We were tasked to create a multi-grade classroom miniature. Creating this output was
an innovative project that allowed me to re-visit how a multi-grade teaching works. With the use
of hands-on production and visual creativity, We dwelled on this project. As we began to design
our multi-grade classroom miniature, we considered a lot of things: Space, Arrangement, Color
combinations and especially how we would integrate inclusivity using various materials inside
the classroom. We incorporated necessary classroom materials like tables and chairs, boards,
and a whole lot of visual aids balancing both functionality and aesthetics. We make sure that our
library would not feel empty. For that we added mini books made from colored paper and bond
paper.
The creation process was the most thrilling and challenging part. We want to make sure
that the materials that we’re gonna use are effective but low cost. For that, we use what is
available in our homes. Each and every one of us discussed what we could do with our current
resources and transform them into something that would benefit our project. For example, we
use an old doll house. We deconstructed it and used some of its parts. Overcoming these
I came with a lot of realization during this project. Creating a miniature of everything
requires patience. It is not easy to miniaturize everything. Paying attention to detail should be
the utmost priority when making a miniature project. On the other hand, limited resources and
materials sparked our creative and innovative solutions. Maintaining the functionality and
aesthetics while keeping the project low cost and especially with our takeaways from our subject
reading visual arts, we were able to apply those lessons to the integration of our multigrade
In conclusion, creating this project was an experience. There were times that we thought
we would not be able to finish what was on our minds but I did it with the help of my group-
mates. I think this is a valuable lesson for our journey as a future educator on how we will
Working on this group project to design a miniature classroom has been both an
enlightening and challenging experience. Multi-grade classes are where students of different
grade levels, ages, and abilities work together or independently under the instruction of one
teacher. For our project, we were tasked with creating a miniature model of a multi-grade
classroom. This activity tested my creativity and deepened my understanding of inclusivity in the
classroom.
Through this project, we wanted to create a floorplan that would give the impression of
an inclusive multi-grade classroom. Flexibility and adaptability should be present inside the
classroom, so I made sure that the layout of our miniature model allowed students to have the
space they need for individual learning. Integrating a physical library and activity area was a
smart choice to let students learn at their own pace, giving them the opportunity to engage in
While designing the classroom, I realized how important it is to have a classroom that
supports both cognitive and psychomotor development. The vibrant colors and open spaces we
incorporated are meant to create an engaging and welcoming environment for children. The
activity area we created promotes physical movement and hands-on learning, helping students
develop motor skills while also learning new concepts. I learned that the physical environment
plays a significant role in motivating students and helping them stay engaged.
The process also made me reflect on how essential it is to have spaces that support
both group activities and independent learning. The library space we added is an area where
students can work independently, encouraging them to learn at their own pace.
This experience has reminded me that as future educators, it’s crucial to create
environments that cater to the needs of all students. I realized that an inclusive classroom
should not only focus on academic learning but also on providing spaces for physical activity
and independent growth. Moving forward, I will continue to consider how the physical classroom
environment can foster both cognitive and psychomotor development in every student.

Creating the multigrade classroom miniature was a truly rewarding experience. It started
as a simple idea, but along the way, it became much more than just a project—it was an
opportunity to learn and work together.
The first part of the project was planning. We came together as a group and discussed
the design of the miniature classroom. We shared our ideas and made sure to consider how the
classroom would work for students of different ages. Moreover, what I’m particularly glad about
is how smoothly everything went in terms of teamwork. Despite the pressure and challenges
that came with the project, the three of us never had an argument. Instead, we respected and
valued each other’s ideas and suggestions.
Once we had our plan, we moved on to buying the materials. We made a list of
everything we needed. This part of the project required careful thinking because we had a
limited budget as a student. We wanted to make sure we bought quality materials without
spending too much money. Though it was a bit challenging, it was exciting to see the materials
come together, knowing they were the building blocks for our project.
Building the miniature was both fun and challenging. As we started to cut, glue, and
paint the pieces, we realized that it wasn’t always as easy as we thought. Some things didn’t fit
perfectly, and some designs didn’t work out as planned. Whether it was redoing a piece or
adjusting the design, our teamwork made everything go more smoothly. It was during this part
of the project that we really learned how to rely on each other and support each other’s
strengths.
Overall, there were struggles along the way, especially with time management and
budgeting. However, despite these challenges, our teamwork kept us going. Each of us had a
role to play, and we made sure to support each other throughout the project. This experience
showed us the value of working together and helping each other out, especially when faced with
difficulties.
