Exercise No: Assignment – 2
Date: 24/08/2023

1. Format the dataset as a table.

STEPS-

 Copy the data from the given question.


 Paste the data in your excel sheet.
 Choose the option “format as table” and make a choice of colours available.

2. Change the variable values of “Socio Economic Status” as


1= “Low”

STEPS-

 Select the “socio economic status” column and click on find and select.
 Choose the replace option and format it as per the condition mentioned in the question.
 Once after formatting the condition, click on “replace all”.

2= “Medium”
STEPS-

 Select the “socio economic status” column and click on find and select.
 Choose the replace option and format it as per the condition mentioned in the question.
 Once after formatting the condition, click on “replace all”.

3= “High”

STEPS-

 Select the “socio economic status” column and click on find and select.
 Choose the replace option and format it as per the condition mentioned in the question.
 Once after formatting the condition, click on “replace all”.
3. Highlight the variable ‘Gender’ as

Male: - Green Colour

Female: - Red Colour

STEPS-

 Select the gender column.


 Click on conditional formatting, use the “highlight cell rules” and format the setting as per
your requirement and apply it.

4. Wrap the column name and give centre and middle alignment

STEPS-

 Select the column headers first.


 Use the wrap text option.
 Then use the middle align and centre align option.

5. Sort the data based on the ID of the patients and highlight the youngest 15% among

them. Note down the age bracket in which they fall.


STEPS-

 Select the data.


 Sort the ID column by using the dropdown and click on smallest to largest.
 Select the entire column and click on conditional formatting.
 Click on top to bottom rule and format the settings as mentioned above.
 Choose the colour to be filled and format it.

6. It is given that a normal resting heart rate for adults’ ranges from 60 to 100 beats per

minute. Highlight the normal heartrate values in the given data.


STEPS-

 Click on the heartrate column.


 Use conditional formatting, use the between option under highlight cell rules.
 Enter the criteria and format it.

7. Display only smokers and sort the data according to the Gender with youngest to oldest.

STEPS-

 Select the dropdown menu under smoking column.


 Takeout the non-smokers category.
 Sort the gender.
 Use the dropdown menu under and choose youngest to oldest.

8. Find the number of smokers in each gender.

STEPS-

 Use the COUNTIF function.


 Select the entire range.
 Choose the criteria, male for number of male and female for number of female.
