7. All questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 questions of 5 marks, 2 questions of 3
marks and 2 questions of 2 marks has been provided. An internal choice has been provided in the 2
marks questions of Section E.
22
8. Draw neat figures wherever required. Take π = 7 wherever required if not stated.

Section A
Section A consists of 20 questions of 1 mark each.
Q. No Marks
1 A) 153 1
We know,
1st number × 2nd number = HCF × LCM
⇒ 27 × 2nd number = 9 × 459
9×459
⇒ 2nd number = = 153
27

2 1
A) 1440
96 = 25 × 3
360 = 23 × 32 × 5
LCM = 25 × 32 × 5 = 32 × 9 × 5 = 1440

3 Ans B) Real and distinct 1

4 (a + 20d) – (a + 6d) = 84
20d – 6d = 84
14d = 84 ⇒ d= 84/14 = 6

Ans A)
5 By BPT 1
Ans B)

6 2 1
And D) 3

7 B) intersects x-axis 1

8 A)-5 1

9 D) 19.4 1

10 C) 40 cm² 1

11 Ans: (A) 1
length of the arc = 360o x 2 πr

= 360o x 2 πr

= 72 /360 x 2 x 3.14 x 5
o o

= 6.28 cm

12 Ans: (B) 1

13 Ans C) 7cm 1

14 Ans: D) Mode = is 25 hence value of x=25 1

15 Ans A) Median=66/3=22 1

16 Ans B) b = 2a 1
17 D) 20° 1

18 D) 15° 1

19 A) Both Assertion and Reason are correct and Reason is the correct explanation for 1
Assertion

20 D) Both assertion and reason are false. 1

Section B
Section B consists of 5 questions of 2 marks each
Q.No Marks
21 n term from the end = l – (n – 1) d
th
2
∴ 10th term from the end = 254 – (10 – 1) × 5
= 254 – 45 = 209
OR
12, 18, 24, …,96
Here, a = 12, d = 18 – 12 = 6, an = 96
a + (n – 1)d = an
∴ 12 + (n – 1)6 = 96
⇒ (n − 1)6 = 96 – 12 = 84
⇒ n – 1 = 84/6 = 14
⇒ n = 14 + 1 = 15

22 AP = BP 2
AP2 = BP2 …[Squaring both sides
(x – 2)2 + (y – 5)2 = (x + 3)2 + (y – 7)2
⇒ x2 – 4x + 4 + y2 – 10y + 25 = x2 + 6x + 9 + y2 – 14y + 49
⇒ -4x – 10y – 6x + 14y = 9 +49 – 4 – 25
⇒ -10x + 4y = 29
∴ 10x + 29 = 4y is the required relation.

24 In ∆OAB, OA=OB , ∠1=320 angles opposite to equal sides equal. 2

∠1+∠2+320=1800
∠2+320+320=1800
∠2=1160
∠ACB=12 ×116=580
TAS is tangent to the circle. ∠x=∠ACB=580 angles in alternate segments are equal.
25 (a) 4/3 2

Section C
Section C consists of 6 questions of 3 marks each
Q.No Marks

26 Given that -5 is a root of the quadratic equation 2x2 + px – 15 = 0. 3

⇒ 2(-5)2 + p(-5) – 15 = 0
⇒ 50 – 5p – 15 = 0
⇒ 35 – 5p = 0
⇒ 5p = 35
⇒p=7
Also, the quadratic equation p(x2 + x) + k = 0 has equal roots.
Substituting p = 7 in p(x2 + x) + k = 0,
7(x2 + x) + k = 0
7x2 + 7x + k = 0
Comparing with the standard form ax2 + bx + c = 0,
a = 7, b = 7, c = k
For equal roots, discriminant is equal to 0.
b2 – 4ac = 0
(7)2 – 4(7)(k) = 0
49 – 28k = 0
28k = 49
k = 7/4
Therefore, the value of k is 7/4.

LHS
(sin 𝜃-cosec 𝜃)(cos 𝜃 -sec 𝜃)

=(sin² 𝜃 -1)(cos² 𝜃 -1)/sin 𝜃 cos 𝜃

=(1-sin² 𝜃)(1-cos² 𝜃)/sin 𝜃 cos 𝜃

=sin² 𝜃 cos² 𝜃 /sin 𝜃 cos 𝜃

=sin 𝜃 cos 𝜃

RHS
1/tan 𝜃 +cot 𝜃

=1/(sin 𝜃 /cos 𝜃 +cos 𝜃 /sin 𝜃)

=1/(sin² 𝜃 +cos² 𝜃 /sin 𝜃 cos 𝜃)

=sin 𝜃 cos 𝜃

hence, LHS=RHS

29 Let, f(x) = x² – 6x + p 3
From the given,
3α + 2β = 20———————(i)
From f(x),
α + β = 6———————(ii)
And,
αβ = p———————(iii)
Multiply equation (ii) by 2. Then, subtract the whole equation from equation (i),
=> α = 20 – 12 = 8
Now, substitute this value in equation (ii),
=> β = 6 – 8 = -2
Substitute the values of α and β in equation (iii) to get the value of y, such as;
p= αβ = (8)(-2) = -16

30 If we draw tangent from an external point to a circle then a line joining the given point 3
and center of a circle always bisect the angle formed by these two tangents.
∠1=∠2, ∠3=∠4
∠AED= ∠CEB Vertically opposite angle
∠1+∠2+∠3+∠4+∠CEB+∠AED=3600
2∠1+2∠3+2∠AED=3600
∠1+∠AED+∠3=1800
The sum of angles on a straight line is 1800. This shows that OEO’ are collinear.

PQ = 10 cm = x + y = 10 …(i)
QR = 8 cm = y + z = 8 …(ii)
PR = 12 cm = x + z = 12 …(iii)
By adding (i), (ii) and (iii),
We get,
⇒ 2x + 2y + 2z = 10 + 8 + 12
⇒ 2(x + y + z) = 30
⇒ x + y + z = 15
⇒ 10 + z = 15 … [From (i)
∴ z = 15 – 10 = 5 cm
From (ii)
y+5=8
y=8–5
y = 3 cm
From (iii)
x + 5 = 12
x = 12 – 5
x = 7 cm
∴ QM = 3 cm, RN = 5 cm, PL = 7 cm

BC = 12 cm, BD = 9 cm
As D is a point on the side BC
BC = BD + CD

CD = 3 cm

In ΔBAC and ΔADC

∠ADC = ∠BAC (Given)
∠C = ∠C (Common angle)

The ratio of sides is also equal.
BC : AC = AC : CD
AC × AC = BC × CD
AC = 12 × 3 = 36
