party, a business, charity group or a club. The goal may be profit
oriented or achievement oriented.

Formation of Popular Organization

Popular organizations are by their nature formal. They are set up
with objectives and have legal or corporate personalities which
can sue and be sued. Their formation takes the following patterns:
1. Conveying of meeting of intention by people who have an
interest in a company’s or organizational affairs. The reason
for the formation is made known in the meeting.
2. When an agreement has been reached, the stakeholders’ set-
up temporary officers or leaders and the minutes of the
meeting become a legal document.
3. A committee is appointed to draft rules and regulations which
will be known as charter, bye-law, constitution or partnership
deeds.
4. A letter of intention is drafted to register the organization
with the relevant government ministry or agency.
5. Court affidavit of facts pertaining the goals, activities and
usefulness of the organization is required.
6. Certificate of incorporation which is acquired by its
registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (C.A.C.).
