Revision Date:
1. Describe your experience in surfing the internet for appropriate electronic resources for
the class? Did you find it easy or difficult?
I found surfing the internet for appropriate electronic resources for the class to be
a mostly easy experience. There were many websites and materials available on the topic
I needed, like videos, articles, and interactive activities. However, it was sometimes
challenging to choose the best resources because there were so many options, and I had to
make sure they were credible and suitable for my students. Overall, I enjoyed discovering
different ways to enhance the lesson
2. How did you choose which electronic resources to include here? What did you
consider? Explain.
I chose which electronic resources to include by looking for websites that were
reliable and provided clear information about the topic. I considered factors like the
credibility of the organization, whether the content was appropriate for my students’ age,
and how engaging the resources were. I also looked for materials that offered interactive
elements or practice opportunities to help students understand the topic better.
3. Reflect on your technology skills. What skills do you already have and what skills
would you continue to work on to be better at utilizing electronic resources?
I already have some technology skills, like searching for information online and
using educational websites to find resources. I am comfortable using basic tools like
presentations and videos. However, I want to improve my skills in creating interactive
activities and using more advanced features of educational platforms, so I can provide
even better learning experiences for my students
PORTFOLIO
Make and/or print useful instructional materials (worksheets, visual aids, flash
cards, rubrics, etc.) and include them here. Indicate how they might be useful considering
your area of specialization.
Group work: science experiment:
Experiments in science class help students learn by doing, which makes it easier
to understand new ideas. By seeing things happen right in front of them, students can ask
questions and find out how the world works. Plus, experiments encourage teamwork and
problem-solving skills, which are important for the future.
Episode 8: Assisting the Teacher with a Teacher’s
Tool Box
Your Target:
While you observe different classes, you will be able to identify the subject
matter, lesson objectives, learning activities, assessment tools, and over-all teaching-
learning process.
YOUR TOOLS
As you observe a class, you will use the Observation Sheet for a more focused
observation.

5. Were the learning objectives achieved? How? What principles were observed?
Yes, the learning objectives were achieved by actively engaging students in
discussions and hands-on projects. I observed principles of active learning and
collaboration, which helped everyone understand the material better.
6. How did the learners participate in the activities?
Learners participated in activities by sharing their ideas during group work and
asking questions during discussions. They also worked together on projects, which made
the learning process more fun and interactive.
3. How did the teacher choose the learning activities and assessment tool? What were
his/her reasons?
The teacher chose learning activities and assessment tools based on what would
best help us understand the topics. The reason was to create a mix of fun and challenging
tasks that supported different learning styles.

REFLECTION
My Reflection answers these: “If I were the teacher, will I choose the same
activities and assessment tool for this subject matter and learning objectives?” and
“What insights have I learned from this experience?”
If I were the teacher, I would carefully think about whether to choose the same
activities and assessment tools for the subject matter and learning objectives. I would
consider if the activities are engaging and help students learn well. If I think different
activities might do a better job of reaching the learning goals, I would try those instead.
From this experience, I have learned that it’s important to be flexible and willing
to change my plans based on what works best for the students. I realized that different
students have different needs, and finding the right way to teach them can make a big
difference. It’s also important to get feedback from students about the activities and
assessments. This way, I can improve my teaching and help all my students succeed.

1. Describe how your cooperating teacher begins his/her lesson. Why do you think he/she
does that?
My cooperating teacher has a unique way of starting her lessons. She usually
begins by simply talking to the students without using any instructional materials. By
using herself to teach, she creates a personal connection with the students. I think she
does this to help make learning feel more natural and to establish a comfortable
atmosphere where students feel engaged and ready to learn.
2. What learning activities did the cooperating teacher used after introducing the lesson?
Why do you think he/she chose such?
After introducing the lesson, my cooperating teacher uses fun learning activities
like music and physical exercises such as Zumba. She chooses these activities to energize
the students and help them shake off any sleepiness. By incorporating movement and
music, she keeps the students active and focused, which makes it easier for them to learn.
It’s a great way to break up the routine and to get everyone involved in the lesson.
3. How did the cooperating teacher end the lesson?
At the end of the lesson, my cooperating teacher always summarizes the main
points and uses assessments to check the students' understanding. She will ask questions
or have the students explain what they learned. This helps her see if the students grasped
the material and allows them to reflect on their learning. By using these assessments, she
ensures that the students are not only paying attention but are also able to express what
they know.
4. Did you observe an assessment of learning after the lesson? How was it done?
She will ask questions or have the students explain what they learned. This helps
her see if the students grasped the material and allows them to reflect on their learning.
By using these assessments, she ensures that the students are not only paying attention
but are also able to express what they know.

ANALYSIS
Objectives:
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
1. Identify the different types of radiation (alpha, beta, gamma).
2. Differentiate the effects of radiation on living organisms and the environment.
3. Analyze real-world examples of radiation exposure and their consequences.
Preliminary Activities:
Prayer
Review Previous Knowledge: Begin with a short quiz on atomic structure and basic
physics concepts related to radiation (e.g., ionization).
Motivation:
Hook Activity: Show a brief video clip (2-3 minutes) of a documentary
segment on the effects of radiation from historical events (e.g., Chernobyl
disaster, Hiroshima).
Follow up the video with a question: “What do you think are the short-term and
long-term effects of such exposure on humans and the environment?”
Lesson Proper:
1. Direct Instruction
o Types of Radiation: Explain alpha, beta, and gamma radiation with
visuals and real-life examples. Use diagrams and models to illustrate
how each type of radiation interacts with matter.
o Effects on Living Organisms: Discuss how radiation can cause cellular
damage, mutations, and cancer. Use statistics and research findings to
support your explanation.
o Dosage and Health: Introduce the concept of "millisieverts" and how
radiation doses are measured. Discuss common sources of radiation
exposure, both natural and artificial.
Activity :
Case Study Activity:
o Divide students into small groups. Assign each group a different case
study (Chernobyl, Fukushima, medical uses of radiation, or natural
radiation in the environment).
o Instruct each group to identify:
The type of radiation involved.
The short-term and long-term effects on health and the
environment.
Possible preventive measures that could be taken.
o Groups will present their findings to the class.
Generalization
Summarize key points:
o Different types of radiation and their properties.
o Immediate and long-term health impacts of radiation exposure.
o Importance of understanding radiation dosage.
Highlight the significance of radiation in both negative and positive contexts
(e.g., advances in medicine vs. environmental disasters).
