I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the Grade 8 students should be able to:
a. Understand the Cause-and-Effect Pattern of idea development,
b. Use an appropriate grammatical signal suitable to Cause-and-Effect Pattern of idea development,
c. Compose a paragraph that contains a Cause-and-Effect Pattern of idea development which uses an
appropriate grammatical signal.

At the end of the lesson, the Grade 8 students should be able

C. Discussion

Cause- is defined as why something happened.


Effect- is defined as what happened.

I have here a graphic organizer that shows the relationship of


cause and effect pattern of idea development.

A fishbone diagram is a cause-and-effect discovery tool that


helps figure out the reason(s) for defects, variations or failures
within a process. In other words, it helps break down, in
successive layers, root causes that potentially contribute to an
effect. Sometimes called an Ishikawa diagram or cause-and-
effect analysis, a fishbone diagram is one of the main tools
used in a root cause analysis (Trout, 2023).
