--Course Overview—

Project Management is an important course for those who are in


need to manage their works at school or even at home. This is
an essential starting point for students taking this course to
be able to learn the basics, knowledge and skills of managing
a project even without formal training on being a project
manager.
In this course, students will be taught the ways on how to
better understand the management of a chosen information
systems project. In a step-by-step process learners will be
able to absorb ideas in the planning, scope, scheduling and
cost management of their project from the start to end.
Moreover, as someone who is a primary contributor to the
success of their project, they will be taught of ways on how
to become an effective project manager in delivering their own
project. Thus, absorbing the different project management
skills will therefore benefit their project no matter how big
or small it is.

Purpose of the Module

IS 3217, Information System Project Management


module is intended for students enrolled in the course
Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, preferably
the third-year college. Due to the limited face to face
interaction with the students, this module will guide the
learners in acquiring knowledge with regards to the
subject, despite the circumstances. This is purposely
designed to help the learners better understand the
subject matter.
This module can be printed but is strictly not for sale.
Its purpose is for the learners to learn not earn.

Module Outcome

At the end of each module, learners will be able to:


1. Use the concept of project management in critically
analysing an information systems project.
2. Develop and acquire a strong group foundation in creating a
project.
3. Develop information systems project following the phases
and cycle of project management.

Module Requirements

At the end of this semester, learners will be able to submit,


1. 3 information systems project title and concept and present it on
class.
Learners are also expected to submit their activities on a given period of
time. A printed copy or soft copy will be accepted by the subject instructor
as long as it is neat, clean and readable.
