After 1.17 the aspects decline in nature and

tend to restlessness depression and dissatisfaction,
which many will manifest as melancholia unless an
effort is made to keep cheerful and optimistic.
There is no use in letting the mind run down the
scale to dispair just because Moon and Saturn conflict
—true, their vibrations produce some physical disturb
ance, but don’t let the mind reflect it.

Tuesday, 3rd– Moon 19° 26' in Pisces. A fairly good

day for all general activities, especially those things
which require effort. By being alert today one can ac
complish a great deal of useful or necessary work.
Wednesday, 4th–Moon enters Aries at 0: 13 A. M.

at 7.31 A. M. An excellent day for all matters of im

these aspects usually produce a feeling of ease and
contentment and not much will be done unless a real
effort is made to stir about actively, and attend to *n

New Moon. First Quarter begins on 7th at 1.02 p. m.

Saturday, 7th–Moon 11° 33' in Taurus. The Moon is

drawing to a conjunction with the Sun in Taurus,
sign of the throat, until 1:02 p. m. The conjunction
of the Luminaries sometime produces a negative phy
sical condition due to the intense action of metabolism
taking place within the being. It is considered best to
do things after the conjunction rather than before. This
afternoon and evening finds excellent aspects in opera
tion, making a good time for all industrious efforts,
mental and physical, business or social. Correspond,
study, meditate or recreate.
Sunday, 8th–Moon 25° 24' in Taurus at 4 A. M. Pa

Thursday, 12th–Moon 22° 38' in Cancer and enters

Friday, 13th–Moon 7 degress in Leo at 4 A. M. Pa

INFLUENCE OF THE NEW MOON

BETWEEN JUNE 6TH AND JULY 5TH.
According to Astrology
T the time of New Moon on June 6th, 1:05 A. M.,
Washington, D. C., mean time, the first degree of
Aries is rising on Eastern horizon, Mars, its planetary
ruler, is posited in third house of the chart in Gemini,
with the luminaries closely approaching, producing
alarming reports, and much agitation concerning postal
affairs, matters of transit, publishing, labor, education
and health.
Mercury in fourth section in Cancer square to Jupi
ter in Virgo is not auspitious for crops and matters of
produce is apt to bring some concern. The harvest
situation this year is apt to be identical with volume
but value slightly less than that of ast year.
Jupiter and Saturn in Sixth with the greater lumi
naries in adverse aspect to Saturn until the 9th, is an
inauspicious augury for public health and unfavor
able for labor conditions; while Uranus in 12th house,
opposed by these two planets, indicates trouble for
large institutions, hospitals, jails and large manufac
turing plants.
Venus is in the Ascendant in this chart in its own
sign Taurus, denoting a more hopeful, cheerful and
optimistic public attitude, with some financial im
provement. Conditions relating to foreign treaties are
likely to be better.

GENERAL OUT LOOK FOR THE SUMMER

QUARTER, 1921.
-

Between June 21st and September 23rd.

According to Astrology

At the moment of Summer Solstice, June 21st 6:28

P. M., Washington, D. C., mean time, the sign Sagit
tarious is rising, with Jupiter, its planetary ruler posited
in 9th house of chart, made for the above data. This
brings strongly forward matters of religion, science,
philosophy, invention, law, and legal interests concern
ed with foreign nations, as well as matters of shipping
and foreign commerce. Jupiter being close to Saturn
gives attention particularly to matters of long standing
and of ponderous nature. The Moon in ascendant go
ing to a good aspect with Jupiter indicates that such
matters will proceed with general public approval and
favor.
There are indications of improvement in all means
of communication, especially electric and aerial. Pos
tal service will improve and there should be an un
usual amount Of travel.
Venus in 5th domain denotes benefit to amusement
resorts, increase in marriage and birth rate, much
speculation and decrease in price of cereals. Advance
in educational and hygienic measures, some improve
ment of laboring conditions. Women will achieve
honors in field of science and art.
Some agitating questions will arise with foreign
powers, producing danger of war, which will revert to
diplomatic negotiations. The demise is indicated of
some noted writer along financial or historical sub

money market and numerous mysterious deaths re
corded.
The period between June 20th and July 20th is re

be accomplished in this period with restored confi
dence and plans for future business activity.

PLANETARY METEOROLOGY
Editor Llewellyn George—
Dear Friend:—As promised previously we are en
closing another “Meteorological Forecast,” prepared
in a long range way for six months or so into the fu
ture.
Our last endeavor in this line proved, we know, of
much interest to your many readers, especially men
tion of storm for last of January, which will be “long
remembered” at many points along the Pacific Coast.
Our mention of disturbance ranging around the 12th
of March—Sun Opposition Saturn—has just passed,
producing one of the heaviest deluges we have had
in this section, Saturday evening and late Sunday af
ternoon. This affect was felt at Los Angeles, to be
gin then sweeping up this way eventually, proving Our
contention that Saturn, on the equinox influences
storm development far south on this coast.

KGººgººd
Following the 12th, as forecasted here, a disturb
ance to follow for the 17th, 18th, 19th. On the even

for the close of March. Showers for April 2-6. Hail
storms or cyclonic wind is shown for late on the after
noon of the 9th. There being an “anular eclipse of
the Sun”. April 8th, in the second decanate of the sign
Aries, said eclipse is recorded as not favorable for
plant, tree and cereal growth. Ranging around 12th
of April, when on latter date Jupiter centers in paral

April 21st, with Neptune then “stationary,” that there
are indications of heavy electrical storms, with a
strong probability of sudden destructive changes of
temperature or heavy hail storms at various localized
points on this coast. Earthquake disturbances are
also indicated especially for western Nevada and the
Sierra Range, also volcanic activity at Mt. Lassen,
there being five planets in the fixed signs Taurus, Leo

From April 30th to May 6th, unusual weather is in

ed in this sign, the Ascendant. This is one of the intel

lectual signs and those who are born in it have good
mental abilities, have active, flexible mind, particularly
good for writing, study and speaking. He is fond of
books, can learn easily, is versatle, inventive and can
apply his mind to many subjects having quick percept
ion, good reasoning powers, thoughtfulness and intuit
ion. He should receive a good education, having abil
ity for languages, science and the most advanced phil
osophies and occult studies. He may be lacking at
times in concentration and perseverance, and be ir
resolute and changeable, or liable to worry, irritation,
nervousnes or reserve. In personal appearance, he is
likely to be tall, well-formed, good compexion, brown
hair; intellectual and cultured; his disposition 1s good,
sympathetic, quick and active.

Mercury's influence is over the mind and nerves and

bestows ingenuity, adaptability, wit and good memory;
also cleverness and fluency in conversation. But his
whole nature will seldom be shown to the world, as
there is a fine element of reserve and understanding
of the true nature of others. He may occupy himself
with too many subjects or change too rapidly. He has
a keen perception and intuition that will see the
truth under quite opposite disguises.

The Moon in Capricorn indicates ambition and de

sire for fame and leadership; he will be popular and
court responsibility.
INDIVIDUALITY.
The vital principle of the Sun in Taurus gives a
determined, persistent, patient, enduring, practical na
ture, at times dogmatic and obstinate; there will be a
tendency to become more reserved, authoratative, firm
and inflexible as life advances. This is very good, to

offset the restless changefulness of Mercury de

scribed above, as ruler of Ascendant. Beneath all his
firmness will be a warm heart and he will ever be
generous and affectionate. His character is dignified,
cautious and careful, and when slow to come to a de
cision, his judgment can be relied upon.

THE POLARITIES.
Blending the influence of the Sun in Taurus and the
Moon in Capricorn, representing his individual and
personal characteristics, it may be judged that he has
a very positive, determined and independent nature, with
ability to turn the mind to general principles, business,
music or art. He has a great love of wealth and
grandeur, and will desire to obtain position and honor;
he will reason and plan well, have excellent ability for
organizing. He can, and should be aided to develop,
will power and self control necessary to be fortified
against disappointment. It is possible for him to re
main calm under exciting circumstances and he is
more fitted for public than private life.
MOON IN CAPRICORN
This may bring in contact with the public
him
where he will meet both popularity and opposition. He
will meet people who travel much or lead bohemian
lives. Long voyages would be dangerous and should
not be undertaken except under the best of aspects for
travel. Marriage would best be avoided, especially at
an early age.
TRAVEL
Mars and Neptune in the third house of this chart
is not good for travel, inclining to accidents or trials
and extraordinary experiences while travelling. In a
general sense Mars causes the mind to be very hasty
and impulsive. This influence also denotes trouble or
annoyance and disputes with brethren or relatives;

views. Uranus could hardly have a better position

than in the house of “higher mind” and in its own
Page

also peculiar or strange relatives, hard to understand.

He should be guarded always in speech and corre
spondence; he will have plenty of mental courage, but
should learn restraint in expressing himself.

PHILOSPHY.
Uranus, the mystical and occult planet, occupies the
9th house of this chart, which concerns long journeys
and the “higher mind”; this shows an interest in
astrology and kindred subjects and very advanced

sign Aquarus, with which it is in harmony, and it also

has good aspects with Mercury and Venus, showing
that he is not only eminently fitted for very progres
sive studies along nearly all lines but that he will Ob
tain much happiness from them, when impulse has
been Overcome.
FRIENDS
31

Jupiter in the eleventh house in this chart is very good

and a very happy tesimony that he will never be in
want of a friend and those friends will be generous
and probably able and willing to help him, should
their aid be required. He will have religious, wealthy
and philosophical friends, very well disposed and some,
more than likely, will be born under the influence Of
the planet Jupiter. This position of Jupiter, bene
fited by Mercury, Mars and Uranus, shows that this
child should realize many of his hopes and wishes along
higher lines, but not along personal and selfish lines.
MOON OPPOSITION SATURN

A strong adverse aspect between Moon in the 7th

house of partners, and Saturn influencing both first
and second houses (the person and his money) is an

aspect of fate which will bring its measure of mis

fortune and sorrow into the life, and these afflictions
will concern his partners in business or marriage
partner, his domestic life and his money. This aspect
limits and binds and the best way to counteract these
seeming evils is to sacrifice the lower nature as
quickly as possible, overcome selfishness and dis
content. He is likely to feel loss and disappointment
keenly and can be much helped in early years and
protected for the future by being taught to philosoph
ically rise above personal disappointments. He will
be thwarted at times by his elders or by superiors.
Despondency, poor circulation and nervousness may
effect his health, but can be overcome by hope, cheer
ful surroundings, activity and New Thought.

MOON OPPOSITION VENUS.

The planet Venus is ruler of the birth month sign

Taurus; the position of Venus in Cancer increases
the affectional nature and inclines him to be home
loving and domesticated, as far as the feelings are
concerned, and he has the parental instinct to give
help and protection to children. At the same time
different characteristics would lead him in an oppo
site direction; and the Moon opposition Venus will
at times bring sorrow and disappointment in love af.
fairs and domestic matters; there is danger of care
lessness, extravagance or excess in pleasure, and of
disagreement and complications with the opposite
sex. He can be saved a great deal of trouble and
personal suffering in future, if he is taught as a child

GºGºRº
to be always unselfish with the opposite sex, never
to quarrel or dispute with them, but always be har
monious and restrain his own feelings and wishes.
This aspect and position of the planets inclines
strongly to squandering money for pleasure.

MERCURY SEXT LE MARS.

Mars in Leo is benefited by Mercury and Jupiter,
but in adverse opposition to Uranus. He is capable
of positions of trust, authority and responsibility and
during good “directions” to Mars, will have success
and good fortune through Government affairs and peo
ple of high rank. He will be fond of strenuous
sports, adventure, risky enterprises and occult phe
nomena. This child is quick, lively, practical, skill
ful, versatile, with Splendid mental and business abil
ity; he will find interest and success in drawing, mu
sic, carving, designing, chemistry, medicine, science
and in investigating all practical methods and appli
cations in the mechanical or literary world.
MERCURY SEXTILE JUPITER.
These planets are well placed and in fortunate as
pect—Mercury in its own sign Gemini, most favor
able for mental expression; versatile, creative, in
spirational; Jupiter the planet of greater fortune in
the sign of leadership Aries, and in the eleventh,
house of friends, hopes and wishes. He will have
magnanimous and brilliant ideas, good judgment; and
in association with Jupiterian friends, who are likely
to be influential, philosophical, progressive people, he
may enter humanitarian or otherwise big projects and
will be well gifted by nature to take the lead in such
affairs. He will be positive in his views and possess
very liberal religious ideas. He should allow his
imagination to carry him into the inner world and
to realize that the “Kingdom of Heaven” is within.
MERCURY QUINDECILE SATURN.

and an unobtrusive power over others. He will gain
through tact, diplomacy, caution and perseverance
This position denotes a measure of success in any
capacity with large corporations, real estate, mining,
or as a mental healer, lecturer, publisher, etc.
MERCURY TRINE URANUS.
Mercury in the first house trine to Uranus in the
ninth, each planet harmoniously placed in its own
Sign is one of the most powerful positions these plan
ets could have; this bestows intuitive perception, in
ventive ability, an original and inspired mind. He
should become a great scholar or be eminently suc
cessful in literature, the arts and sciences, or Astrol
ogy, for he has wonderful comprehension, good judg
Iment.
This aspect taken by itself, is good for long jour
neys, in contradictory testimony to an aspect of Mars
opposition Uranus, so he should be careful not to
journey when Mars or Uranus are afflicted, or when
the Progressed Moon is adverse to Mars or Uranus in
his natal chart. As life advances he can perfect his
personal expression by striving always for unselfish.
ness and self control, and he will become more deeply
interested in higher thought and more conscious of
the spiritual man within himself.
VENUS SEMI-SQUARE SUN.
The planet Venus is afflicted by adverse aspects;
Venus in Cancer gives love of home, a loving and
emotional nature and great affection for his mother.
Venus Semi-Square Sun inclines a person to extrav
agance, pleasure and luxury and is an indication of
unfortunate or secret love affairs; losses in specula
tion. He should be guarded in his speech and actions

and emotions are involved.

This aspect bestows similar inclinations to the one

just described, Venus Semi-Square Sun, and only ac
centuates it. He may suffer loss through excesses,
extravagance; also through partnerships and through
impulsively entering business or speculative enter
prises. At times the social standing will suffer under
this aspect, that is when “directions” of the progres
sive chart make it operative and these may be oppo
sition or loss of friends through enmity or jealousy.
VENUS CONJUNCTION SATURN.
Venus conjunction Saturn is a peculiar position and
difficult to interpret, owing to the fact that but few
can respond to its higher vibrations and its lower vi
brations bring more or less disappointment in pleas
ures and in the strongly personal desires, often de
lays marriage, and causes Sorrow through death Of
partner. Although these planets are posited in the
first house of the chart, their influence extends to the
second, house of money. Saturn tends to make an
uphill struggle and much work for little gain; he
would see many Opportunities but not always be in
a financial position to take advantage of them. On
account of this position he should be benefited by the
study of Astrology, becoming familiar with the “direc
tinos” operating in his progressive chart, to avoid finan
cial loss and failure in Saturnine business, as property,
mines, investments, stocks, building, etc.

This aspect, taken alone, inclines him to be con

servative, shrewd, thrifty and a keen judge of finan
cial matters; also fond of all things mystical, ancient
and antique. It indicates a sorrow through the death
of a sweetheart, and sorrow through disappointment

in an early love affair.

VENUS BIOUINTILE URANUS.
This slightly good aspect shows fondness for music
and art, and bestows an attractive personality that
will gain him many friends and acquaintances and
sometimes good fortune through friends, or strangers
and peculiar circumstances. He is likely to have ar
tistic ideas that are very original or considered ec
centric by others.
VENUS VIGINTILE NEPTUNE.
A slightly good aspect between Venus and Neptune
broadens the sympathies and refines the love nature,
rendering him deeply sensitive to the beauty of na
ture and the sea, and easily won over to lofty ideals
of life and conduct.

SUN SQUARE MARS.

This child is at times very impetuous and excitable
and he wil not always be able to explain his feelings;
therefore, care should be taken when he is influenced
by this aspect, not to excite him more, or force him
in any way, but letting him alone; quiet repose will
be the best. At these and other adverse periods, it
would be wise to guard against accidents and not take
him among great crowds or on any journeys. He
should be guarded against fire and fire-arms and
should an operation be necessary at any time in life,
a good time should be chosen by an Astrologer or
one who had sufficiently studied the matter; as an
operation under this adverse aspect of Sun to Mars.
would be decidedly dangerous. This position and
aspect of Mars gives a tendency to feverish com
plaints, muscular rheumatism in the back, enlarge
ment and palpitation of heart, fainting and inflam

mation of the pericardium and an excitable, impul

sive mind.
SUN SEM I-QUINTILE JUPITER.
This slightly good aspect increases the chances for
success in life and indicates influential friends and
benefit through them; he will have periods of pros
perity, where every undertaking succeeds; he will rise
in popularity and esteem in his community and may
gain much credit with philanthropic undertakings.
Under this aspect or at periods in his life when this
aspect is operative, he will form lasting friendships
of mutual benefit. He will enjoy social life and func
tions and respect the conventions of his environment.
This aspect bestows health and will partially offset
the Sun's adverse aspect to Mars. His health should
be guarded carefully when the Sun afflicts Mars, es
pecially each year about the period of November 10th
to 22nd; February 8th to 19th; May 10th to 22nd, and
August 11 to 22nd, as the Sun then transits adverse
aspects to the Natal Mars.

SUN SEMI-SQUARE SATURN.

The Sun Semi-square Saturn is an unfortunate
aspect, with the Sun in the 12th, house of trouble
and limitation, and may bring some secret sorrows
into the life. Sometimes he will be unable to achieve
his ambitions, either through interference of elders
or lack of opportunity. Delays and hindrances will
sometimes upset his plans. The health may be upset
on account of imperfect circulation of the blood. No.
ble ideas inculcated in youth and training of the moral
nature will improve his general conditions all through
the life.

spirational nature and inclination for law, philosophy

and religion. The mystical planet Neptune is bene
ficial to spiritual growth and the greatest expansion
of his consciousness will arise from experiences of
a psychic or spiritual nature which we would have great
difficulty, if not reticence in describing to others.
Childish experiences of this nature and childish imag
inations and dreams should be treated with the ut
most respect and consideration and if parents some
times do not understand what a child is trying to
explain, they should be most careful never to ridicule
or tell the child “It’s nonsense,” because they cannot
know what wonderful results these “dreams” will
have in later years. Many children display clairvoy
ant powers, which are misunderstood and injured by
parents who do not comprehend the experiences their
children are having.
MARS TRINE JUPITER.
This child loves freedom and independence and will
not be imposed upon; will chafe under restrictions
unless the reason is explained. When he decides on
any course of action, he will enter it with vim, con
fidence and enthusiasm, and imbue others with his
own spirit and inspire them to action. This aspect
is fortunate for friendships and for the realization
of wishes; but it inclines to extravagance where they
are concerned and he should be taught that, as his
planets incline to recklessness and over-liberality, he
should avoid going to extremes.
MARS SEMI-SQUARE SATURN.

GºGºRº
From this chart it appears that self-control is the
keynote of what this child should be taught; it is the
supreme lesson that he should learn if he would be
successful and find satisfaction in life. Mars in the
third, house of the conscious mind, is adverse to Sat

urn, governing the person himself and his money; this

is most unfavorable for One who has not learned to
practice entire self control and inclines one to say
more than is wise, in sarcasm and bitterness, or to be
violent under great provocation. There is danger of
39

trouble and disagreement with relatives and financial

loss through them, especially troubles with wife's
brothers. The Moon afflicted near the cusp of eighth
house shows little chance of receiving legacy, or, Of
one was received, there is probability of its being
wasted on pleasure, or lost through speculations.

MARS OPPOSITION URAN U.S.

This aspect gives an inclination to be erratic, ec
centric, irritable, or too enthusiastic and forceful at
times. This arises from an over-wrought condition
of the nerves and he should endeavor to be calm and
not so rashly inclined; so again we see that self con
trol is the main lesson this child should learn. He
can learn anything else with no trouble at all, he has
such a marvelous mind, but self control will require
real effort and constant perseverance. Most events
in his life will be sudden and unexpected and there
may be legal difficulties, possibly over inheritance or
marital affairs.
JUPITER SEXTILE U RAN U.S.

The beneficent aspect of Jupiter sextile Uranus will

aid him greatly in overcoming the adverse tendencies
mentioned in preceding paragraph, because of the
great interest and aptitude this gives him for meta
physical and occult subjects. He should become
prominent through doing something new, daring,
original or inspired, and the more impersonal he be
comes, the greater will be his accomplishments. To
have a home of his own, or a business of his own—

he must not stop at these, but go on higher—some

thing of the Universal is his destiny.
JUPITER SQUARE NEPTUNE.
This unfavorable aspect indicates that some of the
faculties represented by this square, such as supersti
tion, self esteem and personal pride need to be spiritual
ized and transmuted into higher attributes such as
charity and compassion. He should cultivate the ex
act and precise virtues, such as accuracy in speech,
promptness in all duties, especially financial obliga
tions, for there is a tendency to carelessness in such
matters. In speech he is liable to be carried away
by
his feelings. There is some possibility of deception
on the part of friends or relatives, which could in
volve either finances, or correspondence; in specula
tion he is more likely to lose than gain.
RE MARKS.
His health will be variable; sickness caused through
stomach trouble and feverish complaints. However,
his constitution will be strong, and he is apt to live
to old age, his personality and projects improving
with years. -

He is capable of acquiring a good education and

should be sent to college and allowed to choose his
vocation in professional lines. He would make an
excellent lawyer or editor.

Ans.: —Astronomers calculate the Moon's place not

in the Zodiac but in the Constellations, which is a belt
with the same names but is not coincident with the
Zodiac, there being a difference of as much as sixty •
hours in advance. Almanacs usually give the Moon's
place as per the Constellations, which are incorrect
for planting or other Astrological places.
Ifseed is planted when the Almanac says Moon in
Cancer (a very fruitful Sign) it will not produce the
Oxpected results because the Moon in actuality is in
the SIGN Gemini (a very barren sign.)
Many farmers, not knowing about this difference,
who tried planting only by the common Almanacs,
have given the attempt up in disgust. But if they
had planted according to the Moon's Sign as given
Astrologically they would have met with the bene
ficial results that thousands of others have gained who
used the moon's signs correctly.

Quest.—To what planet should I pray to be healed

of a sickness? Subscriber A. O. S.
Ans.—Do not pray to any planet. Pray to that
which you know as God. But pray at an auspicious
time, i. e., when the air is impregnated with har
monious influences for the matter desired. In the
case of a sickness first choose a day when the Moon
is in conjunction or in sextile or trine with the planet
that rules the part of body mainly affected and then
choose the hour of that day for your prayerful medita
tion which is ruled by that same planet. For instance,
if afflicted by some disarrangement of the action of the
liver choose the days of good aspects to the planet
Jupiter and on those days meditate, pray and auto-sug
gest in the planetary hours of Jupiter. If troubled
with the knees, choose a day when the Moon is Sex
tile or trine to Saturn.
On days when such planet is adversely aspected by
a square or opposition little or no headway can be
made in the overcoming of the trouble and the stu
dent may feel well pleased if no ground from pre
vious effort is lost, but if any attempt is made at Con
centration it should be in the hours ruled by benefic
planets but not in the hour of the one afflicted.

Another good way to treat through zodiacal influ

ence is to note each day the sign which the Moon

occupies and the part of the human body ruled by that
Pººyººyººyººººººººººººººººººººººººººº.
Page 44 ASTROLOGICAL BULLETINA

Sign should be treated by auto-suggestion in the hours

of the day ruled by the planet which rules the Sign
that the Moon thus Occupies. As the Moon transits
through the twelve signs in one month every part of
the body is treated in orderly succession. Prayer,
meditation and suggeston are powerful factors when
utilized at the proper times.
To study parts of the body ruled by the twelve
zodiacal signs and the planets the student will find
almost any text-book of astrology useful.

All events that transpire are the effect of Natural

the causes to the extent that in the course of time, as
the human family develops its latent powers, the effects

IMPORTANT INGRESS AND LUNAT) on.

FEBRUARY 17, 1912.
Marking the Actual Birth of the New Age.
To the uninitiated it means nothing unusual, but to
the occult student it is an event of tremendous imporrt.
On this date thé planet Uranus returns to its ruling
sign, Aquarius, and enters it for the first time in about
84 years, and, as the Sun, by movement of “preces
sion,” has also just entered that constellation, this
marks the real birth of the Aquarian age!
A notable coincident tending to make this a day
of great import is the fact that the Moon, by its
monthly transit, will be in the sign Aquarius, and the
Sun, by its apparent yearly transit, will also be in this
sign, and the two luminaries will be in conjunction.

This is the day of “new moon,” and the Chinese “New

Year,” and the celebration among the “Celestials” will
continue over a period of from a week to ten days,
Starting with that day. Business among the Chinese
will be practically suspended during the celebration,
even the laborers dropping their work to enjoy the
series of fetes which will be held at the different Chi
nese mercantile stores, and other habitations.

It would seem, therefore, that their “new year,” fall

ing on a day of a great new world cycle, portends that
China is destined to become the most free, liberal and
advanced race on the earth during the reign of Uranus
in the next 2160 years. “The first shall be last and the
last shall be first.” Verily, it looks as though the
“heathen” Chinese will have his inning!

Adepts the world over will consecrate this day to

the influx of Uranian vibrations, and henceforth let no
Astrologer straggle behind in the march of progress
by again calling Saturn the ruler of Aquarius, for
Uranus has come into his own and will prove his
claim to the rights and title of ruler of this sign by
his works hereafter!

This date marks the beginning of a new cycle such

as has not occurred for about 25,000 years.
Another noticeable sidereal incident is that Venus
is the next planet to enter into this sign about a week
after the lunation. -

Aquarius is symbolized as a man emptying a water

ewer and Venus’ entry at this time (being also wel
comed by a trine of the Moon), is portentious that in
the new age woman will play an important part in the
march of progress. She will attain a position of busi- .

ness and political equality and will also insert a refin- it
ing and beautifying influence into the affairs of domes-

tic and political economy. She will have much to do

in the elevation of art and promotion of public morals.

THE VALUE OF ASTROLOGY LIES IN ITS ABIL

ITY TO AID IN DEVELOPING THE WEALTH IN
HERENT AND EMBODIED IN EACH INDIVIDUAL.
“Seek ye first the kingdom of heaven and its right
eousness and all these things shall be added unto
you.”
Properly interpreted, this means seek right-us-ness,
not necessarily religiousness, but to do things rightly,
that is, do everything at a harmonious rate of vibra
tion so that the doing of it brings satisfaction or con
tent; do things at a Right Time so that the results
will be most fruitful, and all things shall be added
unto you in proportion to your rightness. Heaven
is harmony; “The kingdom of heaven is within” - when
harmony is within.

All things added means that which makes for our

unfoldment, our development, our enlightenment, our
happiness and our well-being, for it is these things
added together which makes the sum total of a suc
cessful life.
To seek the chimera of riches first is likely to lead
one to miss the golden opportunities which are the re
ward of merit exercised in legitimate channels. Fi
nancial wealth is temporal but the reward of endeavor
rightly directed is spiritual wealth and is an asset of
everlasting value.
Therefore, seek first to utilize to the highest extent
the talents with which you are endowed. Learn to ex
press right-us-ly the kingdom of heaven within and
fruitful will be the results of your efforts; you will

gather the harvest every day and will have bounty

enough to give liberally to any fellow being who may
need temporary assistance to regain equilibrium lost
by failure to recognize or understand THE LAW. And
it is to these ends that Astrology points the way.
Seek and ye SHALL find.

REVOLUTIONS.
The annual revolution is based upon a chart made
for the exact time that the Sun in ephemeris for cur
rent year returns to identically the same degree and
minute of longitude it occupied at birth. The testi
monies by position and aspects of planets among
themselves in such a chart, as well as their relation
or aspects to radical planets, etc., indicate the gen
eral conditions for the year to follow.
The lunar revolution, as above, is based upon the
Moon's return to its exact radical place monthly.
The daily revolution is based upon the time of the
radical ascending sign and degree returning to be the
ascendant and the testimonies thereof indicate the
general trend of affairs for the following twenty-four
hours. All such testimonies as those derived from
these three charts must coincide with indications in
the nativity, otherwise they must be rejected or ig
nored, for nothing must be predicted from them that
is not promised by evidence in the nativity.

PROFECTION.

Profection is a moving, proeeeding or going forward,

and in the Doctrine of Nativities signifies a regular
cº ASTROLOGICAL BULLETINA

and orderly change of the planets from one sign to an

other; and of the cusps of houses (in your nativity)
out of one sign into another, according to the succes
Page 49

sion of signs. In nativities it is threefold, viz., annual,

mensurnal and diurnal, i. e., yearly, monthly and daily.
The annual profection was by adding one whole sign
for each eyar to your radical ascendant, using exactly
the same degree and minute always, as at birth.

The mensurnal profection is made by adding one

sign per month to the ascendant at birth.

In the daily profection, each sign succeeding that of

the radix is held to continue for the ascendant pro
fectional after birth two days, three hours and fifty
four minutes. -

This method of prediction has fallen into desuetude

and has given way to the more modern methods of
progressing a horoscope; nevertheless it remains still
interesting for investigation by students of inquiring
mind, as much of truth will be found therein.

A TRUE FANTASY.
Observers of the starry realm are often brought to
think that the heavenly orbs are working stupendous
schemes which sometimes unite them to produce a
common end or casts them into seeming conflict, while
at other times they appear in playful, tricky moods to
the delight of onlookers.
Only last night (April 14, 1911) while spying on these
“sparks of the sky” and listening with ear clairaudient,
I heard Jupiter speak in tones meant to be gentle and
loving, yet really with the roar of thunder: “Oh, beau
tiful Luna, it is indeed with joy that I again behold

your lovely face. Come, come to my arms that I may

suitably embrace the mistress of the earthly sphere.
Full twenty-eight days have passed since last you came
and brightened us with your smile. Look, child, being
retrograde, I hasten to meet you! Hurry; let us pro
ceed to zodiacal conjunction, for the night is far spent
and there is much to do.”

Then in sweet, silvery tones gentle Luna replied:

“Great Jove, I come with cosmic speed, but I am slow
in motion this eve. (When going more than 13 de
grees, 10 minutes, 36 seconds she is swift in motion.)
Your jovial voice thrills me with mystic delight, and
from your ponderous vibrations, I gather fruitful in
spiration, which I will gladly bestow on Terra (the
earth) when next I am in Perigee, for am I not his
only satelite?”
“Truly said, little one, but while I disport eight
moons, none are so great as you. Listen; we are in
the mansion of the Scorpion, a delighter in moisture.
Thou, being cold and moist in nature, I, warm and
moist, should easily gather the elements from here
abouts and drop them on Terra while yet he sleeps.
"Twill be a frolic of the planets!”

&ge
“A most delightful pastime, oh mighty Jupiter, and
I join with glee.”
And then was heard the sweet music of the spheres,
the atmosphere began to expand, the air grew heavier
and heavier with moisture until, overburdened, it gent
ly spread it upon the earth and sprayed the surface
generously, not as rain, but exquisite dew.

But hark! discordant against melody a chilling voice

is heard; ’tis a sound from envious Saturn muttering
deeply to himself, “Such foolish capers are not to my
liking. Luna is a lunatic, and Jove, well, he seems

drunk with infatuation. Think they that I stand idly

in the sky? I, too, have magic and will pit it against
them and frustrate the gleeful plans. I will bow their
knees in sorrow and fill their breast with dismay.
“Here, underling,” he cried, for he bore no great love
to Mercury, who perchance was traveling nigh, and
who, being in the sign of Luna's exaltation (Taurus),
was looking intently across at the “lesser light” and
the “greater fortune,” watching their actions with
considerable interest, if not with pleasure, for he is a
friend to both, but at Saturn's terrifying command he
came to himself with a start, for Mercury’s nature is
neutral and must lend power to whom it is nearest in
the sky, and, being also quite diplomatic, he answered
very blithly, “Aye, aye, sir, I am at your command, oh
Prince of Darkness.”
“Knowest thou that we are in zodiac opposition to
yonder mawks?” he said, pointing disdainfully at the
planets in Scorpio, while Mercury shook his head in
vigorous assent, for no such knowledge ever escaped
his perceptive mind.
“Besides,” continued Saturn, “you are in your own
‘terms,’ semi-sextile to one of your mansions (Gemini)
and trine to Virgo, the other, while T in this sign am
in one of a nature like my own (earthly), and also
trime to my own domain, Capricorn; therefore our joint
forces are most powerful, so pay you heed to my de
signs and go forth as messenger of the gods and voice
my commands to all active elements near the Earth,
thusly, “Saturn bids you grasp the falling dew, cool it,
crystallize it and turn it to frost.’” And with a
satanic smile he dismissed Mercury and settled back
to watch the results of his dark plot.
The messenger performed his work speedily and
well, and soon the earth was covered with a mantle
&Gººººººººººººººººººººººººººººº;

of white like unto Snow.

And Terra, in sleep, trundled on, for he had many
miles yet to turn on his axis before completing his
prescribed revolution of 25,000 miles in 24 hours, and
to travel 18% miles in orbit per second also and keep
things cool at the poles is no small feat either asleep
or awake.

But soon the Sun, lord of day and ruler of this

planetary system, began making an appearance at the
eastern horizon, and, glancing quickly around the sky
and over the earth, he commenced to smile, and smile,

and smile, and then he smiled again. “How well they
have each performed their work,” he beamed, “and
to make it all the more beneficent I will embue it with
life.” And straightway the frost began to move and
change and descend down into the ground where
eager worms and little bugs drank their fill, while
flowers and trees partook their share and all proceed
ed to manifest their thanks in their own various ways,
for it was Spring and all was well.

LIGHT PHILOSOPHY.

Between loads going up a ladder with the hod a

discussion arose between Pat and Mike, as to which
luminary was most essential and beneficial to the
welfare of man.
“Be gorry an it’s the Sun,” said Pat, “for it gives
us the greatest light.”
“No, be gobbers, it’s the Moon,” said Mike, “for it
gives us light at night, when we need it most and

ASTROLOGICAL FRAGMENTS.
By Her Royal Highness Princess Olive of Cumberland.
Fragment the First.

Some of the most celebrated philosophers of old

were united in opinion that the hosts of the firmament
were the harbingers of good and evil below. Seth, the
father of Astrology, left several mementos of his scien
tific researches, which were engraven on stone and
which laid the foundation of this part of occult science.
Thus, from an era nearly equal with the origin of the
world, we have evidence that the patriarchal sages
esteemed this knowledge an attainment of the most
desirable and magnificent kind. There can be very
little ground for doubting but that Joseph in Egypt,
then the chief seat of learning, was enabled by his
skill in Astrology, to acquire the favor of Pharaoh by
providing for the emergencies of the Egyptian state,
in the manner recorded in Holy Writ. The insight
into the future destiny of his sons, whom he judged
of and blessed, previously to his death, was also, as
we may very well believe, drawn by his father Jacob,
from the configurations of the heavenly bodies at the
times of their several nativities.
States and empires, at their (planets) ungenial infu
ence, are crumbled into dust, and by their smilie the
most humble are raised to the loftiest summit of
earthly glory. Thus, continually on their course, they
perform the great and extraodinary offices allotted to
them severally by the Supreme, with a diligence, ob
edience and promptitude beyond the finite compre
hension of the mortal man. How ignorant and pred

juced, then, must that man be, and how crude that
understanding, which condemns a science in which
the wisest and greatest king on earth, even Solomon,
delighted. Of all studies occult philosophy requires
the most temperate and industrious habits of life,
for not an hour passes that does not produce some in
terersting variation in the heavens, and some con
sequent changes on the earth. But to pursue the mo
tions of the planets with effect a philosopher must
let no opportunity escape him of observation and
improvement.
Comets, too, have been seen to be forerunners some
times of especial good, but more frequently of ex
cessive evil. Thus a comet or blazing star may be pre
sumed to have guided the magi, or wise men of the east,
to Bethlehem, as recorded with solemnity in the New
Testament. The downfall of many states has been
foreshown by prodigious sights seen in the air. Jerus
alem, Egypt, Rome and many other regions, declare as
much, and indeed all strange and unusual apparitions
of this nature are generally followed by direful effects,

DESTINY.

Rough hew them as we will.”—Selected.

HERE IS A BOOK THAT IS DIF
FERENT
It does not waste your time with useless details but
kells you in few words, what to do and how to do it
and after reading the book you are not left in the dark
as to how to proceed to prove its claims to be true.
It tellsyou just what DOES cause disease and it tells
you how to prove it. It tells you what you MUST DO
if you would avoid sickness and it tells you how to
prove that, too. It positively enables you to demon
Strate that there is but ONE CAUSE AND ONE CURE
FOR PRACTICALLY ALL DISEASE, aside from that
caused by injury.
This book describes a drugless method of curing
disease that has been in constant use for almost a
quarter of a century and which in that time has demon
started its complete superiority over all other methods
now in use. The method of treatment is purely physi
cal in its application, is applied with the two hands
alone and insofar as I have ever been able to learn,
has been practiced by just two persons, myself and
one other.
However, I have demonstrated beyond a question of
doubt that others, laymen as well as professional
people, may learn to apply this treatment with entire
Success and it is to tell them how to do so that I
have written this book. In fact, I builded better than
I knew, in writing it, for I have repeatedly been told
by purchasers that they regard it as the most remark
able little book on the subject of health that they
- have
ever read.
Many of my sales are made to people to whom the
book has been recommended by former purchasers. A
goodly percent of my sales are made to professional
people, who understand perhaps better than laymen,
that all methods of treatment in use today, strive
primarily to bring about a condition of RELAXATION
within the body of the patient. When they understand
and are able to demonstrate that the method described
in my book is 100% efficient in bringing about this
condition it will readily be understood
-
why they like
the book.

I sell the book strictly on its merits at $5.00 a copy,

with the distinct understanding that if after using it,
the purchaser is in any way dissatisfied with it, he may
return it to me and I will promptly refund his money.
I firmly believe that you will like the book immensely
and I am very confident that you have never seen
any—even remotely similar. I earnestly solicit your
investigation.
Sincerely yours,

Dear Mr. Llewellyn George:
I have used your “Moon's Sign Book” since last
January, (1920), and have planted during the whole
time since rather frequently. Everyone wants to know
‘how we do it,” when they see the flowers and veg
etables that my mother and I raise. Of course we have
the essential sympathy with the plants and take care
to furnish them with the best cultural conditions, but
that isn’t the Secret of our invariable success; the
real Secret lies in the fact that we make use of favor
able planetary influences.

My mother strongly objected to planting according

to the Moon's signs, but she has become convinced
that it's better to watch the signs than to have unac
countable failures every so often, so she now works
with me and plants when signs are favorable.

One of the queerest things about it, is that trans

planting in Pisces, Cancer or Scorpio, the leaves do
not wither; in fact they remain quite turgid, and Settle
down in their new environment as if they were “born”
there. Of course, we water them properly, but even
water doesn't avail if plants are moved during wrong

People come to buy flowers from us from a distance.

We are planning to make our living with flowers some
day. In the meantime we are really grateful to Mr.
Llewellyn George for making the facts available to us
in reference to the Moon's Signs, through “The Plane
tary Daily Guide for All.”
Sincerely,
Gladys Pitner Pullen.

HOW PLANETS AFFECT PEOPLE
By Llewellyn George

A new book which tells in an interesting and instruc

tive manner just how the planets do affect people. Peo
ple often wonder how a planet which looks like a little
speck in the sky, apparently millions of miles away, can
have any influence upon human mind and destiny.
This book gives the philosophy of planetary vibrations
and tells why one person is affected at one time—while
their brother or wife or some one else is not; why one
person may be inclined in certain directions and an
other in opposite or different directions. How planetary
vibrations affect the mind and how the mind can react.
How life and destiny can be improved.
A book full of idea-producing chapters, all written in
a clear and concise manner so that the reader will have
a better understanding of natural phenomena and of the
causes which underlie feelings, tendencies, moods,
thoughts, acts, fate and destiny, and be inspired to
improve the life by the added knowledge—“Knowledge

SCIENCE OF NAMES AND NUMBERS
By Dr. Joseph Perry Green

We consider it extreme good fortune to have

found just the kind of lessons that we would want
to recommend to the many enquirers concerning
names and numbers.
These lessors are complete, very concise, and simply
presented, showing the numerical value of each letter in
the alphabet, and how to find the number vibration of
any name. If your environment is inharmonious with
your name, changes can be figured which will conduce to
harmony in occupation, location, friends and marriage.

For instance, about twelve years ago when I

started my magazine, I named it Astrological Bul
letin, which equals 11; but finding that 11 did not
harmonize with my own name, which equals 6, it
was necessary to change the name. Investigation
quickly showed that the number 3 would harmon
ize and also exactly describe the type of maga
zine. Astrological Bulletin came to 11 ; by add
ing A or 1 it coined a new word: “Bulletina,”
equals 12, or 1 plus 2 equals 3, and so the “Bul
letina” was uniquely christened.
These “Lessons in Names and Numbers” are
nicely typewritten on 18 full size pages. Price
$2.00. Address:
Llewellyn Publishing Co., Box 1368, Los Angeles, Calif.
