GAME 20 @ S i e n a (JAN. 30, 2025)
In her first season at the helm, Doughty earned six wins and coached senior Zaria Shazer to All-MAAC status for the second consecutive season.
In Doughty’s five-year tenure as associate head coach, she helped guide the Red Foxes to a MAAC championship in 2021 as the program
navigated challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic. In the 2020-21 season, Marist was 18-4 with a 13-3 MAAC record, securing the
program’s 13th MAAC regular season championship. As the No. 1 seed, the Red Foxes then won their 11th MAAC Championship in program
history, which includes a 69-30 triumph over No. 3 Saint Peter’s that ranks as the largest margin of victory and fewest points allowed in a MAAC
Championship final. Marist earned a 15-seed in the NCAA Tournament, playing Louisville in the first round.
In 2019-20, the Red Foxes went 26-4, giving the Red Foxes their ninth season with at least 25 victories and a share of its 12th MAAC regular
season championship. Marist climbed as high as fifth in the College Insider Women’s Mid-Major Top 25, and had three All-MAAC selections in a
season that was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2018-19, the program went 23-11 and reached the MAAC Championship final.
As an assistant, Doughty helped the program achieve new heights. In 2007, Marist became the first MAAC basketball program – men’s or
women’s – to reach the Sweet 16. In this time, Marist amassed five NCAA tournament victories and 10 NCAA tournament appearances.
Along with the NCAA accomplishments, Doughty help guide the Red Foxes to a MAAC record 35-game winning streak against conference
opponents (including postseason) between the 2006-07 and 2008-09 seasons. The Red Foxes also had a 34-game MAAC winning streak
between the 2009-10 and 2011-12 seasons. Both streaks are the only ones in MAAC history to reach the 30-game plateau.
Doughty helped bring the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation and the women’s basketball program together. In April 2010, the team adopted Nina
Triplo from Stone Ridge, N.Y., welcoming her to the Red Fox family. The foundation seeks to improve the quality of life for those affected by
pediatric brain tumors.
From 2002-05, Doughty was a walk-on guard who appeared in 12 games, made two MAAC All-Academic teams and was one of the Red Foxes’
most popular players. An accurate long-distance shooter, Doughty hit the first two shots she attempted in her collegiate career, both of which
were three-pointers. During her senior season, she joined the coaching staff as an assistant, and in her first season with the squad, Marist finished
with 23 victories, the highest win total in school history at the time.
Doughty attended Holy Cross High School in Connecticut, where she played four years of varsity volleyball and basketball. In basketball,
Doughty became the school’s all-time leader in three-pointers made and helped the squad earn a berth in the state championship game in
2002.
Doughty was named to the Hudson Valley’s Top Forty Under 40 as announced by the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce in 2024.
Doughty earned her Bachelor’s degree from Marist in 2006 and her Master’s in 2008 in Psychology.

Volchok joined Doughty’s bench for the 2023-24 campaign and is primarily responsible for the defensive game-planning and player development. In his first season with
the Red Foxes, he helped coach Zaria Shazer to All-MAAC status.
Prior to joining the Red Foxes, Volchok spent three years as an assistant coach at Iona University. In his three seasons with the Gaels, Volchok helped lead them to 43 wins
and 2022-23 MAAC Championship. He was responsible for the development of 2023 MAAC Player of the Year Juana Camilion. Camilion went on to become Iona’s first
Olympic Medalist, as she earned a silver medal with her home country of Spain in 3x3 Basketball at the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad.
Volchok was a 1000-point scorer at Mercy College and played several years playing professionally in Europe in the ABA, and the IBL after graduating in 2004.
During the 2022-23 campaign, Shields helped guide the Setters to one of the best seasons in program history with a final record of 24-8. Pace’s 2021-22 season featured milestones at every turn,
including claiming the program’s first-ever NE10 Southwest Division regular-season championship. The Setters went on to compete in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2012, advancing
all the way to the Elite Eight for the first time since 2001.
Shields, who played for Pace from 2008-2013, joined the coaching ranks after completing one of the most heralded careers in school history. She is one of just seven players in Setters’ history to
record more than 1,000 career points and rebounds. In addition to 1,006 career boards, Shields also ranks third in the Pace annals with 1,757 points. Shields was a four-time All-Conference selection
and was named Northeast-10 Conference Freshman of the Year for the 2008-09 season. In addition, she was named the All-Met Division II Player of the Year in 2012. In 2010-11, the Setters went to
the NCAA East Regional Finals and ended with a sensational record of 24-9. Shields was selected to the NCAA All-Regional Team that season. Over four seasons, Shields averaged 15.3 points and
8.7 rebounds per game while shooting over 50 percent from the field. She finished her career with41 career double-doubles. Shields was named to the D2 East Hoops “Super 75” list as one of the

MORIAH CRISP| ASSISTANT COACH | FIRST SEASON SEASON | GEORGE WASHINGTON ’23
Moriah Crisp enters her first season as part of Erin Doughty’s bench in 2024-25. Crisp joined the Marist women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach for the 2024-25 season
as announced by coach Doughty on July 22, 2024.
Crisp spent the 2023-24 campaign as a video analyst with the Fordham women’s basketball program. Before her time as a Ram, Crisp served the previous two seasons at
Fordham’s Atlantic 10 rival George Washington as a graduate assistant, earning her Master’s degree in Sports Management.
While with the Colonials, she provided scout reporting assistance, facilitated player development, tracked performance statistics, reviewed game film, conducted prospect
player evaluations, coordinated student-athlete visits, and managed the recruiting schedule. She also designed many of the team’s social media graphics and highlight reels.
Crisp played for four years from 2016-20 at UNC Wilmington, spending three years as a team captain, appearing in 99 career games and making 45 starts. She scored 342
points for her career, averaging 3.5 per game, with 246 assists, a clip of 2.5 per contest. Crisp was also selected to the CAA Academic Honor Roll as a senior.
Mendonca got her start in the business as a former student manager for the UConn Women’s Basketball program for the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. During her time with the Huskies, she
contributed to the facilitation of practices by assisting players and ensured smooth gameday operations by completing miscellaneous tasks to assist coaches and players.
Mendonca also tracked various statistics throughout practice to support coaches and promote player development. In her two seasons, as a manager, the Huskies reached the National
Championship and Sweet 16 in back-to-back years.
After her time at UConn, Mendonca joined the WNBA powerhouse Connecticut Sun as an equipment manager. During her time with the Sun, Mendonca ordered and administered team-issued
gear while maintaining an inventory of current and future equipment within budgetary parameters.
She also supported in providing and fulfilling the daily needs of players, team personnel, and coaching staff. She also scheduled and directed rotating tasks of 20 team attendants that executed
gameday operations throughout the season.
Mendonca graduated from UConn in May 2023 with her degree in sports management.
