Course The objective of the course is to:
Objectives
 To provide a good conceptual grounding in to the basic principles of
electricity and electronics
 To know how circuit is analyzed.
 To understand the application of different electronics components and its
characteristics.
 To know Theory of semiconductor devices and their application area.

Course Student will come to know about electrical circuit component and analysis
Description methods, electromagnetic induction theory, A.C fundamentals and load
characteristics, Semiconductor theory, P-N junction diode, transistor
configuration, performance & characteristics.

 Charge, Coulomb's Law, electric field, voltage, current, energy

 Kirchhoff's laws (KVL & KCL); circuits simplifications (series and


parallel connections of R, L, C and sources); star (Y) - delta (Δ)
transformation;

 Mesh analysis; Nodal analysis; Superposition theorem; Thevenin's


and Norton's theorems; maximum power transfer,

 Steady state AC Circuit, Average and Effective (RMS) Values,

 Phasor Representations and analysis of sinusoids,

3. Introduction to Basic Electronics


 Introduction to semiconductor Devices
 Diodes and Rectification; Regulated Power Supplies;
