Important driver application & design-in warnings and instructions
Multi-channel operation:
- All three output channels share a common LED+ terminal
- Each channel can deliver an output current of 0.1 ... 2.0A (incl. dimming)
- Output channels cannot be connected in series
- Configured output current value (AOC) applies to all three channels simultaneously
- Output loading in Watt of the channels is allowed to be inequal
- Allowed forward voltage range of the connected LED module is dependent on output current (per channel):
a range of 200 ... 285V is supported between 1.2 and 2.0A
a range of 170 ... 285V is supported between 0.1 and 1.2A
- Dual-channel operation is supported: the driver has to be configured accordingly to prevent false partial lamp failure.
- Channel #1 must remain active since the MTP feature is embedded in this channel.
MTP feature:
- In case the MTP feature detects a missing NTC, the LEDs will blink 8 times before normal operation is resumed without thermal LED module derating.
- Approved NTC type: Murata NCP18XH103F03RB.
Output turn-off:
- Since the driver output is not insulated from the mains input, a faint glow can be seen from the LED modules when the driver is turned off via a DALI OFF
command. A driver-internal relay will disconnect the LED modules 90s after the DALI OFF command to eliminate glow.
Fusing information:
This driver is equipped with a SoftStart inrush current limiter. As a consequence, the limit on the number of drivers connected to an MCB/melting fuse is
based on the steady-state input current DVIXQFWLRQRIWKHUDWHGLQSuWYROWDJHs
Servicing:
Immediately after mains power-off, a voltage up to 650V may be present between either output and earth. This voltage will drop below 48V after no more
than 60 seconds. It is recommended to service the driver after this period of time.
Integration:
- The driver shall be integrated :
- In a mast: hooks are provided to hang the driver vertically with cable glands at the bottom side.
- In a cabinet: hooks or screws can be used to fixate the driver vertically with cable glands at the bottom.
- On the bracket of the luminaire: screws and fixing plates are provided to fixate the driver.
Cabling:
Three cables can be connected to the driver through corresponding cable glands to ensure IP66 rating:
− Cable gland for mains entry cable is M25, supporting a cable diameter range of 13 ... 18mm
− Cable gland for DALI cable is M20, supporting a cable diameter range of 6 ... 12mm
− Cable gland for LED cable output is M25, supporting a cable diameter range of 13 ... 18mm
The DALI cable gland is plugged with a blind cover by default. This cover must only be removed once a DALI cable is connected.
Surge immunity:
A bridge wire is by default inserted in two adjacent connector terminals. See the connection diagram at p.3 of this document. This wire must not be removed in
the final application in order to maintain specified driver surge immunity. Temporary removal is allowed during dielectric strength testing of the driver above
600Vac ("hi-pot testing") to prevent a false negative test result. This bridge wire must be reconnected as soon as this test has been finished. Failure to do may
result in premature driver and luminaire failure in the final application.
Use of a D4i/SR sensor with auxiliary 24V input:
- A Zhaga Book 18 receptacle is mounted on the top of the driver housing to enable mounting of a local D4i/SR sensor.
By default, this receptacle is not internally wired to the driver DA SR interface. A separate wiring loom is included as accessory.
The tinned wire ends of the wiring loom are intended to be pressed into the Zhaga connector, The other ends of the wiring
loom are equipped with crimped ferrules, intended to be inserted into the DA+, DA-/SGND and +24V connectors of the driver.
Supported control wiring options:
− Per remote D4i/SR sensor: via a 3-wire cable, connected to the DA SR interface. Max allowed cable length = 30m. Cabling must be running inside the cabinet or
inside the pole.
− Per local D4i/SR sensor and Zhaga receptacle: connected internally by wires to the DA SR interface. Wiring loom is included as accessory, intended to be
assembled by the installer. In that case the DALI cable gland cover must not be removed in order to maintain specified driver IP rating.
− Per remote DALI controller: via a 2-wire long-distance cable connected to the DA SR interface. Max allowed cable length = 300m. Only the use of the DA-/SGND
and DA+ lines are supported excl. the +24V line.
Remark:
The driver supports multiple control options. However, only one option can be used at a time:
− control by an external DALI controller connected via an external cable
− control by an external D4i/SR sensor connected via an external cable
− control by a local D4i/SR sensor mounted on the Zhaga receptacle.
