AFCAT Marking Scheme

T he marking scheme of the AFCAT exam is given below:

For correct answers, candidates score three marks. T he score of candidates is calculated af ter deducting AFCAT negative marking

Candidates qualif ying the online test of AFCAT are called f or AFSB interview. T he AFSB interview is conducted in three stages at dif f erent centres-Dehradun,
Varanasi, Gandhinagar and Mysuru. At AFSB, candidates need to undergo the f ollowing tests inorder to ascertain their suitability and gauge your potential as
an Of f icer in the Indian Air Force.

St age-I

Of f icer Intelligence Rating T est along with Picture Perception and discussion test is conducted on the f irst day. Stage-I test is a screening test and only
those who qualif y are called f or subsequent testing. All Stage-I qualif ied candidates are subjected to document check to ascertain their eligibility f or the
branches applied f or. Candidates who either do not qualif y in Stage-I or do not meet the required eligibility criteria are sent back on the f irst day itself .

St age-II

All Stage 1 qualif ied candidates need to undergo tests as part of their Stage 2 testing during f our to f ive days. Fif th day is f or CPSS testing (Flying branch).
T he f ollowing tests are conducted in Stage 2:

Psychological T ests are written tests that are conducted by a Psychologist

Group T ests are interactive indoor and outdoor activities which are a combination of mental and physical work

Interview involves a personal conversation with an Interviewing Of f icer

Candidates who have applied f or f lying branch and have been recommended, will also have to undergo Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) test

For Flying branch

Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) will be administered to recommended candidates only. T his is once in a lifetime test. Candidates who f ailed the
CPSS/ PABT in an earlier attempt or a Flight Cadet suspended f rom f lying training at Air Force Academy are not eligible.

Medical Test

Candidates recommended by the Selection Board, are sent f or the medical examination either at Air Force Central Medical Establishment (AFCME), New Delhi
or Institute of Aviation Medicine, Bengaluru.
