REFLECTIVE JOURNAL 3
REFLECTIVE JOURNAL 3
As I design interesting activities which can attract the pupils’ attention, I also discover
that the knowledge outcome from the lesson is not that much significant. This is because
when the pupils delve too much on the activity itself rather than the knowledge output,
they do not learn much from the lesson. In my observation, I spot that they learn the
content knowledge faster through traditional methods such as doing worksheets and
reading text. Through these methods, they acquire the knowledge directly but the
setback is that it is quite traditional and boring for the pupils.
Based on the research by Baghaei & Riasati (2015), they highlight that the relationship
between the incorporation of creative elements in teaching with the effectiveness in
gaining knowledge for the pupils. This is because creative activities in the class
sometimes does not work properly as pupils are more excited for the activities itself
rather than the knowledge. This scenario poses a problem where pupil does not gain the
main input from each lesson.
According to the research by Baghaei & Riasati (2015), they suggest that creativity is
important in designing lesson plan but it still need to be instilled with great knowledge so
that the pupils can gain the maximum potential from the learning. The study suggests
that the factors influencing creative teaching in Integrative activities were personality
traits, family factors, experiences of growth and education and also beliefs in teaching. It
suggests methods like student-centered activities, a connection between teaching and
real life, open-ended questions and the use of technology.

Based on the observation, as I also relate it with the study, I need to use more
technological approach to teach the pupils as they are more engaged in technological
based activities. By using digital apps to do activities, the amount of input given and the
creativity in learning can be balanced for both factors.

9. Kesimpulan / Refleksi
To conclude the issue for this week, teaching pupils need more creativity from the
teacher as pupils have different styles of learning. However, the activities must be
arranged properly to suit the learning objectives of the lesson. All in all, as a teacher, I
still need to creative but cannot ignore the main objectives and content of the lesson.
