Volunteering in a hospital offers a unique and invaluable experience that goes beyond

course of 15 days, I had the opportunity to volunteer at C.H. NEW DELHI, where I
encountered a diverse array of experiences that not only broadened my understanding
of healthcare but also deepened my appreciation for the dedication and resilience of
those who work in this field.
During my time at the hospital, I was assigned to various departments, each presenting
its own set of responsibilities and learning opportunities. My role as a volunteer was
multifaceted, involving tasks such as assisting patients with mobility, providing comfort
and companionship, helping with administrative duties, and supporting the nursing staff
with non-clinical tasks. These activities, though seemingly small, played a significant role
in ensuring the smooth operation of the hospital and enhancing the overall patient
experience.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my volunteer experience was the opportunity to
interact with patients. Whether it was offering a listening ear to someone anxious about
their medical condition or simply bringing a smile to a patient’s face with a friendly
conversation, these interactions highlighted the importance of empathy and compassion
in healthcare. I witnessed firsthand how a simple act of kindness could make a

Another reason I chose to volunteer at a hospital was to make a positive impact on my
community. Hospitals are places where people often go through difficult times, and I
wanted to be there to offer some comfort and assistance. Even though I wouldn’t be
doing medical tasks, I knew that volunteers could still play an important role in
supporting both patients and staff.

During my time at the hospital, I was assigned a variety of tasks that helped keep the
hospital running smoothly. Here are some of the main responsibilities I took on each
day:
1. Assisting Patients: My primary role was to help patients with their basic needs.
This included helping them move around, getting in and out of bed, and even
helping them eat their meals. I would talk to them, listen to their stories, and try
to make them feel as comfortable as possible.
2. Organizing Patient Records: I spent a lot of time in the administrative office,
where I helped organize patient records. This task required me to be very careful
and detail-oriented, as it was important that all the information was filed
correctly.
3. Managing Supplies: Another part of my job was to check and organize medical
supplies. I had to make sure that everything was in its proper place and that the
hospital was well-stocked with the necessary items. This was important because
doctors and nurses rely on these supplies to care for patients.
4. Helping at the Reception Desk: I also spent time at the reception desk, where I
greeted visitors, answered their questions, and directed them to the correct
department. This role was all about being friendly and helpful, making sure that
