3.2 A simple RC circuit consists of a 1-F capacitor in series with a 5-kΩ resistor, a 12-V battery,
and an open switch. Initially, the capacitor is uncharged. How long after the switch is closed
will the voltage across the capacitor be 4.0 V? (5)
3.3 Use the information in the following RCL series circuit, and determine:
a the impedance of the circuit, and
b the phase angle between current and voltage for the circuit.

4.3 A circular flat coil of 200 turns of wire encloses an area of 100 cm2. The coil is immersed

4.4 A simple electric motor has a 100 turn circular coil of radius 15 mm that carries a 65 x 10-3
A current in a uniform magnetic field of magnitude B = 23 x 10-3 T. At one instant the coil
is oriented so that the area forms an angle = 25 ° with the magnetic field as shown in the
