FACTORS OF CHOOSING ABM STRAND FOR FUTURE

CAREER PATHS

Background of the Study

For incoming senior high students, the ABM strand is

frequently ranked as one of the top choices (Malonda 2019). In the

Philippines, student applications to the ABM strand are increasing

rapidly. This developing problem is the result of a change in Filipino

lifestyle in which we have become more business-oriented and

practical in our decision-making.

(Soriano 2020) show that most students, like her, want to be

entrepreneurs and hope to create their own businesses in the future.

(Tucker 2021) agrees with the assertion that studying business is

practical because there are several opportunities to obtain work

immediately in our country’s rapidly increasing economy. As a result,

ABM is the ideal course for students because it rapidly trains and

prepares them to work in and out of the country. Because of our

country’s rapidly expanding economy. It provides an opportunity for

entrepreneurs to grow their enterprises.


The shifting patterns of Filipino ”Ivin’ in relation to the

economy have a wide-ranging impact on our future careers. At the

present, students are having difficulty deciding which strand to use.

ABM strand offers a variety of sources with nine specialization

subjects, namely: Organization and Management, Business

Mathematics, Principles of Marketing, Fundamentals of Accountancy,

Business and Management 1 and 2, Business Finance, Applied

Economics, Business Ethics, and Social Responsibility.

The extra two years spent in Senior High The goal of education

was to prepare pupils for postsecondary education. Entrepreneurship,

middle-level skill development, and worldwide occupation (Acosta &

Acosta, 2020).

A thread under accounting, business, and management the

course of study intended for pupils who are intending to get a degree in

business and commerce in their third tier. With this curriculum, the

learners in this focus will be gaining advanced understanding and

promoting the traits and mindsets needed to adopt a business-oriented

mindset individual. With backing from Abun, Belandres, Foronda, and

According to Magallanez (2019), the advantages of joining an ABM

student is that it strengthens their capacity for entrepreneurship

mindset. As a result, it says that ABM is a useful introductory course

for postsecondary education programs with a business focus.


This study aims to understand of knowing the factors of

choosing ABM strand for future career paths and for the better

lifestyle.
