Acknowledgement

These are a number of people without whom this teaching

internship journey might not have been successful and to whom I am
greatly indebted.

To our school dean, Sir Reynato Divinagracia, thank you for your
support and inspiring message to us. Your words and advice are
something we always bring to our teaching field. We are grateful for
having a school dean who is there when we need help.

To our internship adviser, Miss Liezel Dinglasan, who is very

supportive and dedicated to sharing her knowledge and wisdom in
teaching. Her words and wisdom inspire us to become better teachers in
the future. Her support, efforts, and patience with us on our duty were
greatly appreciated because, without this person, the teaching journey
might not have been possible.

To our cooperating teachers, especially Sir Joe Cyros Dagunan,

who is very dedicated to teaching us, from making a lesson plan to
teaching us the different teaching strategies, Sf1, Sf2, and many other
school works were greatly appreciated because of you, sir. Lots of
learning was acquired. All the teaching feedback was a big help to us
because we knew where we needed improvement. All the advice, lessons,
and inspirational messages you have shared were on my mind. I will
carry this lesson with me for a lifetime.

To my mama, thank you for everything. Thank you for all the
support and care during my teaching internship journey, from preparing
my lunch every day to financial support. Your effort to be there for me is
valued. I'm thankful and grateful that you understand me for being tired
every time I go home from duty. All your sacrifices will pay off someday,
ma.

To my friends, thank you for making my teaching internship

journey bearable. We might be tired every day because of duty, but we
never forget to laugh about the hardships we are facing. I know we will
get this degree with a big smile because our sleepless nights and
sacrifices will pay off.
Dedication
Officially done with internship duty. It is another
milestone in my life that I achieve, but behind these are
struggles, sleepless nights, problems, and unstable health. But
this is not the reason to stop; instead, we all knew that this was a
part of the journey to success. This portfolio is dedicated to
those people who are with me and who never tired of supporting
and cheering me on. I offer this as another milestone for you all.

Mama, thank you so much for your unconditional love and

support throughout this journey. This success is for you. I
overcame these struggles in order to make you proud. Your
effort will pay off. Love and kisses

To my cooperating teacher, Sir Cy, and class adviser, Miss

Dinglasan, thank you for molding us to become better teachers
in the future. I learned a lot from you all—those learnings,
advice, and encouragement. I will apply this learning every day
and in my profession. Thank you because all of you became part
of this success.

To my college friends, thank you because this journey

became bearable because of the joy and laughter we shared
every time we were all together. We may have a lot of hard
work on this journey, but we never lost hope of stopping,
instead, we are encouraging each other to keep going. Thank
you, because everything runs smoothly when we are together.

Above all, I dedicate all of this to the Lord Almighty for

giving me strength and to overcome all my hardships in this
journey, thank you for answering my prayers and guiding us
every time we went on duty.

Introduction
"Learning is a constant process of discovery—a process without
end."

The teaching internship journey is a process of discovery

—a discovery where we can learn new things, incorporate many
different teaching methods, put my knowledge and skills into
practice, learn how to engage people, know student stories, and
much more.

In a teaching internship, the goal is to "learn and apply." It

may be a long process that we need to endure, but if you look at
the journey that we take, we are going to enjoy every moment.
Every day is a discovery of learning. We might be surprised
every day by what new lesson we are going to learn from our
cooperating teacher, but behind that, we know those learnings
can be used beyond our courses. Let's say we are going to learn
in practical rather than theoretical form. Our mind grasps things
easily and quickly in realistic form. Through the process of
learning, we can develop various skills in ourselves, which can
be very useful to us. Learning develops versatile knowledge,
and knowledge can never be wasted.

Learning is so important, as through it we are able to

expand our minds and begin to see things that we have never
experienced. Every time, learning doesn’t mean to accumulate
degrees and an increasing graph of qualification. It is
a continuous process in each phase of life that helps in achieving
both professional and personal goals. Learning should have
milestones, but not full stops.

Therefore, this teaching internship journey leads us to

serve well in this world. Learning can lead our lives towards the
all-round development of our personalities
Observation and Activities

A. Reading B. Group Spelling

When I entered GMNHS-Binulig Extension, teachers and students

welcomed us happily. Teachers are very accommodating, and students treat us
like their own teachers, whom they respect as their own advisers. Our
cooperating teacher is always there to guide us, inspire us, and encourage our
growth. His dedication to education and his ability to impart wisdom make him a
true mentor. That's why I feel great that I was assigned to one of the "bansays" in
making a lesson plan. Sir Joe Cyrus Dagunan trained us to make a lesson plan,
guiding us on how we would deliver it to the students. His knowledge and skills
are a big help to us in our teaching internship journey. We learned a lot from
him. He makes sure that we will be able to experience what the teachers do so
that, in the future, we will have a background in it.

On the other hand, every Friday we celebrated "Catch Up Friday." It is a

policy implemented by the Department of Education (DepEd) in the Philippines.
During catch-up Friday, students from grase 7 to grade 12 will spend the day
reading age-appropriate books based on their interests, and subjects like peace
education, health, and values education will also be tackled. So we are the ones
who facilitate for the students; we are guiding them on how to read correctly,
and sometimes we also have a spelling class to practice the students vocabulary.
This activity makes students relax, reduce stress, and promote mental well-being.
Actual Teaching Activities

During my final demonstration, I'm having a group

activity. I divide the class into two groups, and they choose a
leader, a secretary, and a reporter. The instruction is: Write
and distinguish what technical terms are being described in
the sentence since my topic is technical terms used in
research. Students enjoyed making the activity, and they
successfully answered it. After they presented, I asked
several questions about the said activity, and I was amazed
that they answered correctly. I also successfully completed
my final demonstration with good remarks and feed back.
Ancillary Services and Other School
Activities

A. Catch- Up Friday Culmination b. Work Immersion Culmination

Binulig Extension has two programs that are being held when we have
a duty there: catch-up Friday and work immersion culmination.
During the catch-up Friday, there were lots of activities being
celebrated: poster making, story telling, interpretative reading, and many
others. I'm blessed because I was chosen to judge the different activities. I
enjoy listening to and seeing their performances and artwork. Students are
having fun while learning with the said event because the goal of this
program is to celebrate and learn.
During work immersion culmination, grade 12 students are present,
and different government agencies where students are having an immersion
are also there. Different speakers share their inspirational message,
imparting knowledge and expertise for the students to hone their skills to
become the best in their craft and chosen profession. In this event, students
learn a lot of things that they can use beyond school, where their journey in
work immersion is lifelong learning.
Insights Gained From All Phases of
the Teaching Internship
Teaching Internship Journey: As my journey began, I
knew in myself that there were a lot of things that I needed to
discover in this journey—loopholes in my mind that I needed to
fill up with knowledge and learning. Within those months in the
field, there were a lot of things I'd learned. By learning, I am
able to expand my mind and begin to see things that I have
never experienced.

Every day means new learning. I've learned how to make

a lesson plan, teaching strategies, how to make a table of
specifications, Sf1 and Sf2, and much other school stuff. New
learning has been unlocked, and I am grateful to my
cooperating teacher, who always tries to teach us these things.
I've also gained the confidence to teach in front of the cla ss. I
always make sure that I am ready with my lessons and apply
what my cooperating teacher advises so that I can deliver my
lesson successfully and students can learn from what I am
discussing.

Aside from teaching, I've also learned to communicate—

with my students and other cooperating teachers. Hearing some
student stories might be both fascinating and relatable. Whether
they’re about academic achievements, personal growth, or
memorable experiences, they often resonate with many of us.

Teaching Internship Journey: We should learn for self-

development and to develop the ability to examine our own
minds to identify the roles, activities, and priorities that help in
positive thinking and encourage taking on challenges. Learning
will help in enhancing our strengths, minimizing our
weaknesses, and maintaining a balance between personal,
professional, and social goals. Learning leads us to serve well in
this world
Problems Encountered in Teaching
Internship
In my teaching internship journey, there's been no problem
that I've ever encountered. Everything flows smoothly. I'm
thankful that I never encountered any problems in my duty;
instead, I was happy because there were lots of learning, self-
discovery, and meeting new people I encountered. I've
experienced those things that I never experienced.
Suggestions, reactions, and
recommendations
GMNHS-Binulig Extension faculty and staff are very
accommodating and always guide us to become better teachers
in the future. They're always there to help us learn how to
manage the lessons, the classroom, and the students.

School facilities are well established, but the only problem

is the comfort room. Therefore, I suggest that there's someone
who will manage the CR to maintain its cleanliness and always
make sure that there's enough water supply so that students are
comfortable using it. Aside from this, everything in school is
good.
