than 50 years, eye as a replacement for other white
light source.

Parts of LED lamp

1. ”Thimble this is small metal found in the center

tip of lamp holder serves as positive terminal of the
lamp
2. lamp holder this is a base or cup insert to the
socket to conduct electric current

“Yes, Ma’am.”
3. Light body this serve as a frame of the lamp
where all the parts are attached

4.heat sink this is an aluminum diecast that absorbs

heat to minimize the lamp temperature

5. Power Supply this is also called LED driver, used to

convert and regulate alternating current to direct
current

6. Light board the components that creates the light

by means of LED chips attached to a piece of metal
referred to as the PCB printed circuit board

7. Screw used to screw the light board to the heat

sink “Discontinue any other conversation Ma’am.”
8. Lampshade this serve as protector of the LED chips
and optic diffuser

advantages of LED lamp

Completely weatherproof in extremes hot or cold

temperatures. Efficient produce of lights and longer
life span. Energy efficient 95 percent of the energy is
converted into light only 5 percent is wasted as
Environment friendly, no toxic elements and
designed to be 100 percent recyclable. Instant
lighting and could withstand frequent switching. No
filaments, therefore can withstand more shock than
regular lamps.

disadvantages of LED lamp

“(Few students raise their hand)”
LED lamps can be more expensive than incandescent
and fluorescent lights.

Color rendering: LED lamps can have a low color

rendering index (CRI), which means they may not
accurately display colors compared to natural light.
This can be especially true for lower quality products.

Color shift: LED lamps can change color over time.

Light distribution: LED lamps don’t distribute light

evenly in a sphere.

Wattage: LED lamps often have a lower wattage than

other lighting options, which can reduce their
effectiveness.

“We are done with our lesson class, any one here
have a questions?

“So we have a quiz, please get your activity note and

answers only”
