The story of The Sun and The Moon
Food for thought: If they follow good morals and values instilled into their
everyday lives, by their family, only good things will come for them, and a
bright future is promised. Though if they do not, negative energy will be sent to
them, and only bad actions will come across them for the rest of their life.
Our actions, or failure to act, can have lasting impact on our environment and the people
around us. However, we can also find beauty in every tragedy, and no matter what
happens in life, we see that there is an everlasting hope for recovery.
Q &A
What is the concern of the moon regarding his stars?
moon was scared that his star stars would wither and die if they play with the star children of the
sun
Why does the Moon anger the Sun?

The moon suggested to the sun that they kill their children who were crowding the
heavens with their number. When the sun had killed her children, the moon merely hid
behind the clouds. In the evening, when the clouds faded, the moon stars appeared. This
angered the sun so he gave chase to the moon.

What particular phenomenon is described in the Filipino Folktale?

This folktale tells us why the sun and the moon never meet. The sun only shows up at
daytime and the moon at nighttime. They were not in good terms. They are chasing after
each other but they never meet. (Except for extraordinary phenomena like the eclipse.)
