Dr.

Bhimrao Ambedkar, "Bharat Ratan", is the father of

the Indian constitution. He has fought for many social
evils present in society, especially untouchability and
caste differences. We are here to spend some time in
knowing , about the elixir of our Indian constitution ,
Dr.B.R.Ambedkar – everyone when asked about him
will first say about his work of brilliance i.e. our Indian
constitution , and some may say he has fought against
caste based discrimination many more , but did anyone
think of the question ‘ How did we get to know , about
his ideologies ?
How do we know that he was a educationist ?
How do we know that he was against caste differences ?
How do we know that he was a feminist ?
How do we know that he was a economist ?
It is because , he never restrained himself from sharing
his ideologies and progressive thoughts through various
modes of journalism. Before digging deeper about his
journey as a journalist , I would like to pose a question ,
because I have always wanted to know about, other
people ‘s perspective on this subject matter
‘Do u think that knowing history is essential ?”
In one point of time , I too was in a mindset that,
history has no role in the advancement of the society
but later on realised that knowing history would refine
our steps towards progress , for example , one of us is
trying to build a aircraft on his own with no one’s help ,
only with his sole idea of construction , he would not tie
a piece of cardboard on either of his hands and try to fly
Offcourse First , if he has a common sense
And if he knows the history , if he had looked back and
seen the history of invention of aircraft , he would have
the opportuinity to realise the mistakes and would also
come up with successful idea , from the one who has
successfully constructed a aircraft.
So what I am trying to say is , nothing but I would talk
a little bit more of history today kindly bare with me..
So , now when we look into an overview of his
journalism journey
he started his first newspaper when he was only 29
years old and named it Mooknayak on January 31,
1920, with the help of the Maharaja of Kolhapur. It was
only open for three years, ending in April 1923. Later,
he founded three more newspapers: Bahishkrit Bharat
(1927–1929), Samta (later called Janata) (1928–56),
and Prabuddha Bharat (later renamed Janata) (1956).
Earlier, journalism was only available in offline and
print media formats, but in the current scenario, it is
noticed that online journalism is a growing field shared
between old media (traditional media) and the growing
online blogs and web portal community. In recent times,
online journalism has become the fastest growing field,
as earlier it was print journalism that was there during
Dr.Ambedkar's time. Today, the electronic era has
changed the nature of journalism. Now, a person can
also do this journalism and publish their letters on a
digital platform. It also reduces costs and eases
management. At present, journalism has a wider field in
comparison to the previous one. It is seen that now
news and journals have covered too many areas of
society, but Dr.Ambedkar was focused on the
eradication of social evil from Indian society. Bharat
Ratan, Dr.Ambedkar was always devoted towards
society and fought for the better growth and
development of the Indian people. Dr.Ambedkar wrote
on several contemporary issues in many forms.
According to BhimraoAmbedkar, the objective of
journalism should be enlightenment and the
development of the scientific temperament of people.
