In the following questions 9 and 10, a statement of assertion (A) is followed by a statement of
reason (R). Mark the correct choice as:
(a) Both Assertion (A) and Reason (R) are true and Reason(R) is the correct explanation of assertion (A).
(b) Both Assertion (A) and Reason (R) are true but Reason(R) is not the correct explanation of assertion (A).
(c) Assertion (A) is true but reason (R) is false.
(d) Assertion (A) is false but reason (R) is true.
9. Assertion (A): The region bounded by the curve y2 = 16x, Y-axis and the line y = 2 is 8/3.
2
Reason (R): Required area =  xdy
0

10. Assertion (A): The area bounded by the circle x2 + y2 = 16 is 16π sq. units.
Reason (R): We have x2 + y2 = 16, which is a circle having centre at (0, 0) and radius 4 units.
 y 2  16  x 2  y  16  x 2
