30 I. Opening Prayer
31 - Ms. Alay led the opening prayer.

37 A. Choosing of Books
38 - Ms. Dorog started the meeting by introducing the 4 book companies which will
39 be the source of the textbooks the students will be using for the next school year.
40 - The companies are DIWA, PHEONIX, REX BOOKS STORE, and EduLearn. This are
41 the companies that support the school in all the activities.
42 - Ms. Dorog asked the teachers to review the contents of the sample textbooks and
43 choose which book aligns with the competencies of the curriculum guide.
44 - Ms. Dorog asked the body, what is their comments to the books that they are
45 currently using?
46 - Mr. Dadulla commented that it is colorful, the competencies is also aligned based
47 on curriculum guide but the activities are not really helpful. Also some lessons
48 are shallow.
49 - Ms. Dorog also asked Mr. Tahadlangit about the book in Filipino 10, according to
50 him it is good, but the stories are not classic anymore.
51 - Ms. Alay also commented that the book in Filipino 9 is not consistent if the
52 literature.
53 - For the Filipino 7 and 8, there are some error in the giving of definitions of
54 konotasyon and denotasyon.
55 - Ms. Dorog also asked if how long the books has been using. Most of the books are
56 at its 2nd year.
57 - The new books are distributed for the teachers to examine each book and
58 choose.
59 - Ms. Docenos commented that the Filipino 7 in phoenix has a small font which is
60 not suitable for students. But activities is good.
61 - Ms. Dorog added that most of our students is more on visuals. Grade 7 students
62 might also have the same reaction.
63 - Ms. Dorog reminded the body that because the parent pay for the books the
64 teachers should use it.
65 - Mr. Dadulla suggested that the body should try to choose the same books from
66 Grade 7 to Grade 10. He also added that the ECAS has a lot of activities for one
67 lesson.
68 - Mr. Dadulla suggested that only the grade 7 books must be change because of the
69 Matatag Curriculum and wait for the other year level to be updated to be aligned
70 in the Matatag Curriculum.
71 - Mrs. Calva asked if we are in contract with the company to use the book for 3
72 years or not.
73 - Ms. Dorog clarified that the 3 years rule in books is a practice in school for how
74 many years.
75 - Ms. Dorog asked the final decision of the body what book is chosen. She also
76 suggested that if anybody has a comment about the books, she is welcome to
77 receive a letter.
78 - The Filipino decided to use the books of REX from grade 7 to 8. For the English
79 IV. Other Matters
80 a. Ms. Dorog asked the body if they decided about the department outing.
81 - Mr. Balatero suggested picnic. While Ms. Butil reminded Ms. Dorog the she
82 assign Mr. Salde to be the one to look for the destination. Mr. Salde forgot about
83 the assignment. Led to the decision of Ms. Dorog to have a picnic.
84 - Mr. Dadulla asked if how much is the budget. Ms. Dorog answered the budeget is
85 PHP 5,000. 00.
86 - Ms. Butil suggested to know the purpose of the outing. She also reminded the
87 body about the department payment of PHP 100.00 every 15 days.
88 - Ms. Dorog suggested to go at CDO to attend a mass, sine, eat and malling. The
89 body agreed on this idea.
90 - There are some suggested dates to when be the outing but no final decision
91 because of the busy schedule.
92 V. Adjournment of the Meeting
