2024 SEARCH FOR BEST LITERACY PROGRAM IMPLEMENTERS

1. To recognize schools that exhibit exemplary performance in the


implementation of reading initiatives SY 2023-2024, this Office through the
Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) and with the support of the Local
Government Unit (LGU) Malabon announces the conduct of the 2024 Search for
the Best Literacy Implementers.

2. The Search is part of the SDO Malabon City Curriculum Implementation


Division OPLAN 4P’s (Pagbasa, Pabilang at Pagkalinga sa mga Paaralan) to
address the School- based Learning and Recovery Plan which focuses to recover
the learning losses and bridge the gaps in the learners’ literacy and numeracy
skills thru the conduct of different intervention on Reading and Numeracy.

3. Public elementary and junior high schools that meet the minimum
requirements contained in Enclosure No. 2 are eligible to join the following
contest categories:

5. Only one school per category shall be nominated by the district as


approved by the DRC. The school head and reading coordinator of SY
2023-2024 are the participants of this year’s search.

6. The school head of the school- nominee shall submit to the Contest
Committee a duly signed Certificate of Authenticity and Accuracy of their
School Reading Profile and all the facts contained in the nomination
papers.

7. The District Reading Committee (DRC) chaired by the PSDS shall


validate the School Reading Profile, CRLA/ Phil- IRI Results SY 2023-24
(Elementary) and project E- AKAP Results (Secondary) of all schools in
their respective jurisdiction. A sub- committee may be organized to assist
the DRC during the validation. A certification shall be issued by the
Committee with their official entry along with the nomination write- up
and certification to the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) through
the Education Program Supervisors in English and Filipino on or before
November 6, 2024.

8. All nominees to the Division Level shall also submit a three to five
minute Audio- Video Presentation (AVP) highlighting their notable
accomplishments, effective and innovative practices and milestones in
the implementation of reading instructions and interventions to this link:

10. Expenses relative to the conduct of the activity shall be charged


against Special education fund while the other transportation and other
allowable expenses incurred by the participants shall be charged against
their local/ canteen funds subject to the usual accounting and auditing
rules and regulations.

Contest Guidelines and Mechanics for the 2024 Division Search for the
Best Implementing Schools of Reading Instructions and Interventions

A. Contest Mechanics
1. The Search is open to all public elementary and secondary schools in
the Division.
2. The contest categories are the following:

Medium School Category

CATEGORY B SECONDARY SCHOOLS

Large School Category

3. The nominee shall submit a nomination write- up following the


enclosed template.
4. The District Reading Committee chaired by Public Schools District
Supervisor (PSDS) shall certify the nomination form.
5. Top three winners in each category will be awarded Certificate of
Recognition.
6. The awards to be given are:
a. Division Best Literacy Program Implementers, Elementary, Top 3
b. Division Best Literacy Program Implementers, Secondary, Top 3
c. Certificate of Recognition, School Focal Person in Reading-
Elementary (SY 2023-2024) Top 3
d. Certificate of Recognition, School Focal Person in Reading –
Secondary (SY 2023-2024) Top 3
e. Certificate of Recognition to School Heads (Elementary) Top 3

7. All District Nominees shall be endorsed by their respective PSDS.
