with the topic of the T-Ss Teacher shows students 3 images and elicits the topic of healthy living.

Pre-teach language 5 mins

Matching activity- Students match 3 words in context with their definition (1 minute).

T-Ss Feedback to the class​.​ Teacher clarifies the meaning using CCQ’s.

Reading for gist 5 mins


To give students a
general idea of the text. T-Ss Teacher sets the first task:
● Read the 4 questions.
S ● Then read 4 short articles and match the articles and the questions.
● Read quickly and don’t worry if there are words you don’t know.
● You have 1 minute and a half.

S-S Pair-check

T-Ss Feedback to the class. ​Teacher writes the answers on the board.

Reading for detail 20 mins


Students will have a
deeper understanding T-Ss Teacher sets the second task:
of the text. ● Read the 8 questions and underline any unknown vocabulary.
S ● (Teacher checks if all Ss understand the questions).
● Then read the 4 articles more carefully and answer the questions.
● Read individually.

T-Ss Feedback to the class. ​Teacher acknowledges answers without validating them, and asks if
everybody agrees. Teacher encourages Ss to help each other in case of dispute. Teacher
writes the record of the answers on the board.
