Course Requirements

The assessment of your performance in this course is through what is called authentic/alternative
assessment. Authentic/alternative assessment takes the practical approach to evaluating students’
performance in a course. From the term authentic, students are given opportunities to practice real
life/real world applications of knowledge through the likes of reflection and analysis, performance,
research, product/output, portfolio etc. In short, it does not use the usual/traditional pen and paper tests
and high-stakes examinations where students need to recall concepts and give definite answers. What you
will demonstrate is your understanding, analysis, and synthesis of the lessons. In this course, you will
apply what you learned by looking at different situations or scenarios, as well as in your personal life
through reflections using the lessons in the course.
