The time given at the head of this Paper is the time allowed for writing the answers.

Attempt all questions from Section A and any three questions from Section B.

All working, including rough work, must be clearly shown and must be done on the same

sheet as the rest of the answer.

Omission of essential working will result in loss of marks.

The intended marks for questions or parts of questions are given in brackets [ ].

Answers to the questions should be written on ruled A4 size paper.

(i) Find x, if MNC = (3x-10) and C = (x+18)

c. AM is the median of ΔABC. BP and CQ are perpendiculars to AM
and AM produced. Prove that:
(i) ∆𝐵𝑀𝑃 ≅ ∆ 𝐶𝑄𝑀
(ii) BP = CQ.

a. In the given figure, AE= DC=13 cm, BE = 5 cm, ABC = 90 AND AD = EC = x cm.
Find:
(i) length of AB
(ii) the value of x

b. Evaluate without using the trigonometric tables:

c. The following table shows the daily wages of workers in factory. Draw
a frequency polygon to represent the following data.

a. If 13 sin = 5,
find sec  + tan  [3]

b. ABCD is a parallelogram. B = 114, ACD = 36, PAB = (2y+10)
and ACB = x. Find x and y.

point P. If OA = OB = 15 cm and OP =9 cm, calculate:
(i) CD (ii) AD

c. Solve the following simultaneous equations graphically.
4x - 3y = 0;
2x + 3y – 18 = 0.
Find the area of the triangle enclosed by the y-axis and the two lines
(Use a scale of 1 cm =1 unit on both the axes) [4]

a. In the given figure, AD is the diameter of the circle, with centre O. If AB || CD,
prove that AB = CD.

find the value of a + b + c [3]
c. In the adjoining figure, ABC = 90. ABP is an equilateral triangle. PQ || BC.
Prove that
(i) PQ Ʇ AB

(iii) R is the mid-point of AC.

a. If E and F are points on diagonal AC of a parallelogram ABCD such that AE = CF,
then show that BFDE is a parallelogram.
