The lesson is all about the concept of reflection, especially how light bounces
off surfaces like mirrors. Students will learn why things appear the way they do when
we look in a mirror and how this idea is important in everyday life and technology.
The teacher wants students to understand these basic ideas about reflection clearly,
while also encouraging them to think critically about what they observe in the world
around them.
During the lesson, the teacher emphasizes two main ideas: reflection itself and
mirrors as a common example. By focusing on these concepts, students can explore
how light works and see how it relates to things they encounter daily. The teacher is
also helping students develop critical thinking skills by guiding them to analyze
different situations that involve reflection. This way, students not only learn important
science ideas but also become more curious and thoughtful about the science they see
in their everyday lives.

1. Principles in classroom routines established

Classroom routines should promote a positive learning environment and help
students feel comfortable and focused. Key principles include consistency, predictability,
and clarity. Consistency means following the same procedures every day, so students
know what to expect. Predictability allows students to feel secure in their learning space.
Clarity involves clearly explaining expectations and procedures to ensure that all students
understand what they need to do. By establishing these routines, teachers can create a
structured environment that enhances student engagement and learning.
2. Principles in the formulation of Lesson objectives and learning activities
When formulating lesson objectives and learning activities, it is essential to
ensure they are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART).
Objectives should clearly state what students should learn and achieve by the end of the
lesson. Learning activities should be engaging, varied, and aligned with the objectives to
cater to different learning styles. Additionally, it’s important to connect activities to real-
life situations to make the learning relevant and meaningful. By following these
principles, teachers can create focused lessons that effectively guide student learning.

3. Principles in the selection of assessment tool.

Selecting assessment tools should be based on fairness, validity, reliability, and
alignment with learning objectives. Fairness ensures that all students have an equal
chance to demonstrate their knowledge and skills. Validity means that the assessment
accurately measures what it is intended to assess, while reliability refers to the
consistency of the assessment results over time. Additionally, assessments should align
with the learning objectives to accurately reflect what students have learned. By applying
these principles, teachers can choose assessment tools that provide meaningful insights
into student progress and inform future instruction.

4. Over-all teacher-student interaction in the teaching-learning process

The overall teacher-student interaction in the teaching-learning process is crucial
for creating an effective and engaging classroom environment. Positive interactions foster
a supportive atmosphere where students feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and
asking questions. Teachers can facilitate this by being approachable, actively listening,
and providing constructive feedback. Encouraging collaboration through group activities
also enhances interaction, as students learn from each other and build teamwork skills.
Additionally, using various teaching strategies, such as discussions, interactive lessons,
and hands-on activities, can keep students engaged and motivated. Overall, strong
teacher-student interactions not only promote a deeper understanding of the material but
also help build students' confidence and independence in their learning journey.

REFLECTION
 My Reflection answers these: “If I were the teacher, will I choose the same
activities and assessment tool for this subject matter and learning objectives?” and
“What insights have I learned from this experience?”

If I were the teacher, I would carefully think about whether to choose the same
activities and assessment tools for the subject matter and learning objectives. I would
consider if the activities are engaging and help students learn well. If I think different
activities might do a better job of reaching the learning goals, I would try those instead.
From this experience, I have learned that it’s important to be flexible and willing
to change my plans based on what works best for the students. I realized that different
students have different needs, and finding the right way to teach them can make a big
difference. It’s also important to get feedback from students about the activities and
assessments. This way, I can improve my teaching and help all my students succeed.

1. Describe how your cooperating teacher begins his/her lesson. Why do you think he/she
does that?
My cooperating teacher has a unique way of starting her lessons. She usually
begins by simply talking to the students without using any instructional materials. By
using herself to teach, she creates a personal connection with the students. I think she
does this to help make learning feel more natural and to establish a comfortable
atmosphere where students feel engaged and ready to learn.
2. What learning activities did the cooperating teacher used after introducing the lesson?
Why do you think he/she chose such?
After introducing the lesson, my cooperating teacher uses fun learning activities
like music and physical exercises such as Zumba. She chooses these activities to energize
the students and help them shake off any sleepiness. By incorporating movement and
music, she keeps the students active and focused, which makes it easier for them to learn.
It’s a great way to break up the routine and to get everyone involved in the lesson.
3. How did the cooperating teacher end the lesson?

5. How should the lesson begin and end?

A lesson should begin with an engaging introduction that captures the students’ attention.
The teacher can start by asking an interesting question, sharing a fun story, or presenting
a short video related to the topic. This helps to create excitement and curiosity among the
students. It’s also helpful for the teacher to briefly explain what the lesson will be about
and what the students can expect to learn. This way, students understand the purpose of
the lesson and are more ready to participate.
At the end of the lesson, it’s important for the teacher to summarize the key
points. This helps reinforce what the students have learned and makes it easier to
remember. The teacher can also ask questions or give a quick assessment to check how
well the students understand the material. This can be done through group discussions or
individual explanations. Ending the lesson with a recap and a way to assess
understanding helps students feel confident about what they learned and prepares them
for the next lesson.

REFLECTION
 My Reflection focuses on this: “Tell me and I forget; teach me and I remember;
involve me and I learn” – Benjamin Franklin
The quote by Benjamin Franklin, “Tell me and I forget; teach me and I
remember; involve me and I learn,” highlights the importance of active participation in
learning. It reminds us that just listening to information doesn't help us to fully
understand or remember it. When someone tells us something, we may forget it easily
because we are not fully engaged. This shows that simply hearing facts isn’t enough for
deep learning.
When a teacher teaches us something, we might remember it for a while,
but it’s still not the best way to truly learn. Teaching often includes explanations and
examples, which help us grasp the concepts better. However, it still lacks the hands-on
approach that many students need. Learning becomes more meaningful when we take
part in the process. This is why Franklin emphasizes the idea of involvement as the best
way to learn.
Being involved means actively participating in activities, discussions, and
projects. When we engage in our learning, we tend to remember the information much
better. We can ask questions, explore ideas, and put what we learn into practice. This
involvement creates experiences that stick with us long after the lesson is over. Overall,
the quote reminds us that the best way to learn is through active engagement, making
education a more fulfilling and lasting experience.
