Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C or D on your answer sheet to indicate the
correct answer to each of the questions from 23 to 30.
Balancing academics and extracurricular activities is a common challenge for students of all
ages, but it's especially important in high school and college. While academics provide the foundation
for future success, extracurricular activities allow students to develop valuable skills and explore their
passions. These activities can improve social skills, build confidence, and even enhance academic
performance. However, it's crucial to find the right balance to avoid burnout and maintain a healthy
lifestyle.
One of the most important aspects of balancing academics and extracurriculars is effective time
management. This means creating a schedule that prioritizes academic responsibilities while also
allowing time for extracurricular activities. It's helpful to break down large tasks into smaller,
manageable steps and set realistic goals for both academics and extracurriculars.
It's also essential to communicate with professors about your extracurricular commitments. They
may be able to offer flexibility or advice on balancing your schedule. Additionally, utilizing campus
resources such as academic advising, tutoring centers, and writing labs can provide valuable support.
Remember that self-care is crucial for success. Make sure you get enough sleep, eat healthy
meals, and exercise regularly. Schedule downtime to relax and recharge. Balancing your physical and
mental health with your academic and extracurricular commitments will improve your overall
performance and prevent burnout.
Ultimately, finding the right balance between academics and extracurriculars is a personal
journey. It's about finding the right blend that allows you to excel academically while also pursuing your
passions and interests. Don't be afraid to say no to commitments that are overwhelming or don't align
with your goals. Remember, it's better to focus on a few activities that you're passionate about than to
spread yourself too thin and risk sacrificing your well-being.

Believe it or not, digital learning goes back decades, to a time before the invention of the Internet. [I]
In 1960, students at the University of Illinois, USA could use a network of computers to learn as part of
their course. [II] The Internet itself was created in 1983, and by 1984, the University of Toronto in
Canada was offering the first Internet-only course. [III] It was in the late 1980s, though, that online
learning really took off in the USA. [IV]

In 1989, the University of Phoenix, Arizona did something bold that broke new ground. The

learning started to become an expectation rather than something strange and new. In the 2000s, it
became normal for traditional colleges and universities to have online platforms. In this way, students
could upload work or download course materials without having to walk to their school building. And
by the mid-2000s, many people were training for their jobs online.

Health is Wealth
In today’s fast-paced world, maintaining good health has become a top priority for individuals
across the globe. Many people are now paying more attention to their diet, exercise, and mental well-
being, understanding that these aspects significantly influence their overall health. One essential aspect
of a healthy lifestyle is a balanced diet. This includes consuming a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole
grains, and lean proteins while avoiding excessive sugars and unhealthy fats. Additionally, regular
physical activity, such as jogging, cycling, or swimming, helps improve cardiovascular health,
strengthens muscles, and maintains a healthy weight.
10
Ngân hàng câu hỏi ôn thi TNTHPT 2025

Mental health, often overlooked, is equally crucial to a person’s well-being. Stress management
techniques, like meditation, deep breathing, and mindfulness practices, are now recommended to keep
stress at bay. Research has shown that mental and physical health are closely interconnected, with each
influencing the other. For instance, chronic stress can lead to high blood pressure and a weakened
immune system.
Healthcare professionals emphasize preventive care over reactive treatment. Regular check-ups,
vaccinations, and screenings for common diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer are
essential to catching health issues early. Furthermore, adopting a healthy lifestyle from a young age
can prevent various chronic conditions, contributing to a better quality of life.
Public health campaigns continue to educate people on the benefits of healthy living, and
governments worldwide are implementing policies to make nutritious food and healthcare services more
accessible. As more individuals adopt healthy habits, society as a whole becomes healthier, reducing the
overall burden on healthcare systems.

[I] Mental health awareness has become a significant topic worldwide as more people recognize
the importance of mental well-being in leading a healthy life. [II] Mental health conditions such as
depression, anxiety, and stress affect millions globally, impacting their relationships, work, and quality
of life. [III] Raising awareness about these conditions not only reduces stigma but also encourages
individuals to seek help and support when they need it. [IV]
One of the main reasons mental health awareness is crucial is the prevalence of mental health
issues. Studies show that one in four people will experience a mental health condition at some point in
their lives. Despite this high prevalence, mental health remains a stigmatized topic in many cultures,
which often discourages people from talking openly about their struggles. By promoting understanding
and empathy, awareness campaigns aim to make mental health a normalized topic and foster a more
supportive environment.
Another critical aspect of mental health awareness is its role in early intervention. Many mental
health issues, if addressed early, can be managed effectively through therapy, counseling, or lifestyle
changes. However, a lack of awareness and education often leads to delayed treatment, which can
worsen symptoms and lead to more serious conditions. Increasing awareness encourages individuals to
recognize warning signs and take proactive steps towards managing their mental health, reducing the
long-term impact on individuals and communities.
Schools, workplaces, and governments are also acknowledging the importance of mental health by
implementing programs that support mental well-being. Many schools now include mental health
education as part of their curriculum, teaching students about coping mechanisms and resilience.
Additionally, workplaces are offering employee assistance programs and mental health days to support
workers. These initiatives highlight a growing recognition that mental health is as important as
physical health, and that supporting it can lead to a healthier, more productive society.

for charity. Besides, running in such marathon races will most likely give you all the motivation you
need to get through the exhausting 42-kilometer run. After all, it’s quite difficult to quit when you know
that you are giving help to people in need.

In Viet Nam festivals often take place during the three months in spring and in autumn when
people have a lot of leisure time. In addition, the climate in spring and autumn is especially suitable for
holding festivals and for festivals goers to enjoy.
Traditional festivals constitute a form of cultural activities, a spiritual product which the people
have created and developed during the course of history. From generation to generation, the Vietnamese
people preserve the fine tradition of “remembering the source while drinking water.” Festivals are
events which represent this tradition of the community as well as honor the holy figures named as
“gods”- the real persons in national history or legendary persons. The images of gods converge the noble
characteristics of mankind. They are national heroes who fought against foreign invaders, reclaimed
new lands, treated people, fought against natural calamities, or those legendary characters who affect the
earthly life.
Accordingly, first and foremost, festivals are events when people pay tribute to divinities that
rendered merits to the community and the nation. These are occasions when people come back to either
their natural or national roots, which form a sacred part in their mind. Furthermore, festivals represent
21

the strength of the commune or village, the local region or even the whole nation. Worshipping the same
god, the people unite in solidarity to overcome difficulties, striving for a happy and wealthy life.
Moreover, festivals display the demand for creativity and enjoyment of spiritual and material
cultural values of all social strata. Festivals become a form of education under which fine traditional
moral values can be handed from one generation to the next in a unique way of combining spiritual
characters with competition and entertainment games.
Festivals are also the time people can express their sadness and worries in a wish that gods might
bestow favor on them to help them strive for a better life.

V.Read the following passage about endangered languages and mark the letter A, B, C or D on your
answer sheet to indicate the best answer to each of the following questions from 23 to 30.
It's a widely held belief that cities harm the environment. For this reason, many developing
countries have imposed restrictions on the movement of people from rural to urban areas and on the size
of large cities. But there are problems with this viewpoint. Urbanization that is properly controlled can
benefit the environment in a number of ways.
First, urbanization is a highly productive force due to the combination of economies of scale and
positive externalities. Over 5.5 times as much is produced in Asia's cities as in its rural areas. Urban
agglomeration makes it possible to use fewer resources to produce the same amount of work as
non-urban areas. Urbanization therefore reduces the environmental impact. Urbanization is necessary
because the service sector depends on a concentration of clients. The growth of service industries, which
typically generate less waste than manufacturing, is another environmentally beneficial aspect of
urbanization.
Second, for any given population, high urban density has no effect on the environment.
According to urban economics studies, density is one of the most significant factors influencing energy
consumption. In places with a high population density, public transportation may be more convenient
and quicker. City dwellers are more likely to walk or ride a bike instead of drive. Third, the construction,
upkeep, and operation of environmentally friendly public services and infrastructure, such as waste
management, sanitation, and piped water, are considerably simpler and less expensive in urban areas.
More people can now afford to use eco-friendly facilities and services thanks to urbanization.
Fourth, urbanization is driving the development of new technologies, including eco-friendly
ones. Eco-friendly vehicles, utilities, and equipment are essential to the green economy's long-term
survival. Asia's enormous market will support green innovations in cities because the region's enormous
population will provide entrepreneurs with many incentives and opportunities to invest in the
development of energy-efficient products. Last but not least, the improved standard of living brought
about by urbanization has improved access to housing, food, healthcare, and education. Cities with more
residents can invest more in infrastructure, which reduces traffic and improves public health.
Urbanization fosters pro-environmental attitudes, especially among middle-class property owners, which
greatly aid in the introduction and enforcement of environmental laws and regulations.
Any expanding city will inevitably incur expenses. People are moving in large numbers to Asian
cities, and many companies have opened offices there to capitalize on this trend. Examples of industrial
27
Ngân hàng câu hỏi ôn thi TNTHPT 2025

operations that contribute to urban sprawl and harm the environment include the generation of
electricity, transportation, construction, trash, and waste disposal. Both the advantages and
disadvantages of urbanization should be taken into account when assessing its effects on the
environment.

VI. Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C or D on your answer sheet to indicate the
correct answer to each of the questions from 31 to 40.
Climate change refers to the long-term alteration of temperature and typical weather patterns in a
place. This phenomenon is largely driven by human activities, particularly the burning of fossil fuels
such as coal, oil, and gas, which increase the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. They
trap heat from the sun, leading to global warming and causing severe weather events, such as hurricanes,
floods, and droughts, to become more frequent and intense. Climate change impacts nearly every region
of the world and affects the natural environment, economies, and human health.
As temperatures rise, polar ice caps and glaciers are melting at alarming rates, contributing to
rising sea levels. Coastal regions face an increased risk of flooding, and many low-lying islands are at
risk of disappearing entirely. Additionally, higher temperatures lead to the warming of oceans, affecting
28
Ngân hàng câu hỏi ôn thi TNTHPT 2025

marine ecosystems and causing coral bleaching, which threatens biodiversity and the livelihoods of
millions of people who depend on fishing.
[I] The consequences of climate change are not just environmental; they also affect human
society in significant ways. [II] Changes in weather patterns disrupt agriculture, leading to crop failures
and food shortages in vulnerable regions. [III] Furthermore, climate change is linked to health issues
such as respiratory diseases, heat strokes, and the spread of diseases carried by insects, like malaria and
dengue fever. [IV]
To combat climate change, a coordinated global effort is necessary. Governments,
organizations, and individuals all have roles to play in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and
promoting sustainable practices. Shifting to renewable energy sources, such as wind, solar, and
hydropower, is essential. Additionally, conserving forests and investing in technology that captures
carbon dioxide from the atmosphere can help mitigate the effects of climate change and pave the way
for a healthier planet.
Question 31. Which of the following best summarizes the passage?

answer sheet to indicate the best answer to each of the following questions from 23 to 30.
When we think of the Hawaiian Islands, they often bring to mind a thriving tourist destination
with white sandy beaches and palm trees. However, on one of the most northern islands, you will not
find any tourists or holiday activities. The island of Niihau is characterized by an extinct volcano, a
delicate wetland and thriving forests. It is also the home to various endangered species such as the
Hawaiian monk seal. The island belongs to the Robinson family who bought it from the King of Hawaii
back in 1864 with the promise to maintain the traditional Hawaiian culture and language of the natives
living there. In order to keep this promise, the family over time began to limit visitors to the island.
Today, contact with the native Niihauans on the island is forbidden except by invitation. Therefore, until
recently, the natives knew very little about the outside world.
A walk through the main village of the island shows how Niihau appears to be frozen in time.
There are no cars, shops, restaurants or police. The only means of transport are horses and bicycles.
There is no running water, power or telephone lines. All of the 130 permanent residents are native
Hawaiians and speak Hawaiian as their first language. They don’t pay rent and live by fishing and
farming. It’s a lifestyle far different from residents on the other Hawaiian islands.
The children of Niihau may not have TV or electronics like other children, but they attend a
small school that relies entirely on solar power for electricity. The school is one of the few schools in the
USA that is completely solar powered. The school teaches the Hawaiian traditions and values of living
off the land and ocean, and at the same time offers the children the opportunity to learn how to use
computers and connect with the outside world.

One way outsiders can connect with Niihau is to purchase the islanders’ handicrafts such as their
shell jewelry. These products are on sale in other islands. Although few have the chance to visit this
forbidden land, its mystery continues to fascinate tourists.

Carnegie Hall, which is a famous concert hall in New York City, has again undergone a
restoration. While this is not the first, it is certainly the most extensive in the building’s history. As a
result of this new restoration, Carnegie Hall once again has the quality of sound that it had when
it was first built.
Carnegie Hall owes its existence to Andrew Carnegie, the wealthy owner of a steel company in
the late 1800s. (I)The hall was finished in 1891 and quickly gained a reputation as an excellent
performing arts hall where accomplished musicians made a name for themselves. (II) Despite its
35
Ngân hàng câu hỏi ôn thi TNTHPT 2025

reputation, the concert hall suffered from several detrimental renovations over the years. (III) During the
Great Depression, when fewer people could afford to attend performances, the directors sold part of the
building to commercial businesses. (IV) As a result, a coffee shop was opened in one corner of the
building, for which the builders replaced the brick and terra cotta walls with windowpanes. A renovation
in 1946 seriously damaged the acoustical quality of the hall when the makers of the film Carnegie Hall
cut a gaping hole in the dome of the ceiling to allow for lights and air vents. The hole was later covered
with short curtains and a fake ceiling, but the hall never sounded the same afterwards.
In 1960, the violinist Isaac Stem became involved in restoring the hall after a group of real estate
developers unveiled plans to demolish Carnegie Hall and build a high-rise office building on the site.
This threat spurred Stem to rally public support for Carnegie Hall and encourage the City of New York
to buy the property. The movement was successful, and the concert hall is now owned by the city.
In the current restoration, builders tested each new material for its sound qualities, and they
replaced the hole in the ceiling with a dome. The builders also restored the outer walls to their original
appearance and closed the coffee shop. Carnegie has never sounded better, and its prospects for the
future have never looked more promising

A, B, C, or D on your answer sheet to indicate the best answer to each of the following questions from
31 to 40.
41
Ngân hàng câu hỏi ôn thi TNTHPT 2025

[I] In recent years, social media platforms have become a central part of daily life, offering users
countless ways to connect, share, and communicate. [II] While these platforms offer many advantages,
experts have noted rising concerns about their effects on mental health, particularly among young people
(Smith & Anderson, 2018). [III] Studies reveal that excessive social media use can contribute to feelings
of anxiety, depression, and loneliness, despite its intention to promote connection and social interaction
(Twenge & Campbell, 2019). [IV]
A primary reason for these mental health concerns is the tendency for social media users to compare
themselves to others. Platforms like Instagram and Facebook often highlight idealized lifestyles, leading
users to feel inadequate about their own lives. Additionally, the constant notifications and messages
contribute to a "fear of missing out," or FOMO, which keeps individuals in a cycle of checking their
phones, often reducing the quality of sleep and overall well-being.
There is also a growing body of research suggesting a link between social media use and decreased
attention spans. When users frequently switch between apps and notifications, their ability to focus for
extended periods may diminish (Rosen, 2019). This shift in attention can interfere with productivity,
especially in academic and professional settings, where sustained focus is essential.
Addressing these challenges requires a multi-faceted approach. Some mental health professionals
suggest limiting screen time and setting boundaries, such as "device-free" hours before bedtime. Others
recommend engaging in offline activities, like reading or exercising, to reduce dependence on social
media and build healthier habits. According to psychologists, such strategies can enhance mental
resilience and allow for more meaningful, balanced relationships (Robinson & Smith, 2020).

change, the balance can be difficult to assess. But the larger the change in climate, the more negative the

People in some temperate zones may benefit from milder winters, more abundant rainfall, and
expanding crop production zones. But people in other areas will suffer from increased heat waves,
Coastal erosion, rising sea level, more erratic rainfall, and droughts.
The crops, natural vegetation, and domesticated and wild animals (including seafood) that
sustain people in a given area may be unable to adapt to local or regional changes in climate. The
ranges of diseases and insect pests that are limited by temperature may expand, if other environmental
conditions are also favorable. Consequently, they may spread to new areas, causing additional harm to
crops, livestock, and human health.
In its summary report on the impacts of climate change, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate

temperatures could rise 3-5°C by the end of this century. Temperature rises of 2°C had long been
regarded as the gateway to dangerous warming. More recently, scientists and policymakers have argued
that limiting temperature rises to 1.5°C is safer.
An Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report in 2018 suggested that keeping to the
1.5°C target would require “rapid, far-reaching and unprecedented changes in all aspects of society”.
The UN is leading a political effort to stabilise greenhouse-gas emissions for as long as we continue to
emit greenhouse gases, temperatures will continue to rise. [I]. China emits more CO2 than any other
country. It is followed by the US and the European Union member states, although emissions per person
are much greater there. But even if we now cut greenhouse-gas emissions dramatically, scientists say the
effects will continue. Large bodies of water and ice can take hundreds of years to respond to
changes in temperature. [II]. And it takes CO2 decades to be removed from the atmosphere.
As more CO2 is released into the atmosphere, uptake of the gas by the oceans increases, causing
the water to become more acidic. This could pose major problems for coral reefs. Global warming will
cause further changes that are likely to create further heating. [III].This includes the release of large
quantities of methane as permafrost - frozen soil found mainly at high latitudes - melts. [IV]
Responding to climate change will be one of the biggest challenges we face this century. As the
world warms, more water evaporates, leading to more moisture in the air. This means many areas will
experience more intense rainfall - and in some places snowfall. But the risk of drought in inland areas
during hot summers will increase. More flooding is expected from storms and rising sea levels. But there
are likely to be very strong regional variations in these patterns.

Vietnamese cultural identity is a rich and intricate tapestry that reflects the nation’s long and
storied history. Rooted in over a thousand years of civilization, Vietnam’s cultural identity is a fusion of
indigenous traditions and external influences, shaped by its geographical location and historical
interactions.
First and foremost, at the heart of Vietnamese culture is a deep reverence for family and
community. Confucian values emphasizing respect for elders, filial piety, and social harmony have

structures, hierarchical relationships, and communal rituals that are integral to daily life.
Secondly, Vietnamese cuisine is celebrated worldwide for its exquisite flavors and diversity. With
its emphasis on fresh ingredients, fragrant herbs, and balanced flavors, Vietnamese food tells a story of
the country’s agricultural heritage and regional variations. Iconic dishes like pho, banh mi, and spring
rolls have become global favorites, representing the culinary artistry deeply ingrained in Vietnamese
culture. Also, Vietnam’s artistic expressions are equally captivating. Traditional art forms like water
puppetry, silk painting, and folk music continue to thrive alongside contemporary artistic movements.
Áo dài, a graceful traditional dress, exemplifies the fusion of elegance and modesty in Vietnamese
fashion, symbolizing cultural pride and identity.
Today, in the face of modernization and globalization, Vietnamese cultural identity remains
resilient. While adapting to the challenges of the 21st century, the Vietnamese people continue to honor
their traditions, celebrate their unique cultural expressions, and pass on their heritage to future
generations, ensuring that their cultural identity remains vibrant and enduring.

VI. Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C or D on your answer sheet to indicate the
correct answer to each of the questions from 31 to 40.
The Impact of Inequality on Society
Inequality is one of the most significant social issues facing the world today. [I] It refers to the
unequal distribution of resources, wealth, and opportunities within society. [II] People from lower-
income backgrounds often have less access to education, healthcare, and well-paying jobs. This unequal
access creates a cycle of poverty that is difficult to escape. [III] While inequality exists in many forms,
economic inequality is one of the most harmful, as it can lead to a wide range of negative outcomes,
including poor health, limited educational opportunities, and social unrest. [IV]
One of the biggest effects of inequality is the impact on education. Children from poorer families
are often unable to attend good schools, which limits their opportunities for future success. They may
not have access to the same resources, such as tutors or extracurricular activities, that wealthier children

59
Ngân hàng câu hỏi ôn thi TNTHPT 2025

do. This lack of educational opportunity can result in lower income levels later in life, continuing the
cycle of inequality.
In addition to affecting education, inequality also has serious consequences for public health.
People in lower income groups tend to have higher rates of chronic diseases, such as heart disease and
diabetes, because of poor living conditions, lack of access to healthy food, and insufficient healthcare.
This disparity in health outcomes can be a direct result of unequal access to resources.
Finally, inequality often leads to social unrest. When people feel that they are being treated
unfairly, it can create tensions within society. Protests, strikes, and movements for change are often
driven by the desire to address inequalities in wealth, opportunities, and rights.
To solve the problem of inequality, governments and organizations must work together to
provide equal access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for everyone.
