1. Introduction to Pancares Web
1.1 Pancares Web Overview
Pancares Web system can be used with MicroTech’ products. Pancares Web is ca-
pable of receiving data transmission from medical devices, uploading the data to a
cloud server and displaying the data for users.After the glucose / insulin data is up-
loaded to Pancares Web, the information is processed and presented to healthcare
professionals to monitor their patients’ medical device use status and habits as com-
plement evidence for healthcare professionals’ clinical diagnosis.

Should the users encounter any problems related to the software, customer support
can be obtained by contacting the local distributors.

1.2 About this user guide


This user guide explains important information on how to effectively use your Pan-
care Web system. It provides step-by-step instructions to help you effectively register
and manage your account. It also provides important warning and cautions on prop-
er operation and technical information to ensure your safety.
The user guide has 5 sections. Section 1 runs you through essential information you
need to know before you start using the system. Section 2 covers instructions for
your account managements. Section 3 covers instructions for patient data manage-
ment functions for healthcare professionals. Patients may skip Section 3. Section 4
covers instructions for personal users such as data sharing, reporting and uploading.
Section 5 covers instructions for troubleshooting.

Additional product information may be provided by your local customer support ser-
vice.

1.3 Intended use and safety statement
Pancares Web is a web-based data management software intended for home use
settings to aid diabetes patients and their healthcare professionals to review, analyse
and evaluate data collected from medical devices to advocate an effective diabetes
management.

WARNING
Pancares Web does not measure, interpret or make decisions on users’ diabetes
management automatically. The software shall not be used as a replacement for
professional judgement. All medical diagnosis and treatment related to patient’s
diabetes management should be based on the supervision and oversights by
healthcare professionals.
WARNING
Pancares Web is not intended to replace the users’ self-monitoring practices as
prescribed by their healthcare professional.

WARNING
Patients should not make any adjustment on their treatment without the agree-
ments of their healthcare professional.

WARNING
Pancares should only be used with supported device. The full list of the supported
devices will be displayed once the “Upload” function in the Pancares Web is acti-

Pancares Web can display your recently available blood glucose/ insulin data. The
data should be used in conjunction with the real-time data displayed on the users’
Personal Diabetes Assistant (PDA).

ing of this software. The illustrations may be slightly different from the actual soft-
ware interface. In cases of discrepancies between the illustrations in this document

CONTRAINDICATIONS
This software should not be used other than diabetes management.

1.4 Functions
Pancares Web offers the following functions:
• Create patient’s individual profile to store and display data collected from a
patient’s medical device.
• Collect data from medical devices such as insulin pumps, continuous glucose
monitors (CGM). Collect data from Personal Diabetes Assistant (PDA) and
MicroTech Mobile App.The full list of the supported devices will be displayed
once the “Upload” function in the Pancares Web is activated.
• Process data collected from medical devices and MicroTech App. Generate re-
port based on data collected.
• Allow healthcare professional to manage their patients by streamlining the
data sharing process.
• Allow healthcare professionals and their patient to access data summary re-
ports.

1.5 Security
• Access to Pancares Web requires user’s email address and its corresponding
password.
• Data security is ensured via proprietary means and error checking processes
(such as cyclic redundancy checks).
• Pancares Web cloud uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol to ensure data
transmission security between your hardware and the cloud server.

HARDWARE AND INTERNET REQUIREMENTS


Minimum hardware requirements
• Minimum display screen resolution of 1024x768 (1280x768 for Mac OSX). Us-
ing non-default font size may require higher resolution for proper running.
• CPU: Intel Core Duo 1.8 GHz or AMD Athlon X2 64 2.0 GHz
• 2GB RAM
• OS: Windows® 7/ Mac OSX 10.14
• Free Disk Space: 1 GB
• Computer USB port: 1xUSB 2.0+ port for device to computer data upload
• USB to micro-USB cable to connect for device to computer data transmission
• Printer (If hardcopy reports are used)
Minimum software requirements
• The software requires 32bit colour for proper display of user interface
• A software program that can process “.docx” files for viewing, saving, and
printing charts/reports
• A software program that can process “.xslx” files for viewing, saving, and print-
ing raw and processed data in spreadsheet
• Google Chrome Browser (for patient users only). Any other mainstream brows-
ers for professional users.
Minimum Internet requirements
• Internet connection of at least 1.5 Mbps
• Appropriate firewall program and anti-virus program setting to protect your
data stored, processed and transmitted by your Internet connection

1.7 Help
Any serious incident that has occurred in relation to the software should be reported
to the manufacturer and the competent authority of the Member State. Please seek
help from your healthcare professionals or consult the MicroTech’s local distributor
in your region/ contact MicroTech directly.

2. Getting Started
2.1 Overview
This section covers instructions for your account managements.

You may find the login interface of Pancares Web by typing https://european.pancar-
es.com in your browser or click here.

Before you start, please check if you have your account and password with you. If
you already have an account, enter your MicroTech account username (your email
address) and password to login.

If you are not sure if you have already registered, please click “Forget password”. “A
verification email will be sent to your registered email address to help you reset your
password.

Please keep your account information confidential. At no time should you give out
your account username or password to anyone. This includes friends, relatives, par-
ents, children, spouses, co-workers, and so on. If you receive an alert email informing
you that your account has been logged-in and that was not by you, please use the
account recovery function or contact your local customer support team.

2.2 Account registration


If you do not have a MicroTech account, you may create one on the login page of
Pancares Web. To create an account, please click “Sign Up” on the top right corner
of the website. If you are an individual user, select “Personal Account”; if you are a
healthcare professional, select “Clinician Account”.

After selecting your account type, type in your email address and your password.
Click “Send Verification Code”. An email containing the code will be automatically
sent to your email address. Use the code to complete the registration process.

Personal Account: Clinician Account:

Individual users can use their “Personal Account” right after the registration. Profes-
sional users will have to provide additional information after the registration.

• Country
• Area
• Address
• Contact name
• Contact phone
MicroTech’s support team will issue an approval within 3 working days. Healthcare
professionals may use their “Clinician Account” after obtaining the approval.

3. Clinician Version
This section covers instructions for clinician version Pancares Web such as the dash-
board layout, adding healthcare professional users, patient managements and gener-
ating patient reports.

The layout of the dashboard is shown as below. The dashboard serves as a portal for
clinician users, providing healthcare professionals a patient profile overview.

3.1 Creating patient profiles
1. Contact your patient to send an authorisation to your clinician account. More de-
tails on sending patients authorisation to clinician account, see Section 4.1.
2. Find the pending patient profile on the top of your patient list (on the left-hand
side of your dashboard). The pending profile will be labelled with yellow texts “New
User”.
3. Click “VIEW” on the pending patient profile.
4. Confirm your patient’s authorisation or reject it.

In clinician Pancares Web, a new patient profile can be created when a patient has
authorised clinicians to access his/her Pancares Web account data via their clinician
accounts. After a patient has sent an authorisation to the designated clinician Pan-
cares Web account, a pending patient profile will automatically appear on the top of
the patient list. More details on sending patients authorisation to clinician account,
see Section 4.1 .
To complete the profile creation, clinicians need to confirm patient’s authorisation
by clicking “VIEW” on the right-hand side of the patient’s authorisation. After clicking
the “VIEW” button, clinicians have a few options. Clinicians may choose to discard
the patient’s authorisation and delete the pending profile or accept the authorisa-
tion.

3.2 Editing patient profiles
Adding nickname for patients
1. Find and select the patient’s profile in your patient list or use the search tool to
find the patient’s profile.
2. Click “Edit” icon to add a nickname. To keep the change, click “Yes”. To discard the
change, click “No”.

Deleting patient profiles


1. Find and select the patient’s profile in your patient list or use the search tool to
find the patient’s profile.
2. Click “Delete” icon to delete the selected patient profile. To confirm, click “Yes”. To
stop, click “No”.

3.3 Viewing patient data


1. Click a patient’s profile.
2.Patient interface containing the selected patient’s data will appear automatically
on the dashboard.

3.4 Reports
Before you begin, make sure your patients have uploaded their latest data from their
devices.

On the patient data dashboard, there are four information sections.


1. Patient’s information

4. Patient’s blood glucose, insulin bolus and basal rate statistics.
Reports data and graph may be accessed online. Alternatively, users may export the
data into pdf file and print it to access it offline. The report generated will be labelled
with generation date & time.

3.4.1 Blood glucose tab


Patient’s blood glucose data may be obtained using the following steps
1. Click a patient’s profile.
2.Patient interface containing the selected patient’s data will appear automatically
on the dashboard.
3. Click “BG” tab in the “Summary report tabs” section.

The BG tab displays the blood glucose data recorded during a particular period.
Adjust the date tab to view blood glucose history from 0000hrs of the beginning date
to the 2400hrs of the ending date. The graph displays colour coded circles which rep-
resents the blood glucose measured at that corresponding time. Each circle is corre-
sponded to one data point.
Blood glucose data box also shows the percentage of high and low blood glucose val-
ues.

3.4.2 Insulin history


Patient’s insulin injection history may be obtained using the following steps
1. Click a patient’s profile.
2. Patient interface containing the selected patient’s data will appear automatically
on the dashboard.
3. Click “Trend” tab in the “Summary report tabs” section.

Adjust the date tab to view blood glucose history from 0000hrs of the beginning date
to the 2400hrs of the ending date. The graph displays colour coded circles which rep-
resent the blood glucose measured at that corresponding time. Each circle is corre-
sponded to one data point.
In the insulin injection history graph, blue line represents the insulin basal rate value.
The red bubbles with letter “c” represent the bolus dose calculated using insulin
pump’s bolus calculator. Turn on the “Display Value” switch to show the values of the
calculated bolus doses on the graph.
Insulin injection history box shows the composition of basal insulin and bolus insulin
injected.

3.4.3 CGM statistics


Patient’s CGM statistics may be obtained using the following steps
1. Click a patient’s profile.

3. Click “CGM” tab in the “Summary report tabs” section.

The CGM daily trending graph shows the blood glucose history at different time of a
day.
The summary table shows the following parameters
MBG - Mean Blood Glucose
M-value: Morbus value
SDBG: Standard Deviation of Blood Glucose
%CV: Percentage of Coefficient of Variation
J-index: An index that perpetuates the inclusion of standard deviation into the mea-
surement of glycaemic variability.
IQR: Inter-Quartile Range
AAC100: Area Above Curve 100
AUC100: Area Under Curve 100
LBGI: Low Blood Glucose Index
HBGI: High Blood Glucose Index
ADRR: Average Daily Risk Range
GRADE: Glycaemic Risk Assessment in Diabetes Equation
LAGE: Largest Amplitude of Glycaemic Excursions
MAGE: Mean Amplitude of Glycaemic Excursions
MAG: Mean Absolute Glucose Change (per hour)
MODD: Mean of Daily Differences
CONGA4: Continuous Overall Net Glycemic Action (for 4h period)
The CGM data box also shows the Time in Rang of hyperglycaemia and hypoglycae-
mia.

3.4.4 Report export


To export a selected patient’s report
1. Click a patient’s profile.
2. Patient interface containing the selected patient’s data will appear automatically
on the dashboard.
3. Click “Report” tab to see a report preview.
4. Click “PRINT” to export the report
The default time period is two weeks before the current date. (i.e., Today is 15th Jan-
uary 2021, the report will automatically starts on 1st January 2021)

Clinicians may change their account settings by
1. Click “Setting ” tab in the “Function Tab” section.
2. Click “Edit” tab to adjust the “Display unit” and “Title Style”

4.1 Sharing data


Sharing with others
1.Click “New” button.
2. Type in the email address of the account that you want to share with. Click “Search”
3. Click “Share”.
4. Once the account you are sharing with accepted your sharing, he/she can view
your data.

Others sharing with you
1. If someone else shares his/her data with you, a pending account will appear in
your data sharing list > shared with me.
2. Find the pending account in your sharing list on the left-hand side of your dash-
board. The pending profile will be labelled with yellow texts “New User”.
3. Click “VIEW” on the pending profile. Click “Confirm” or “Delete” to complete the
accounting adding.

4.2 Editing shared account profile

1. Click a shared account’s profile.
2. The interface containing the selected account’s data will appear automatically on
the dashboard.

4.4 Reports

4.4.4 Report export


To export a report
1. Click your personal profile in the profile list.
2. Patient interface containing the selected patient’s data will appear automatically
on the dashboard.
3. Click “Report” tab on the top right-hand corner to see a report preview.

4.5 Uploading your data
Before you begin to upload your data, make sure
1. Your computer OS is Windows 7 and above.
2. Your PDA is connected to your computer using a micro-USB
cable.
3.Use Google Chrome browser to open your Pancares Web.

If you are using a Windows OS, the driver must be installed before uploading.

If you cannot use the driver proper after the installation, check whether the driver is
installed successfully by clicking here .

If you are using a MacOS, you can upload data directly without installing a driver.

Download the driver installation package
Download the driver from https://european.pancares.com/driver/drvinst.rar or click
here.
The current driver version is 1.0.0. When new version is available, please update it
by downloading the new installation package. The latest installation package can be
found here.

Install the driver


1. Extract the .rar package
2. Find the “DrvInst.exe” file. Double click it to initialize the installation.

3. Select “All” and click “INSTALL”

4. Wait until the installation to complete.

Data upload
1. Connect your device to the computer using a micro-USB cable.
2. Click “Upload” button on your dashboard.
3. Select your device type and click “Confirm”.
4. Data transmission will automatically start. When the transmission is completed,
view the data directly on you Pancares web.

Pancares Web acquires data by USB or cloud-server transmission.The upload efficien-


cy depends on the way the software acquires data. The upload speed is estimated as
follow.

5. Troubleshooting
This section covers troubleshooting information for Pancares Web system.
Data transmission errors
If you fail to transmit data from your devices via USB, please try to use another USB
cable. Failure could be caused by possible cable aging or poor cable-to-port connec-
tion. Should the failure caused by aging cable, please contact your local vendor for
further assistance.
CGM automatic data update failure
If your CGM fail to update the continuous blood glucose data automatically, check
your Internet connection and try again. Possible reasons include cloud data request
failure. When the auto-update is restored, your CGM system will correct any overlaps
or gaps in data.
