A RESOLUTION DIRECTING ALL MEMBERS OF THE BARANGAY NUTRITION

COUNCIL (BNC) TO ADOPT AND PROPERLY GUIDED IN THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NATIONAL COUNCIL POLICIES AND LAWS
(Sponsored by; Kagawad Welson G. Piscos /Comm.on Health and Sanitation and Social Welfare )

WHEREAS, the National Nutrition Council (NNC) informed the Barangay

Nutrition Council that there is an upcoming Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level
Program Implementation (MELLPI PRO) wherein the Nutrition Laws and Policies
should be reviewed, updated, and with institutionalized mechanisms in the local
level;

WHEREAS, the Barangay Nutrtion Council convened on March 25, 2024 for its
BNC quarterly meeting;

WHEREAS,the Barangay Nutrtition Council designated Ms. Mercel Plazos as

the Municipal Nutrtion Program Coordinator (MNPC) to ensure the conduct of the
upcoming Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Program Implementation
(MELLPI PRO);

WHEREAS, the Barangay Nutrition Council adopted the following

comprehensive plans, programs, and activities for proper handling, management
and implementation;

1. Adoption and Implementation of the Barangay Nutrition Action

Plan for 2023-2025
2. Adoption, Implementation, and monitoring of national Executive
Order 51 or the National Code of Marketing Breastmilk
Substitutes, Breastmilk Supplements, and other related
products;
3. Adoption of Republic Act 10028 on the Expanded Breastfeeding
Promotion Act of 2009;
4. Adoption of DILG Memorandum Circular 2011-54 on the
implementation and Monitoring of the National Breastifeeding
Policy;
 5. Adoption of DILG Memorandum Circular 2018-42 on the
Adoption and Implementation of PPAN 2017-2022
6. Adoption of Republic Act 8172 or the Salt Iodization Nationwide
(ASIN LAW);
7. Adoption of Republic Act 8976 or the Philippine Food
Fortification Act;
8. Adoption of Republic Act 11148 or the “Act Scaling Up the
National and Local Health and Nutrition Programs Through a
Strengthened Integrated strategy for Maternal, Neonatal, Child
Health and Nutrition in the First One Thousand (1,000) days of
life”;
9. Adoption of Republic Act 11037 or the “Act Institutionalizing a
National Feeding Program for Undernourished Children in Public
Day Care, Kindergarten and Elementary Schools to Combat
Hunger and Undernutrition Among Filipino Children and
Appropriating Funds Thereof;
10.Adoption of Department of health (DOH) Administration Orders;
a) AO No. 2010-0010-Revised Policy on Micronutrients
Supplementation and
b) AO No.2008-09-Implementing of Health reforms for
Rapid Reduction of Maternal and Neonatal Mortality.
11. Adoption of Department of Education (DepEd) Orders;
a) D.O. No. 59-2 s. 2017-Weekly Iron Folic
Supplementation for Female Adolescents;
b) D.E No. 39 ,s. 2017- Operational Guidelines for School
Based Feeding
c) D.E. No. 13, s. 2017- policy and Guidelines for Healthy
Food Choices in School;
d) D.E No. 10-1, s 2016- Policy Guidelines for
Comprehensive Water, Sanitationand Hygiene (WASH)
in Schools; and
e) D.E. No. 223, s. 2016- Strengthening Implementation of
“Gulayan sa Paaralan” Project.
12. Adoption of NNC Governing Board resolutions
a) Res. No. 3, s. 2012- Adopting the Guidelines on the
fabrication, Verification and Maintenance of Wooden
Height Board;
b) Res. No. 3, s. 2018- Approving the Guidelines on the
Selection of Non-Wood Height and Length Measuring
Tool;
c) Res. No. 1, s. 2017- Approving and Adopting the PPAN
2017-2022;
d) Salt Iodization Advisory Board resolution No. 1, s. 2018-
Adopting the strategic Plan of the National Salt
Iodization Program 2018-2022;
e) Res. No. 3, s. 2014-Approving and Adopting the
Guidelines on Llcal Nutrition Planning;
f) Res. No. 6, s. 2012- Adoption of the 20212 Nutrition
Guidelines for Filipinos;
g) Res. No. 2, s. 2012- Approving the Revised
Implementing Guidelines on Operation Timbang Plus;
and
h) Res. No. 2, s. 2009- Adopting the National Policy on
Nutrition Management in Emergencies and Disasters;

NOW, THERFORE, on motion of Sangguniang Barangay Member Hon. Glenn V.

Salinas, duly seconded by Hon. Cesar C. Lascoňa, be it;

THEREFORE, be it resolve, by the Sangguniang Barangay of Tangnan, Loon,

Bohol that:

RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved by the Barangay Nutrition Council of

Tangnan, Loon, Bohol to DIRECT ALL MEMBERS OF THE BARANGAY NUTRITION
COUNCIL (BNC) TO ADOPT AND PROPERLY GUIDED IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE
NATIONAL NUTRITION COUNCIL POLICIES AND LAWS.
