NCC: AT A GLANCE
DEFINATION OF NCC
NATIONAL CADET CORPS
❑ Tri- services organisation
(Army, Navy and Air Force)
❑ Voluntary recruitment from schools, colleges and
universities all over India
❑ Provide basic military training
❑ Origin can be tracked back to “university corps”
❑ Organisation committee was headed by Pandit H.N.
Kunzru

The ‘Aims’ of the NCC laid out in MARCH 2001:

Leadership, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure,
and Ideals of Selfless Service amongst the Youth
of the Country.
❑ To Create a Human Resource of Organized,
Trained and Motivated Youth
❑ Motivate the Youth to Take Up a Career in the
Armed Forces.

CERTIFICATE EXAMINATIONS
❑ CERTIFICATE ‘A’
The Cadet must have a minimum attendance of 75%
Must have attended one Annual Training Camp.

❑ CERTIFICATE ‘B’
The cadet must have a minimum attendance of 75%
Must have attended one Annual Training Camp
Cadets possessing Certificate A will be awarded ‘10
bonus’ marks.
❑ CERTIFICATE ‘C’
The candidature must be in possession
of Certificate ‘B’
The cadet must be in the third year of
SD/SW NCC training
Must have a minimum attendance of
75%
The cadet must have attended one
Annual Training Camp and one more
additional camp: like RDC, All India
Trekking Camp, National Integration
Camp and Attachment Camps with IMA
and OTA.
Cadets will be allowed to appear for Certificate
C examination only after one year of passing
Certificate B examination.
