COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course, Introduction to Garment Construction consists of both theory and practical
in garment construction. The learner acquires the basic knowledge and professional skills
used in the construction of garments. Sewing techniques, including laying and cutting out
of skirt, construction and finishing. The learner will be guided to use both industrial and
domestic equipment to create sample skirts.

LECTURE DELIVERY METHOD

The class will be in form of Lecture/demonstration/ Practical Exercises and presentations.


Both traditional and advanced technology aids will be employed in the teaching and
learning processes.
OBJECTIVES

By the end of the semester, students will exhibit the followings:

1. Familiar with basic garment construction tools and equipment clothing industry.

2. Demonstrate knowledge on varieties of skirt production

3. Demonstrate knowledge on basic garment production processes

4. Knowledge on health/safety rules principles guiding working with the clothing


industries.
