1. DESCRIPTION

The Earth Leakage Relay is a microprocessor based electronic protection devrce designed
to recognize low level teakage or unbalanced
currenb, due to insulation loss on conductors or equipment that must be protected.
The fundamenkl feature is to allow preventive conrol of the system's rnsulatjon with
continuous display of the earth teakage current
value of motors. transformers and power systems
The measure of the leakage currents ls obbined by the us of a nng-type current
transformer. All circuit conductors to be protected
shall go through the CT
The felay is designed with a microprocessor in order to satisfy all the protection req!irements and guarantee
utrost reliabjlity
The mrcroprocessor carries up several functions such as
. Digital drsplay of earth-leakage or unbalanced currents up to 10 A.
. lndependent digitat cutrent adjustments for atarm and tripping from 30 mA to 10 A
. Independent digilal time adjustments for alarm and trippjng. from t, 03 to 5 Sec
. Control through tvvo (2) outprJt operational relays: alarm and tatpping

2. INSTALLATION
The relay should be installed accordlng the chaEcteristrcs of humidity and
temperature that has been designed to vrcrk
noise pickup and interference the relay should be placed away from high currenr conouctors In
To minimize
or sources of strong magnetrc trelds The
1X70DD relay is design to be instailed over a dtn rail of 35mm (see tast pagel
