OBJECTIVES:
Performance: Decide on suitable qualitative research topics in different areas of interest.
Content: Demonstrate the value of qualitative research; its kinds, characteristics, uses,
strengths, and weaknesses; and the importance of qualitative research across elds of inquiry.
Task Context
Every intent to do academic research begins with a topic proposal. It provides an overall idea on
the significance of studying a particular issue and how the researcher intends to conduct the
research study. More importantly, it serves as the foundation of the entire research project. A good
topic proposal allows the teacher to assess the feasibility of the research project.
Task Instructions
1. With your group, bring out the titles you have made from the previous performance task
and the feedback you got from your subject teachers.
2. Formulate three topic proposals with each proposal limited to one page. The topic proposals
must be ordered according to preference.
4. Encode your answers in a separate document file and the document in your respective
group folders.
5. Based on the order of the topic proposals, the rest topic proposal in the list will be subjected
to an oral defense together with a written output. The two remaining topic proposals are reserved
in case the first topic proposal is rejected after the oral defense.
