Group Work Instruction Guide and Registration Sheet

Instructions
 Form groups of at most 5 students to enable effective Discussions.
 Each individual or group will submit a Latex/Word Document of the research work
about all the items in the course content of the course outline, including examples,
illustrations, calculations, models, projects, experiments, demonstrations, animations,
pictorials and Real Life Applications (aimed at community problem solving).
Follow the university regulations when writing the final copy of your document.
 Every group will be given 20 minutes to present a summary of the work generated
strictly from the respective final document (including a developed project/product) in
class aided by the Beamer/Power Point presentation. Practical use of realia (real
objects), examples, illustrations, projects, experiments, demonstrations, animations,
pictorials and Real Life Applications is highly recommended. Compulsory emphasis
is on the Project and Product output including a brief written report on them.
 Discuss five standard Questions & provide their Marking Guide for this course unit.
 All students Must attend and participate in the group discussions/class presentations.
 Award for work done will depend on active participation of an Individual and or a
group. The use of ICT, T/L Aids, innovations, creativity, originality & peer teaching
is of added advantage.

Assigned tasks to groups and deadlines: Provide acknowledgement and references (APA format) of
your work. Use the Times New Roman Style, Font 12, Line Spacing 1.5 and justify your document.

ASSIGNMENT

Year 2 Semester 2

A. Individual Work

1. This is presented on the instruction sheet. Deadline is 20th February, 2025

2. Draw two schemes of work (following both the old secondary school format and the new
lower secondary school format) for a given term and class and write two lesson plans (following
both the old secondary school format and the new lower secondary school format) for the single
lesson in the seventh week of the term. Teach and record a video of the planned lesson of the
new curriculum for 40 minutes using creatively innovated instructional materials. Make a
decorated navigable file and therein insert all documents required for school practice. Terms and
classes for consideration will be given to you. Deadline is 1st March, 2025

3. Write three standard questions from the concept taught in A (2) and provide the suitable
marking guide. These questions must also be given to the learners at the end of the lesson and
their grades must be submitted to the instructor. Deadline is 10th March, 2025

4. Set an activity of integration and the assessment procedures about a Physics theme in line with
the new lower secondary school Physics framework. Deadline is 22nd March, 2025

B. Group Work

5 a) Develop five instructional materials using locally available materials that can be used to
teach Physics in resource constrained schools in Uganda. Show in a video recorded for 20
minutes how these materials can be used for teaching and learning Physics.

b) Develop i) three modules and ii) an app for teaching secondary school Physics.
Deadline is 1st April, 2025

C. Test

6. The test will be conducted on 10th April, 2025.

Note

Please be informed that the deadlines of the assignments must be respected. At the end of every
assignment and deadline, the course instructor expects the course coordinators to submit in all
students’ work. The students should not set their own deadlines for uniformity and management.
Let us cooperate and work together. Submit your work in accordance with the agreed deadlines.
