Course Syllabus: Building and Enhancing Literacy Skills Across the Curriculum (for BTLED ICT Majors)

Course Description: This course is designed for BTLED ICT majors, focusing on developing and enhancing
literacy skills crucial for effective teaching and integrating technology in diverse educational contexts.
Participants will explore literacy strategies, analyze various texts, and develop practical skills in reading
comprehension, writing proficiency, and critical thinking. A significant emphasis will be placed on the
application of technology to enhance literacy instruction and assessment.

Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

 CLO1: Analyze various types of texts and apply appropriate reading comprehension strategies.

 CLO2: Develop and implement effective writing strategies for diverse audiences and purposes,
leveraging technology tools.

 CLO3: Critically evaluate texts, considering author's purpose, bias, and the use of technology in
shaping meaning.

 CLO4: Design and deliver technology-enhanced literacy lessons for diverse learners.

 CLO5: Utilize assessment technologies to measure and improve students' literacy skills.
