Q 1. A piece of equipment cost a certain factory Rs. 600.000. If it depreciates in value, 15% the first,
13.5% the next year, 12% the third year and so on. What will be it’s value at the end of 10 years, all
percentages applying to the original cost?
Q 2. A man arranges to pay off a debt of Rs. 3600 by 40 annual installments which form an arithmetic
series. When 30 of the installments are paid, he dies leaving one-third of the debt unpaid, find the
value of the first installment.
Q 3. The interior angles of a polygon are in arithmetic progression. The smallest angle is 120 o, and the
common difference is 5o. Find the number of sides of the polygon.
Q 4. 150 workers were engaged to finish a piece of work in a certain number of days. Four workers
dropped the second day, four more workers dropped the third day and so on. It takes 8 more days to
finish the work now. Find the number of days in which the work was completed.
Q 5. Two cars start together in the same direction from the same place. The first goes with uniform speed

Assuming that the production increases uniformly by a fixed number every year, find
