Description
Dr. Fixit Roofkote is composed of viscous, creamy dark brown bitumen emulsion, polymer, mineral fillers,
additives and water as a medium. It is used as a waterproof & weatherproof membrane for concealed roofs,
walls, gutters, (concrete, metal, wood, etc) of the building structures because it forms relatively thick film and
bonds firmly to cementitious surfaces, protects wood & timber and prevents rust formation. Waterproofing
is achieved by applying Dr. Fixit Roofkote by brush or mop with polyester fibre or geo-fabric sheet as

reinforcement to provide a weatherproof membrane. It forms jointless and seamless membrane.

Standard Compliance / Specification


Meets the requirement of ASTM D 1227 – 87, Type III standard.

}}Rust protection of galvanized roof, metal, pipe and vehicle underbody.
}}Corrosion protection for concrete from sea water.
}}Can be Applied on metal or galvanized roof for sound deadening.

}}Waterproofing - Exceptionally good waterproofing.
}}Ease of application - Cold applied, bituminous emulsion material. Easily applied by brush or mop.
}}Durability - Forms relatively thick (1.2-1.5 mm) film providing excellent impermeable and durable membrane.
}}Movement accommodation - Polymer modified hence forms flexible film. Also accommodates thermal
stresses in slab due to variation in temperature.
}}Reinforcement – Higher reinforcement can be induced with polyester fibre sheet between the coats.
}}Self priming – No separate or additional primer is required.

Method of Application

1 S U R FACE P R E PA R ATI O N
}}Surface for treatment must be thoroughly cleaned of all laitance, loose material, oil, grease, etc.
}}Mechanical means such as wire brushing & shot blasting can be used.
}}Finally vacuum cleaning of all loose solids and liquids can be done if required.
}}All surface cracks upto 5 mm width should be filled up with Dr.Fixit Crack-x or Dr.Fixit Unifiller . Cracks more
than 5 mm and all separation gaps should be filled up with Dr.Fixit Pidicrete URP or Dr.Fixit Unibond SBR
modified mortar or as specified.

2 PRIMING
}} Maintain SSD condition during priming.
}} Prime by diluting Dr. Fixit Roofkote with water (1:1) and allow drying.

3 A P P L I C ATI O N
}} Apply 1st coat directly by brush or mop without any dilution.
}}When the coating is still tacky, lay and fix appropriate polyster fabric or geo-fabric sheet and allow to dry for
8-12 hours.
}} Apply 2nd coat directly by brush or mop without any dilution and allow it to dry for 24 hours

4 CLEANING
}} Tools & equipments should be cleaned with potable water immediately after use. Cured material can be
cleaned by scrapping

Precautions & Limitations


}} Do not dilute with water for 1st and 2nd coat application.

}}Not recommended for areas larger than 2000 sq. ft.
}}Always protect the coating with proper and appropriate screeding. Do not keep it exposed to UV

Health & Safety Precautions


}} During application wear protective clothing, gloves and eye goggles during application. Avoid product to
contact eyes and skin.
}}Skin Contact : Wash immediately with plenty of clean water, use kerosene or mineral turpentine when the
product has dried.
}}Eye contact : In the event of eye contact splash plenty of clean water immediately and seek medical advice.
