Step by Step Guide

1. Download the Firmware Update Kit from the product page NDL-5.

(Visit the product page with your favorite web browser, scroll the page down a bit, and click the
Support tag, not to be confused with the "SUPPORT" tag on the navigation bar.)

1.1 Unzip the downloaded zip file to a directory of your choice.

2. Put the NDL-5 into DFU mode and connect it to your computer.

2.1 Press and HOLD the LOOP Footswitch, SAVE, and TEMPO buttons simultaneously while plugging in
the power cable.

2.2 Release the LOOP Footswitch, SAVE, and TEMPO buttons when you see "UP" on the screen.

2.3 Connect the USB Micro B cable to your computer and the NDL-5; you will see "UC" on the screen.

2.4 The NDL-5 will be recognized as a USB flash drive named 'NO NAME.' If it does not pop up
automatically, navigate to your Windows File Explorer or Finder on macOS to locate it.

3. Transfer the new firmware to the NDL-5.

3.1 Open the "NO NAME" drive and copy & paste the new firmware binary file into it.
3.2 Eject (or safely remove, in Windows terms) the 'NO NAME' flash drive, and then disconnect the
micro-B USB cable from your computer. You will see the prompt on the NDL-5 change back to 'UP.'

4. Start updating the firmware.

4.1 Press the LOOP footswitch to initiate the firmware update and wait for it to finish on its own. This
process will only last for less than a minute.

4.2 During this process, the ongoing progress percentage will constantly change from 00 to 99 and
then back to 00.

4.3 Eventually, the NDL-5 will reboot on its own and relocate to memory slot 001.

5. Finsh Updating.

5.1 If everything goes smoothly, you can now enjoy the new features introduced in the latest firmware
update.
