Deep appreciation to the exceptional Ms. Payel Raha, whose passion for
mathematics inspires and enlightens countless minds. Your dedication to
teaching is truly admirable!
Mathematics
Mathematics is a field of study that discovers and organizes
methods, theories and theorems that are developed and proved for the needs
of empirical sciences and mathematics itself. There are many areas of
mathematics, which include number theory (the study of numbers), algebra (the
study of formulas and related structures), geometry (the study of shapes and
spaces that contain them), analysis (the study of continuous changes), and set
theory (presently used as a foundation for all mathematics). Mathematics involves
the description and manipulation of abstract objects that consist of
either abstractions from nature or—in modern mathematics—purely abstract
entities that are stipulated to have certain properties, called axioms. Mathematics
uses pure reason to prove properties of objects, a proof consisting of a succession
of applications of deductive rules to already established results. These results
include previously proved theorems, axioms, and—in case of abstraction from
nature—some basic properties that are considered true starting points of the
theory under consideration.[

Mathematics is essential in the natural

sciences, engineering, medicine, finance, computer science, and the social
sciences. Although mathematics is extensively used for modelling phenomena, the
fundamental truths of mathematics are independent of any scientific
experimentation. Some areas of mathematics, such as statistics and game theory,
are developed in close correlation with their applications and are often grouped
under applied mathematics. Other areas are developed independently from any
application (and are therefore called pure mathematics) but often later find
practical applications.
CONIC SECTION
There are mainly three type of conic section
these are :
circle
Ellipse
 parabola
hyperbola
CIRCLE
A circle is a shape consisting of all points in a plane that are at a given
distance from a given point, the centre. The distance between any point
of the circle and the centre is called the radius. The length of a line
segment connecting two points on the circle and passing through the
centre is called the diameter. A circle bounds a region of the plane called
a disc.
The Equation of circle is : (x-h) 2 + (y-k) 2 = r2
Ellipse
In mathematics, an ellipse is a plane curve surrounding two focal points,
such that for all points on the curve, the sum of the two distances to the
focal points is a constant. It generalizes a circle, which is the special type
of ellipse in which the two focal points are the same. The elongation of
an ellipse is measured by its eccentricity e, a number ranging
from e=0 to e=1
• The general equation of an ellipse is x2/a2 + y2/b2 =1
• Relation equation of an ellipse is C2 = A2 --- B2
• The eccentricity of an ellipse is e=c/a
• The latus rectum of an ellipse is l = 2b2/a.
parabola

One description of a parabola involves a point (the focus) and

a line (the directrix). The focus does not lie on the directrix.
The parabola is the locus of points in that plane that
are equidistant from the directrix and the focus.
• The general equation of an Parabola is y2 = 4ax or x2 = 4ay
• The latus rectum of an parabola is 4a
• The equation of directrix of an parabola is X=-a
hyperbola

In mathematics, a hyperbola is a type of smooth curve lying in a plane,

defined by its geometric properties or by equations for which it is the
solution set. A hyperbola has two pieces, called connected
components or branches, that are mirror images of each other and
resemble two infinite bows.
• The general equation of Hyperbola is (x2/a2) – (y2/b2) = 1
• Relation equation of hyperbola is B2 = C2 - A2
• latus rectum of hyperbola is 2b2/a.
• The eccentricity of an Hyperbola is e=c/a
Art Integrated Project on conic sections
Objective
Smiley Face which integrate all types of conic section like , circle parabola
ellipse and hyperbola can be made with the help of mathematical equation.

Requirements for the project

•Equation of circle
• Equation of parabola
•Equation of ellipse
•Equation of hyperbola
Methods of construction
1. Type the equation of circle a * x ^ 2 + y ^ 2 <= 16

2. Next, type two equations of circle

b. (x - 2) ^ 2 + (y - 1.5) ^ 2 < 0.05 and

(x + 2) ^ 2 + (y - 1.5) ^ 2 < 0.05 these equations make iris of the eye balls.

4. Next, type two equations ellipse. These make two eye balls on the face

d. ((x - 2) ^ 2)/((0.7) ^ 2) + ((y - 1.9) ^ 2)/((1.2) ^ 2) = 0.5

e. ((x + 2) ^ 2)/((0.7) ^ 2) + ((y - 1.9) ^ 2)/((1.2) ^ 2) = 0.5

5. Next, we type the equation of parabola for lips.

f. y + 2 = 0.5x ^ 2 \ {- 1.2 <= x < 1.2\}

6. Next, we type the equation of straight line for lips.

g. y = - 1.3\{- 1.2 <= x < 1.2\}
