Thank you for taking time to go through this prospectus of the Nursing Institute
(Rebekah Ann Naylor Institute of Nursing), Bangalore Baptist Hospital (BBH).
If you are an aspiring student, we invite you to come and join us. We believe that
BBH is a place where you can learn, grow as a person, and also contribute. If you are
reading this as a guardian or a parent, we want to assure you that you are considering
a worthwhile profession for your child. The selection process is fair and this booklet
will guide you as to how to prepare for this.

Eligibility Requirements
Gen e ra l N u rs i n g a n d M i d w i fery Programme
Duration: Three years
1. The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years as on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
2. Minimum education:
• 10+2 class passed preferably Science (PCB) & English with aggregate of 40% marks. OR
• 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business
Studies,Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology,Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or
Health care Science - Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/
SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board with 40% marks. OR
• 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent Board from the School and recognized by Indian
Nursing Council with 40% marks. OR
• Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examination or Health care Science – Vocational stream ONLY conducted
by National Institute of Open School with 40% marks.
3. Ability to read, write and speak English since the medium of instruction is English

Duration: Four years
1. The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years as on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
2. Minimum education:
• 10+2 class passed with Science (PCB) & English must have obtained a minimum of 45% respectively.Those
candidates who belong to SC/ST or other backward classes must have obtained in PCB taken together in
qualifying examination a minimun of 40 % from a recognized Board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or
other equivalent Board.
• Students appearing in 10+2 examination in Science conducted by National Institute of Open School are also eligible
on the base of percentage as mentioned above.
3. Ability to read, write and speak English since the medium of instruction is English.
Application Procedure
The duly filled application form along with the copies of documents listed below should reach The Principal, Institute of
Nursing Bangalore Baptist Hospital Bellary Road, Hebbal, Bengaluru – 560024

• Legibly filled in application form in applicant’s own handwriting
• Copies of XII/ PUC certificate and Mark list/ Transfer Certificate (TC)
Method of Selection
1. A written examination will be conducted to test the candidate’s knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English,
General Knowledge and logical thinking
2. Short listed candidates will be called for an interview on the following day
4. The decision of the Selection Committee shall be final, Unsolicited correspondence will not be entertained.

Interview
Basic B.Sc Nursing
The written entrance examination for (2 hours) will be
starting at 9.00 am on Tuesday 7th July, 2020. The short
listed candidates will be interviewed on 9th & 10th July
2020.
Admission
General Nursing and Midwifery:
Selected candidates should report at the Nursing
Institute at 8.30 am on Tuesday, 1st September 2020
with their original documents, including TC.
NOTE:
• NO CASH PAYMENT WILL BE ACCEPTED.
• Payments need to be done in the name of BANGALORE BAPTIST HOSPITAL only through Demand
Draft (DD), Online Transfer, NEFT, RTGS or Cheque.
Health Check-up
Students will undergo a detailed health checkup after admission and every year thereafter. It is essential that nursing
students should be immunized against Hepatitis B. Certain medical conditions which would interfere with successful
completion of the course may result in rejection of admission/ discontinuation of the course. This will be at the discretion
Uniform
The uniform is prescribed by the Institute and will be made available to the students. Students are not
permitted to wear any form of jewellery when they are in uniform. Small ear studs are permitted. Hair
must be tied up. Dress code: Students are expected to be modestly dressed.
External Assessment
Board/University examinations are conducted at the end of every academic year. Only those students who
have passed in the internal examination will be eligible to appear for Board/ University examinations.
Religious Activities
Students have various avenues for spiritual development. Family prayer is conducted every evening. A
common chapel service is there for the entire staff and students on every Friday. Bible study and value
education sessions are conducted weekly. Student’s retreats are conducted on a regular basis. Anyone
who has an objection for attending the bible study and the worship service may obtain permission from
the principal at the time of admission.
Students are allowed to go home only two weekends in a month with prior written permission taken by the
Withdrawal or Discontinuation
If a student withdraws from the course within fifteen days of the date of admission, one-third of the total
amount paid at the time of admission will be forfeited.
Students who want to withdraw voluntarily after 15 days of commencement of the class shall be required
to pay full fees for the year.
A student who is dismissed/terminated due to unsatisfactory conduct or poor performance in studies will
not be eligible for any refund.
The institute reserves the right to dismiss anyone whose performance or conduct is not found satisfactory
