1.Discuss the difficulties in measuring the intelligence of machines.

the difficulties in measuring machine intelligence:

1. Defining Intelligence:
- There are various perspectives of looking at intelligence and as such it is complex to
come up with an all embracing definition within the aspect of the machines.

2. Task-Specific Intelligence:
- It is difficult to compare the performance of different relatively narrow tasks as AI
systems usually develop well in some sphere, but they do not possess general artificial
intelligence.

3. Lack of a Universal Metric:Lack of a Universal Metric:

- There is at present no consensus on how MI can be quantified, and the methods
commonly used to this end are usually domain-specific.

4. Subjectivity and Bias:

- The measurement of MI can be tainted by the subjectivity and previous prejudice that
is anthropocentric in foundation.

5. Rapid Advancement of Technology:

- The fast pace of AI development makes it challenging to establish consistent and
lasting benchmarks for intelligence.

6. Ethical and Philosophical Concerns:

- There is a rather pressing ethical problem resulting from the chance to define and
quantify machine intelligence, and the comparison between people and computers.

7. Overemphasis on Performance:
- Using task practicing to define intelligence can be disadvantageous as it ignores other
factors like adaptability, creativity and intelligence.

2. Survey the literature from the past 6 months to find the applications of
DSS(decision support system) and BI(Business intelligence) and analytics and
summarize the applications and submit them with extract sources

Decision Support Systems (DSS)

Decision support systems (DSS) are a class of computerized information system that
support decision-making activities. DSS are interactive computer-based systems and
subsystems intended to help decision makers use communications technologies, data,
documents, knowledge and/or models to complete decision process tasks.
Applications:
1. Medical Diagnosis: Helps health professionals to determine diseases by analyzing
patient records, test results, and other medical data using it.
2. Financial Planning: Assists organizations and individuals in their budgeting,
forecasting, and investment decisions by digesting the financial data.
3.Supply Chain Management: Evaluates alternative supply chain scenarios to optimize
inventory levels, logistics and the selection of suppliers.
4. Disaster Management: Aids in devising emergency response plans by simulating
disaster scenario and assessing the risks.
Urban Planning: Helps in developing the city infrastructures by evaluating the alternative
plans and land use scenarios.

Business Intelligence (BI)

Business Intelligence (BI) comprises the sets of strategies, processes, tools and
technologies applied by organizations for gaining intelligent insights in to their business
information for supporting better decision making.
Applications:

Sales Analysis: Is used to follow the sales performance, to identify trends and to
forecast pretty much where the business is going regarding sales so as to be able to
make informed decisions.
Customer Insights: This involves analyzing the behavior of customers and uses their
preferences and demographics to increase the precision of targeting, personalization,
and customer satisfaction.
Financial Reporting: Gives you in depth financial reports and dashboards to make
better decision based on current financials.
Human Resources Management: Monitors, analyzes employee performance,
satisfaction, and turnover rate to improve HR strategies.
Retail Management: Analyzes sales data, customer interactions, current market trends
and suggests optimizations in inventory management, pricing strategies and
promotional efforts.

Analytics
Analytics is the systematic computational analysis of data or statistics. It helps
organizations to see patterns, correlations and trends in data and take data driven
decisions.
Applications:
Predictive Analytics: Uses data, statistical algorithms and machine learning
techniques to identify the likelihood of future outcomes based on historical data.
Descriptive Analytics: In this category belong analyses which help in the depiction of
past performance by using e.g. data on annual sales.
Prescriptive Analytics: recommend specific actions to be taken in order to achieve
certain goals/ objectives by using the data and predicting what will happen as a result of
different strategies.
Fraud Detection: It helps in identifying unusual patterns or behaviors in transactions
which helps organizations in preventing frauds.
Social Media Analytics:Processes the information on the social media to help you
understand what people think about certain topic and how your products are being
talked about in the market.
Businesses and organizations need these systems and tools in order to take those fact
based, data driven decisions which will help them to be more efficient, more profitable
and just perform better in general.
