The proposal outlines a culminating activity for ITWRBS that encourages students to explore the intersection of religion and personal experience through a multimodal project titled 'Faith and Reflection: A Multimodal Exploration.' Students can choose from four options, including digital storytelling, face-to-face storytelling, a creative writing portfolio, or a comparative religious analysis, each requiring personal reflection and creative expression. The activity includes a guided recollection session to enhance personal growth and culminates in project submission and presentations over an eight-week timeline.

CULMINATING ACTIVITY PROPOSAL: GROUP 3 ITWRBS

(Religion/Faith)

This proposal outlines a culminating activity for ITWRBS (I’m assuming this
stands for a course or program related to writing, religion, and possibly
social studies) that integrates a reflection component (“Recollection”).
The activity aims to foster critical thinking, creative expression, and
personal growth through exploring the intersection of religion and
personal experience.

ACTIVITY TITLE: “Faith and Reflection: A Multimodal Exploration”

Objective: Students will demonstrate their understanding of religious

concepts and their ability to integrate personal reflection and creative
expression through a multimodal project.

Activity Description:

Students will choose ONE of the following options to complete:

Option 1: Digital Storytelling Project:

• Focus: Students create a short digital story (video, slideshow with

narration, interactive website) exploring a specific religious belief,
practice, or experience. The story should incorporate personal reflection
on the chosen topic.

• Deliverables: A digital story (5-7 minutes in length) and a short written

reflection analyzing the creative choices made and the personal
significance of the project.

• Assessment: Creativity, clarity of message, integration of personal

reflection, technical proficiency.
Option 2: Face to face story telling project:

Focus: We will ask or please one sakristan to do the recollection activity or

Bible study

Option 3: Creative Writing Portfolio:

• Focus: Students create a portfolio of creative writing pieces (poems,

short stories, essays, dramatic monologues) exploring different aspects of
religion and personal faith.

• Deliverables: A portfolio of 3-5 creative writing pieces and a reflective

discussing the themes explored and the personal growth experienced.

• Assessment: Creative expression, depth of exploration, thematic

coherence, quality of writing.

Option 4: Comparative Religious Analysis:

• Focus: Students compare and contrast two different religious traditions,

focusing on specific aspects such as beliefs, practices, or social impact.
The analysis should integrate personal reflection on the similarities and
differences observed.

• Assessment: Research quality, analytical depth, clarity of argument,

integration of personal reflection.

Recollection Component: Regardless of the chosen option, students will

participate in a guided recollection session to reflect on their learning
process and personal growth throughout the project. This session can be
individual or group-based, and might involve journaling, guided
meditation, or discussion.

Timeline:
• Week 1-2: Introduction to the activity, brainstorming and selection of
project options.

• Week 3-5: Research, creation, and development of the chosen project.

• Week 6: Recollection session.

• Week 7: Project submission and peer review.

• Week 8: Final presentations and class discussion.
