CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
The compressor is the power unit of the air-conditioning System that puts the refrigerant
under high pressure before it Pumps it into the condenser, where it changes from a gas
to a liquid. A fully functioning compressor is necessary for the air-conditioning system to
provide peak performance. On most cars, ac compressors are driven by an engine-
accessory belt. If the belt is worn and slips, the compressor won’t operate at full strength.
Compressors can also leak refrigerant, resulting in less cold air going into the interior.
Internal parts can also fail, leading to no cold air. Not all air-conditioning problems are
because the system is low on Refrigerant. Some are caused by issues with system parts,
Such as the compressor

COMPRESSOR
The purpose of the compressor is to circulate the refrigerant in the system under
pressure, this concentrates the heat it contains. At the compressor, the low pressure gas
is changed to high pressure gas.
Fig.1
BLOWER
Effectively, a blower is designed to move air and gas at low to high pressure to
perform a specific function. Blowers serve a broad spectrum of applications in a variety
of industries, including: cooling, conveying, ventilating, exhausting, etc.
Fig.2
CONDENSER
The function of the condenser in a refrigeration system is to transfer heat from the
refrigerant to another medium, such as air and/or water. By rejecting heat, the gaseous
refrigerant condenses to liquid inside the condenser.
Fig.3
STARTING CAPACITOR
The capacitor’s job is to absorb and store electrical energy that can be used to
start up the fan motors and to keep them running. Capacitors help maintain a constant
charge to the motors so the air conditioner can run for an extended period of time reliably
and efficiently.
Fig.4
RELAY KNOB
When it’s time for the compressor to stop running, the relay cuts off power to the
compressor by closing the circuit. Your compressor isn’t the only AC component that’ll
have a relay. On most models, the blower fan is also controlled by a relay
Fig.5
RECEIVER DRYER
It captures moisture and dirt from the refrigerant and keeps the system in good
condition. It dries the refrigerant, as moisture in the system has a bad effect on the
compressor oil and the operation of the components, it filters polluting particles and stores
liquid refrigerant.
Fig.6
EXPANSION VALVE
The expansion valve removes pressure from the liquid refrigerant to allow
expansion or change of state from a liquid to a vapour in the evaporator. The high-
pressure liquid refrigerant entering the expansion valve is quite warm.

CHAPTER 3
WORKING OF AC COMPRESSOR
Next, the ac compressor takes in gas from the refrigerant Through the evaporator, causing
pressure to drop. Lowered Pressure causes the refrigerant to evaporate at a low
Temperature before the ac compressor takes that cold Vapour and compresses it. During
this compression, the Refrigerant gas is warmed and pushed into the condenser Through
pipes. Here, it re-liquefies and emits heat before Moving into an area in order to cool. The
refrigerant then Absorbs heat from the passenger compartment. It is returned To a gas
state in the evaporator before it is sucked in by the ac compressor.
CHAPTER 4
USE OF THE AC COMPRESSOR
While your vehicle’s air conditioning (A/C) system is Comprised of different elements, the
ac compressor serves As one of the central parts that creates the system’s necessary
cycle. Without it, your entire ac system will be unable to perform its main function of
creating cool air inside The vehicle. Its primary role is to put the necessary amount of
pressure on (compress) the car’s refrigerant in order to activate its heat-transfer
characteristics and change temperatures. This enables you to remain cool in the warmer
months and have a clear windshield in the colder months. In This article, we delve deeper
into the role you’re ac Compressor plays in your vehicle’s air conditioning system.

CONCLUSION
In our project we have achieved all the objectives which we Were planned. As it is difficult
to work on the ac compressor dismantling ,The ac compressor dismantling is very useful
to do the study easily . It is very useful for students. This project has also reduced the
cost Involved in the concern.
