SUBJECT: Modeling and Control of Power Converters CODE: EE-6330
Duration of Examination: 2 hours FULL MARKS: 30
Figures at the right hand margin indicate marks. All parts of a question should be
answered at one place. Assume any missing information appropriately.
Answer all Questions
Q1. Referring to the converter circuit shown in Fig (a), answer the following questions,
i) Derive the steady state input output voltage relationship (i.e. duty ratio) for each
case for the switch drive signal given in Fig b), c) and d) using volt-sec balance.
Find the output voltage in each case. [2+2+2=6]
ii) Sketch the steady-state waveform of iL and voltage stresses on switch Q1 and Q2 for
each case. Label the maximum and minimum values on your sketch. [4]
