WELDING INSPECTION:


Ensure that all operations are carried out in complete compliance with local, company, or
national safety legislation(i.e. permits to work are in place)

Establishment of Proposed Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), followed by Procedure
Qualification Test & Records (PQR) and finally Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) is
obtained as per Client requirement and codes.

Controlling the weld rejection rate as per Project specifications.

Validate certificate of calibration (welding equipment & inspection instrument)

Check material and consumable certification.

Weather conditions (Mainly for site work, welding is generally halted when in clement)
Pre-heat values (Heating method, location and control method)

Consumable control (Specification, size, condition, and any special treatments)

Welding process and all related variable parameters (Voltage, ampere, travel speed, etc)

Welding conditions for root run / hot pass and all subsequent run, and inter-run cleaning.

Carry out visual inspection of the welded joint (Including dimensional aspect)

Check and monitor NDT requirement (Method, qualification of operator, execution)

Identify repairs from assessment of visual or NDT reports.

Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) (Heating method and temperature recording -system)

Re-inspect with NDT/NDE after PWHT (if applicable)

Turn Around:

 Internal, external inspection and On-Stream Inspection (OSI), Plant piping and other equipment
as per API-510/570. Assist in determination of Inspection interval of equipment’s based on Risk
Based.
 Coordinate with NDT group after determining the appropriate NDT applicable to assess the
Equipment condition/ weld quality. Inspection Package preparation for static equipment before
Turn around. Identify the Damage Mechanism, assess the extent of the same and recommend
Mitigation steps To inspect and to provide recommendation / quality plan to carryout corrective
actions for concerns related to static equipment’s.
 prepare and release inspection reports with recommendations for corrective actions in the
MERIDIUM software using IM/TM module.
 Pre & Post cleaning Visual and Detail inspection of like Heat Exchangers, Columns, Vessels and
Drums, Heater, AFC & TANKS.
 Perform internal, external inspection in vessels accordance with the company engineering
requirements, applicable industry procedures, codes, and standards.
 Monitoring and evaluating NDT Reports. Visual Inspection of Column Shell, Shell cladding,
Trays, Down Comers, Pressure vessels, Heater, AFC, Reactors, Nozzles. To Witnessing of Heat
Exchanger Leak test, Pneumatic Test, and Hydro test.
 To Carried out Visual Inspection (Pre-cleaning & Post Cleaning) of Shell.
 Witnessing Pressure Leak Test like Hydro Test and Pneumatic Test for Piping and Pipelines
 Review thickness measurement reports & keeping records.
 Calculating Short-Term, Long-Term Corrosion Rates & Remaining Life Assessment (RLA) of the equipment’s
as per API 510 & ASME Sec. VIII Div.1 Standards.
 Retubing tube bundles of heat exchanger and AFC
 Tank bottom plate rectification job, water test, vacuum test & oil test
 Identify, analyze, and monitor the injection points, mix points, thermal mix points and dead legs
associated with the corrosion loops.
 Responsible for establishing piping boundaries by interpreting P&ID and PFD and segregating the piping
tags in their respective corrosion loops.
 Performing RBI assessments using design parameters, operational parameters, Inspection data,
etc. Performing integrity analysis (i.e., calculating remaining life, arrival of next inspection, etc.) based
on thickness data and providing recommendations for Replace/Repair/Follow-up inspection.
 Responsible for data gathering, performing gap analysis, building asset registers, and verifying the
IMS and SAP alignment of the asset data.
 Selection of condition monitoring location (CML) on external & internal side like Shell, Nozzle,
Head, Piping, Near weld joint.
 If cui is found at the suspected areas of piping system like near elbows, then pipe thoroughly
inspected for cui by removing up to necessary.
 Reviewing Corrosion control document to understand the degradation damage mechanism
 Developing inspection work packs for pressure systems which are prepared based on RBI
frequency prior to issuance to the inspection team. Developing BP-specific RBI inspection plans,
devising UT thickness measurement and RT protocol.
LIFTING INSPECTION:

Visual Inspection and thorough examination of Lifting Appliances and Lifting Gears

Inspection of Lifts, Hoists, Crawler Cranes, Mobile Hydraulic Cranes, EOT Cranes, Hydra,
forklifts,

Inspection of Lifting Gears & Accessories including slings, shackles, lifting beams
