I have here some objects, a balloon, clay and

chair. We’re going to have a quick question and
answer.
(Let one student blow the balloon) It grow bigger.
Change on size.
What happened to the balloon when you apply
force on it?

(let one student play with the clay) It change on shape.

Same question, what happened to the clay when

you apply force to the clay?

(let one student move the chair) Change on position.

It moves.
Last, what happened to the chair when you
apply force to it?

Thank you for your participation.

3. Explain

Effects of Force on the Shape, Size and

Movement on the Objects
Force is either a push and pull on an object. It
occurs when two or more objects interact with
each other. Force can change the state of rest or
motion of an object. An example is when your
hand pushes a marble gently on the top of a
table. The marble then set into motion. Now if
you keep your hand on the opposite side of the
moving marble, the moving marble comes into a
state of rest.

The shape of an object may change when force is

applied on it. Kneading a dough, compressing
cotton, bending a wire, twisting a rope,
stretching a rubber band or squeezing a ball.
Also, when force is applied to an object, the
object’s size may change. Some situations where
force is applied and changed the sized of an
objects are the following: dropping a glass,
cutting a paper, and slicing a vegetables.
The force applied on an objects also affects its
movement. Force can change the direction of
movement of an object. An example is when a
football players applies force by kicking the ball
in different directions. Force can change how
fast or slow the movement of an object is.
