Information Technology (402) Chapter 1 - Chapter 1.1 - Introduction to Styles - Class 10
A style is a collection of all formatting information, which you want to save and then apply on the document.
For example, following details of Font can be stored as a style with the name ‘Title style’.
For example, Size: 12, Name: Bookman Old Style, Weight: Bold, Alignment: Left.
Styles ensure consistent formatting throughout a document and reduce time and effort in applying the same
formatting manually.
Page Style defines the basic layout like page size, margins, placement of header/footer, footnotes, borders,
and background. A document can have one or many page styles. If a page style is not specified, Writer uses
its built-in Default page style.
Paragraph Style is used to format paragraphs, including text alignment, line spacing and borders. Usually, it
also includes Character styling attributes.
Character Style applies formatting to specific blocks of letters within a paragraph such as words or phrases
without affecting the entire paragraph. Character styles allow changing the text colour, text size, highlighting
text and emphasising it.
Frame Styles format sections of a document, allowing different sections to have different appearances.
Frames are like containers, which can hold text, graphics and lists. Applying Frame Styles allows to format a
frame by specifying its size, position, border and how the text is placed around the picture.
List Style allows formatting of lists by applying different bullets, numbering formats, or numeric styles.
Tables are used for organising and presenting large amount of information effectively.
Table Style allows the formatting of tables by adding borders, aligning text inside the table, and using
different colours for text and different colours and patterns for borders.
Using Style option from the Menu Bar, Style Drop-Down List Box from the Toolbar, Sidebar Menu, and F11
(keyboard shortcut).

template/document in one go to our Style menu and makes formatting our task easy.
Q) What is the purpose of the "Load Styles" option in the Style menu?
