Research Group Contract

This Research Group Contract ("Contract") is entered into by and

between the members of the research group ("Group") and the
individuals listed below. By signing this Contract, all members agree
to adhere to the terms and conditions outlined herein.

1. Voluntary Participation & Irrevocability

1.1 Voluntary Participation: All members join the research group of
their own free will. Participation is entirely voluntary, and individuals may
choose to join or refrain from joining the group.
1.2 Irrevocability: Once a member joins the group, they are committed
to the group for the duration of the research project. Members are not
permitted to change, trade, or eliminate any members from the group
after their initial commitment. Any attempt to alter the membership of
the group will result in failure of the project for the entire group, as the
integrity of the group dynamics will be compromised.
2. Group Roles and Responsibilities
2.1 Role Assignment: Each member will be assigned specific roles and
responsibilities based on their skills, expertise, and interests. All
members agree to respect the role distribution and contribute to the
completion of tasks assigned.
2.2 Equitable Contribution: All members are expected to contribute
fairly to the research project. Members are encouraged to openly
communicate if they require assistance or additional resources to meet
their responsibilities.
3. Collaboration and Communication
3.1 Regular Meetings: The group will meet regularly to discuss
progress, address challenges, and update each other on individual tasks.
The frequency and format of these meetings will be agreed upon by the
group at the start of the project.
3.2 Effective Communication: Members will maintain open and honest
communication throughout the duration of the project. Any conflicts,
misunderstandings, or concerns should be raised promptly in a respectful
manner to facilitate resolution.
4. Commitment to Deadlines
4.1 Adherence to Deadlines: Each member agrees to meet the
deadlines set by the group for each phase of the research project. Failure
to meet deadlines will be addressed and may result in reassignment of
tasks to ensure the project stays on track.
4.2 Consequences of Delayed Contributions: In the event that a
member's failure to meet a deadline causes a delay to the overall project,
the group will discuss the situation and may implement corrective
actions, which could include redistributing the delayed member’s tasks.
5. Decision-Making Process
5.1 Group Consensus: All major decisions related to the research,
including methodology, data analysis, and final reports, will be made by
group consensus. Each member has an equal say in the decision-making
process.
5.2 Dispute Resolution: In case of disagreements, members will first
attempt to resolve the conflict through discussion. If the dispute remains

unresolved, an impartial third-party (such as an advisor or mentor) will be
brought in to help mediate and make a final decision.
6. Academic Integrity
6.1 Plagiarism-Free Work: All members agree to maintain the highest
standards of academic integrity, ensuring that all work produced by the
group is original or properly cited. Any instance of plagiarism will result in
immediate expulsion from the group and possible academic
consequences.

6.2 Confidentiality: All members agree to maintain confidentiality

regarding research findings, group discussions, and personal information
shared within the group. Any breach of confidentiality may result in
removal from the group.
7. Violation of Contract
7.1 Consequences of Violation: Any violation of the terms of this contract,
whether by failing to meet deadlines, breaching confidentiality, engaging
in plagiarism, or any other misconduct, shall result in the failure of the
individual member involved or the entire group. The severity of the
violation will be assessed, and the group may implement corrective
actions, including the possible termination of the offending member’s
participation.
7.2 Failure of the Entire Group: If a group member’s violation jeopardizes
the integrity or progress of the project, leading to the failure of the group,
all members will be held responsible, and the project will be considered
unsuccessful.
8. Termination Clause
8.1 Removal of Member: In extreme cases where a member fails to
contribute adequately, violates the terms of the contract, or disrupts the
group's progress, the group may collectively decide to terminate their
membership. Such a decision requires unanimous agreement from the
remaining members and the project advisor's approval. This will
automatically result in the failure of the entire group.
8.2 Voluntary Exit: If a member voluntarily chooses to leave the group,
the member acknowledges that they will be subject to the failure clause,
and no alternative or replacement member will be accepted. This will
automatically result in the failure of the student.
9. Acknowledgment of Risk
9.1 Risk of Failure: All members acknowledge that the success of the
project is dependent on each individual’s participation and commitment.
Any deviation from the terms of this contract can result in the failure of
the project.
10. Other Provisions
10.1 Amendment: This contract may only be amended by unanimous
consent of all group members and any relevant academic authorities,
such as the project advisor.
10.2 Indemnity: Each member agrees to hold the other members
harmless in the event that any legal or academic issues arise due to the
failure to comply with the terms of this contract.
10. Signatures
By signing this contract, each member confirms that they fully understand and
agree to the terms and conditions outlined above.
