My City Tour: A Visual Guide
Project Description:
Create a colorful and informative poster showcasing interesting places in your city. Include clear directions on
how to reach each location. You will need to collect information and pictures, then design and present your
poster to the class.
Project Criteria (5 Marks):

 Content Knowledge (1 Mark):

Accurately identifies at least 3 interesting places in the city.


Provides clear and concise directions to each location.
Includes relevant and interesting details about each place at least two sentences about each place.

 Visual Presentation (1 Mark):

Creates a visually appealing poster with clear and legible text.


Uses a variety of colors, fonts, and images to make the poster engaging.
Organizes the information in a logical and easy-to-follow manner.

 Oral Presentation (3 Marks):

1. Confidence and Delivery (1 Mark):


 Speaks with confidence and enthusiasm.
 Maintains good eye contact with the audience.
 Uses appropriate body language and gestures.
2. Clarity and Fluency (1 Mark):
 Speaks clearly and fluently.
 Pronounces words correctly.
 Uses appropriate vocabulary and grammar.
3. Organization and Structure (1 Mark):
 Presents information in a logical and organized manner.
 Uses clear linkers between ideas.
 Concludes the presentation effectively.

Application Phase:
1. Research and Information Gathering:
 Identify Local Landmarks: Discuss with your family and friends to identify at least three interesting
places in your city.
 Collect Information: Research these places using books, the internet, or by asking adults.
o What makes these places special?
o What is the history behind them?
o What activities can people do there?
 Gather Visuals: Take photos or find images of these places. You can use a camera, your phone, or search
online for pictures.
2. Planning the Poster:
 Layout: Sketch a basic layout for your poster. Decide where you will place the pictures, text, and
directions.
 Content: Write short, informative descriptions of each place.
 Directions: Write clear directions on how to reach each place. Use simple language and directional terms
like "go straight," "turn left," and "turn right."
3. Creating the Poster:
 Design: Use colorful markers, crayons, or paint to decorate your poster.
 Text: Write neatly and legibly. Use a variety of fonts and sizes to make your poster visually appealing.
 Images: Glue or tape your pictures onto the poster.
 Organization: Arrange the information in a logical and easy-to-follow manner.
4. Preparing for the Presentation:
 Practice: Rehearse your presentation in front of a mirror or a family member.
 Confidence: Speak clearly and confidently.
 Eye Contact: Maintain eye contact with your audience.
 Body Language: Use gestures to emphasize your points.

Timeline:
- Making the poster, in class, on Wednesday 18th of December. Come to the class prepared with all your
tools (Plastic scissors, A3 canson sheets, crayons, markers, glue ..etc.)

- Assessment Day on Sunday 22nd of December.
