This document reviews literature and studies related to the effects of organic fertilizers on mung bean growth and yield, highlighting significant findings from various researchers. It details the positive impacts of organic fertilizers, such as increased plant height and yield components, and discusses the research design and methodology for a study conducted among students in Zamboanga Sibugay. The study employs a phenomenological approach using semi-structured interviews to gather data on the effects of organic fertilizers in mung bean cultivation.

CHAPTER ll

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES

Related Literature:
This chapter provides comprehensive and up-to-date write-ups and

researchers vital to the consideration of the copyright and authenticity of the study.

Furthermore, the literature and studies that are includ3d in the study are all relevant

to the subject of the problem that serves as a backdrop for further ideas helpful to

the researchers

Several studies have been conducted to evaluate the effects of organic

fertilizer in mung bean on provide comprehensive assessment of compost, manure,

vermicast, including its impacts on agriculture.

A study by Malihe Bandani et al. found that the application of organic

fertilizers, including humic acid and phosphate, significantly increased plant height,

the number of sub-branches, and the number of pods per plant in mung bean. This

suggests that organic fertilizers can promote vegetative growth and enhance yield

components.

Another study by Ghulam Abbas et al. investigated the effects of organic and

inorganic fertilizers on mung bean yield under arid conditions. The results showed

that the application of poultry litter combined with DAP (diammonium phosphate)

significantly increased grain yield compared to inorganic fertilizers alone. This

indicates that organic fertilizers can be effective in improving mung bean yield even

in challenging environments.

André A. Diatta et al. conducted a study on the integrated use of compost

and animal manure for mung bean production. Their results indicated that the

application of cattle manure significantly increased seed yield, stem diameter, total

pod weight, and the number of seeds per pod compared to inorganic fertilizers. This

highlights the potential of organic amendments to improve soil fertility and enhance

mung bean productivity.

Related Studies

There have been numerous studies conducted on the effects of organic

fertilizer in mung bean.

Her are some keys findings:

Effect of Organic Fertilizer on Mung Bean Yield Components: This study

investigated the impact of humic acid and phosphate-based organic fertilizers on

mung bean yield components. The results showed that these organic fertilizers

significantly increased plant height, the number of sub-branches, and the number of

pods per plant.

Organic and Inorganic Fertilizers on Mung Bean Yield and Nutrient Content:

This study compared the effects of different combinations of organic and inorganic

fertilizers on mung bean growth, yield, and nutrient content. The results showed that

the application of vermicompost combined with inorganic fertilizers significantly

increased seed yield, 1000-seed weight, and the nitrogen, phosphorus, and

potassium content in mung bean seeds.

Effects of Organic Fertilizer Replacement for Nitrogen Fertilizer on Mung

Bean Growth and Nitrogen Utilization: This study used 15N-tracing technology to

investigate the effects of replacing nitrogen fertilizer with organic fertilizer on nitrogen

utilization and mung bean growth. The results showed that the combined application

of organic and nitrogen fertilizers improved nitrogen utilization efficiency and

promoted mung bean growth.

Effects of Organic and Inorganic Fertilizers on Mung Bean Yield under

Conditions: This study examined the effects of different combinations of organic and

inorganic fertilizers on mung bean yield under arid conditions. The results showed

that applying DAP (diammonium phosphate) along with poultry litter significantly

increased grain yield compared to inorganic fertilizers alone. This demonstrates the

potential of organic fertilizers to improve mung bean productivity even in challenging

environments.

CHAPTER lll
RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY

This chapter gives an outline of research methods that I followed in the study.

It provides information on the participants are and how they will be sampled. The

researcher describes the research design that was chosen for the purpose it this

study and the reason for this choice. The instrument that will be used for data

collection is also described and the procedure’s that will be followed in carrying out

this study are included. The researcher also discuss the methods that will be used to

gather data with regard to The Effect of Organic Fertilizer in Mung bean.

Research Design
The research will be phenomenology the study to understand the experience of

selected Students with regard to Organic Fertilizer in Mungbean. Specially, a semi-

structured interview will be conducted so that the researchers can ask additional

questions during the interviews if clarifications and further explanation will be

needed.

Locale of the Study

This study was conducted at Villacastor Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Respondents Sample

The respondents of the study where (20) Students at Villacastor Buug, Zamboanga

Sibugay Regarding the Effects of Organic Fertilizer in Mungbean.

Population and Sampling Procedure

The selected respondents of the study will go through convenience sampling which

refers to a non-probability sampling method where units are selected for inclusion in

the sample. In this case, Students at Villacastor Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay who

have some knowledge about The Effects of Organic Fertilizers in Mungbean.

Research Instrument and Validity

The research instrument was involving semi-structured interview which is a data

collection method that involves asking questions a set of open-ended questions and

following them up with probe questions to explore further their response and the

topic of interest. The interviewer will follow the interview etiquette to ensure that the

interviewer can share their answer freely. And making sure that the interview session

was conducted and safe and confidential environment or setting.

Data Gathering Procedure

The researcher secured first a permit from the school head, then from the Farmers

President to allow the conducted interview among the Students. The refined data in

which the answers of the respondents were analyzed using thematic analysis. The

respondents answer to each question was evaluated into these codes will be

simplified into categories, and from the categories, the researcher will generate a

theme representing the answer that prevailed for each question raised in the study.
